I can't believe this exists. This is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.
+Chris Dorsey Thank you so much !!
Beautiful Work! This beautiful modern rendition/cover is based on the ancient Gregorian Chant called the 'Alleluia, Vir Dei Benedictus' which was traditionally set for chanting on the Feast Days of Major Holidays for Celebrations of Saint Benedict! Because of its correlation/connection primarily with only celebrations or commemorations of Saint Benedict alone, rather than for a more universal-usage, this "Alleluia" Chant has mostly gone forgotten and neglected. So thank you for this lively rebirth which you've given it in a modern presentation full of such new fresh life and vigor!
Thank you so much!
No problem! But I've made a small mistake! The tune/tone for this 'Alleluia' was not in danger of being lost because it is also traditionally assigned for 1 Sunday of the Year but to a different text. Instead of the text used in this wonderful recording ('Alleluia, Vir Dei Benedictus') this other usage of the tune/tone is put to the text of 'Alleluia, Domine in Virtute Tua'. So, being officially assigned once a year on a particular Sunday, the tune/tone would never be forgotten. Whereas, if the tone was only associated with the 'Alleluia, Vir Dei Benedictus' text, it really would have been neglected since only the Benedictine Monks, followers of the monastic traditions and rules of Saint Benedict would have maintained it for their own observance customs and traditions. Which would have been less dispersed than the once yearly Sunday performance.
Do you have sheet music for the edition and performance you've created?! I would love to perform it with some friends! Thank you
I do! hit me up at jamesmichaelrose@hotmail.co.uk
Rose and Robson knock another one out of the park. I'm a brass player and could see this go beautifully as an instrumental as well.
I have been watching this all day. James, Sam, Sereta and anyone who was involved in making this; THANK YOU!!!!!
I struggle with Faith, but if Heaven awaits me some day, I hope this is what it sounds like.
Faith in Yeshua the savior of the world will get you there! You are loved by him alone!
Lean into Him. He awaits you. :)
Anyone legitimate does. People who go through life never questioning their faith aren't taking it very seriously, I think.
I'm a 19 year old guy and I'm in tears so you know its good
If God was to sing and play for us, this is what it would sound like. The best thing my ears has ever heard... AMAZING JOB!!
+Dontaniel Kimbrough Aw thank you !!
That low B on the bass felt good, I like the overall subtlety/ambiance of the performance, and of course the harmony! Great work folks.
breathtaking. really this is next level. deserves all the views in the world
Excellent! Also the instruments support but never intrude; James, your video editing just gets even better each time. Wonderful audio mixdown of all these tracks. AND…
...Spiritually it warms and comforts my heart, and that's the most important thing: its ministry. Only Heaven will reveal how many changed lives resulted from all of you, and your God-given talent! A precious thing, this gift of music!
Every time I come back to this I am overwhelmed. This MUST be what it sounds like in heavan.
Grandios !!! Bitte macht damit weiter, der Gregorianische Choral hat Eure Interpretation verdient.
You guys can harmonize so well together....tears.....😭😭😭😭😭

Please, never stop making new content. This is something that my ears, heart, and soul need. I can always hear new ways that music is expressed, in a very genuine way here. God bless you, James. Thank you for doing what you were created to do.
