I've really enjoyed watching this build series. I have to be honest, and admit that I wasn't a fan of the look of the guitar until... you started playing it. It sounds amazing, such a rich warm tone. I was instantly converted and now I think it's a beautiful guitar!
Hi Damien Thanks so much for watching... yes it’s a funny thing how you like the look of a guitar or not. I got obsessed with the Novo Serus J myself... Anyway... glad you liked the tone. 😄👍🏼
From someone that builds guitars every day I have to say nice job. A few fit and finish problems yet for a first time you did phenomenal. Now it's time for you to take the plunge and learn how to carve a neck. It's not as hard as you might think give it a go with some cheap timber and once you have more confidence try the real thing.
Thanks so much 🙏😀. You are right... that has to be the next natural step... building the neck from scratch. I’m just intimidated by trust rod, fingerboard, frets ... you know 😅. But thanks for the pep talk... I will take the plunge.
Nice guitar, sounds really good. I can't afford Lollars, but I think I'll put some Gemini gold foils in my Les Paul build. Excellent playing, too. Well done.
Hey, good to hear 😃. Really appreciate your comment - thanks so much 🙏 I’m really happy with the gold foils - especially for ambient tones. I’m gearing up to do my second build this spring - still inspired by Novo but this time with p90
Great series... looking forward to the next build and subscribed! :-) I have a Serus J myself with a gold foil in the neck and a firebird in the bridge position. The latter sounds a little too shrill when played by itself so I‘m considering another gold foil. Your video helped a lot! Thanks!
Thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for watching. Really appreciate it 👍🏼🙏 I’m planning my next build at the moment so hopefully I can upload something interesting again soon. 😉
Thanks so much Dan. Considering it’s my first guitar build I’m really satisfied. I just need to really dive in to how to really make a great setup and right now I’m planning a video on filing the nut slots so they are just right. But I’m super happy with it 😀👍🏼
@@MichaelLagerstedt Since your a greenhorn at building l would like to recommend 2 luthier videos first is driftwood guitars has detail knowledge of wood the second is a mandolin luthier jerry rosa@rosa stringworks he is a super detailed individual at finishing as well as construction even though it's mandolin l feel like you might gain some tips anyway good luck will be watching for your post Danny
Wow John, that sounds great. I would definitely go with the Gold Foils. I have come to love them really much. They are super clear, great crunchy attack. Please send a picture when you get it 😃👍 Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏻😉
Wow! What a beautiful instrument! Just watched the whole series. Just bought some wood for my first build (Fender Swinger-inspired thing with body enlarged by approx. 7 %), that reminds a bit of that Novo! Let's see how it goes. I wish to make a video series about the build too. Seems like Covid-19 really made people try new things and encouraged them to finally fullfill their dreams what comes to building guitars. All the best from Finland!
Wow!! I watched the whole creation process and I've watched a ton of guitar builds, well done sir especially for your first time and not having the best setup either, just impressive. That guitar sings and looks amazing, nailed it!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. 🙏🏻😃 It’s a great guitar. Just used it on a project. Also very happy with the Lollar Gold Foils 😉
+Tobias Schmidtke - Thanks Tobias 😁👍🏼. I still have a lot to learn but I don’t think it’s rocket science... if I can do it anyone can. But thanks for watching, appreciate it 😉
+CPSDesigns Hey - Yes I found the solution. Actually it was Mike from the channel “Puisheen” who pointed me in right direction. After shimming the neck and raising the bridge it all worked. I will post a video on how I did that. ... and thanks for watching 👍🏼😀
Very enjoyable, simple, refreshing motivating video series about this very nice guitar, built with passion. It's a suscessfull first try. I will follow your GGBO2021 😉, cheers

Those were some really good jams, the guitar sounds really nice! Loved the dirt bits with heavier clipping, I think it'd make a killer shredder
