@@NextNate03 Insurance pays for your broken vehicle.. when her insurance don't pay. she try to get money from tesla now.. this originate as insurance issue . Not my problem, I don't buy battery cars.
Ok also this is on her for buying an out of warranty used car and it is one of the first models tesla ever made. The model S came out in 2012 and tesla was a nothing company back then. Their cars have been steadily improving and are now very durable and reliable. But i would never buy the first model year car from basically a brand new company (roadster not withstanding) this situation isn’t relevant for anyone buying a new tesla with the 8 year 120k mile warranty. And why would her insurance cover a mechanical failure? You cant make a insurance claim on a new engine or transmission for your gas car this is no different.
This time, it was the battery. It was old and the puddle soak was the final straw. The fact Tesla wouldn't work with her speaks volumes about battery life. In general they do last fairly long, but occasionally or due to abuse, they die early which necessitates buying a new or used one at high cost.
Purchasing an old battery-powered vehicle unless you get a hell of a deal almost free ! remember to get a price on having the battery reworked saw on a show that it was around $5.000.00 for an 8-year-old Tesla battery, how this makes any sense at all you still got a 10-year-old vehicle that will soon need Electrical parts replaced best would be is Lease one see if you like it
A dealership replacement engine isn't any cheaper ,anywhere from 12k to 15k , everyone knows it's almost triple at a dealership repair then say a ma or pa shop.
The problem is that they aren't many electric garages out there. So most people don't have many options. I hope Rich from Rich rebuild opens more of his electric shops in more states.
I’m a big Tesla fan but I would’ve read the stuff upfront and crossed it off I’m leaving with all my parts when it comes to like a car. Of course, Juan could always go John work on them
Susan authorized Tesla to do the job, then wanted Tesla to undo the job because she found a cheaper deal. It doesn't work that way. If I were Tesla, I would have charged her the labor cost to install and uninstall the old battery which would have cost a lot. Gas or electric, never drive in a puddle of water in the first place. The insurance company usually have tactics to get out of a sour deal and had the right excuse to not pay up.
One other thing no one talked about. Some parts come with a core charge. Which is the part that gets replaced on your car. But the old one is returned to the parts warehouse. Whether they rebuild it or strip it for parts there’s a fee to get that part back. And at the time that you write your service order with the service writer is when you ask for your parts to be returned to you that are replaced. Now parts that have a core charge. You pay for that core charge and they will be more than happy to give you the part. As far as these batteries go. I am assuming there is no core fee. Because it’s under the guidelines of hazardous waste. It’s like asking for your old oil back. No shop will do that. Now this is why it’s important to ask for the parts back before they ever work on the car. Because then they can tell you. Or explain to you why or why not you’ll either get your parts back or you won’t. But you know upfront before they ever check the car.
She can’t afford $18k for a new battery because she spent all the money on lip fillers/botox. Maybe she got bit by a mosquito waiting at the charging station? We can’t confirm this but *poor woman, hopefully the settlement behind closed doors was enough.* 😂
A car that lasts 8 years is not “good for the environment”. Even if they lasted half as long as a normal car they still almost all run on coal fired energy. We stopped running vehicles on coal a century ago…
Why do people think driving EVs are way cheaper I mean this woman literally was charged $18,000 to replace a battery you could literally buy a whole car for that much people are so stupid
Her stupidity was to buy one of the first Tesla made which had an expired Warranty. No car maker will replace an engine or Transmission on a 10+ yr old car. These batteries have an 8 yr Warranty.
With story like this I can see why Tesla is laying off workers now. It seems more and more customers are avoiding Tesla's bad vehicles and awful service.
Any car maker is like this after your warranty is over. Do you expect a free battery replacement after the warranty is expired? Unless there's an electric garage in your state, I don't recommend buying an old EV out of warranty.
“Susan bought a 2013 model s” shows a 2020 model 3
They couldn't show her Telsa because Telsa still had it.
@@NextNate03 but they have footage of a old S later in the video why not use that
@@NextNate03Umm, they can show another Model S like they did later in video.
The car you showed in the beginning is a model 3
sounds like a problem with the insurance not Tesla.
So the insurance company are the owners of Telsa?
Telsa refused to give her 10k USD battery back.

Yes you can make insurance claims on stuff like. It depends on the insurance company.
Not everybody can afford a brand new vehicle.
Karen.
Typical insurance company. Great at collecting premiums and wiggling out of paying claims.

2013…. No wonder.
2014 car s better one.. not 2013.

We know if she and Tesla are quiet, it means they come to an agreement. It just take social media to be involved
Lol the Tesla was 11 years old!!! 😂🤣
This is an insurance problem
I wanted to buy a Tesla before this video report
You can't claim a bew battery or engine from any car maker on a 10+ yr old vehicle with no warranty lol.

Tesla needs to help her
Yeah I’ll just keep my 08 Honda..

Why drive through a flooded street in the first place
She said she drove through a puddle.
It is very normal to drive through puddles, especially during and after it rains.
Tesla fired too many people. it is not her fault
Just so that she could file a insurance claim

There's no extended warranty plans on batteries.
