Thank you for the information and seeing you and your guide dog work helps me know what it will feel like with one after I graduate high school and start collage

Do you work?? Can you do a video on your experience if you went to college and/or getting a job and such? I’m in college right now, and it’s complicated trying to find a niche when you’re blind, trying to find something that you can do and makes sense for your family and such.

+Madelyn Loyd I do. I'm on a medical leave right now from a part-time position at our local target store. But, my professional background is IN vocational rehabilitation counseling. I've been home with our daughters for quite some time now, but worked for two General disability state vocational rehabilitation agencies and then one blind specific state vocational rehabilitation agency. So, my bachelors degree is in psychology (would likely do something different if I had to do it over) and my master's is in vocational rehabilitation counseling. If I were to pursue a line of work different from this, it would likely be social work, and it would be HIGHLY likely that I would pursue a position in research and academia.
I'll be glad to do a video on my educational experiences! Or tips and suggestions! Can you tell me what things you find most frustrating or challenging and I'll be glad to try to focus it!

Could you also do a video on how you make your blogs? I’d really like to start a channel, but not sure what camera equipment I need and editing software or how to edit. Like, obviously I have my camera and such, just not sure what I need to make the best vlog

+Madelyn Loyd sure!!! I film with a pretty simple Sony video camera. I also sometimes use a first gen go pro hero to capture some of Figaro's view, but I'm waiting to do more of that angle for a gimble that will help stabilize the camera... as it is when I've filmed with the go pro on him, it ends up with so much movement it makes people seasick. I edit with a MacBook Pro laptop and I began using iMovie but now edit with Final Cut Pro.
There's a huge learning curve, at least there has been for me! But, if it's something you want to try--the best advice truly is to jump in and try it!

What editing program do you use? I've always used iMovie, but find it complicated. I don't know if that's because it really is complicated or if I'm just a slow learner. Lol!

I began using iMovie and now use Final Cut Pro. Both have been a HUGE learning process for me and it feels like it takes me ages to edit, and while my hubs has offered to do it I’ve not given up control yet LOL. I should. I really should. 😂😂😂

CraftyBlindChick that’s so nice of him to offer!! But I can understand not wanting to give up doing it yourself. Practice is the only to get beyond that learning curve, I suppose. 💁🏼‍♀️

Have u ever looked into a monocular

+Flower Sparks yes. I've used a monocular and bioptic lenses also at different points in my life. The monocular isn't really useful at this juncture. I've come to LOVE using the app Seeing AI, which will read signs and short text or even longer print documents, and will scan and identify items with a barcode scanner! It's wonderful and much like having a monocular that reads outloud. 😂. I really appreciate the suggestion! ❤️
