The best male vocalist on the planet and has been for the past 25 years or so...and it is not even close. I have seen him live 11 times from the front row, met him and his family and been to his home twice for Barn Bash events, I have also met his mom and dad. He is genuine, humble and so talented.
Was recently blessed to see and hear David live at the Christmas Barn Bash and it even exceeded my expectations. For me when I hear him sing it's like hearing the voice of GOD. He actually sang Nessun Dorma as he said they were a little ahead of time going into the intermission. What an amazing added bonus. Seeing David live was on my bucket list and was the most moving concert of my life. Thank you David!
"NO MORE NIGHT", and the best vocal interpretation and performance of "O HOLY NIGHT!!" When searching for this particular performance David Phelps wears a green sweater as he performs in a beautiful auditorium! Loved your reaction and kind words!! THANK YOU!! From Minnesota.
Look! It's not pop. It's not opera. It's POPERA. The opera purist will hate it and the pop fans will find it somewhat bizarre. The David Phelps people will adore it.
I got to hear this live 2 years ago. Was about 20 feet from him. And the music started for song. And I went whoo hoo🎉🎉. He looked at me and just smiled😂
This man is the greatest singer on earth, and the song that solidified it for me is him singing It Is Well With My Soul in Jerusalem live. Literally the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
I've listened to David Phelps since the 1990s... I would absolutely love for you to go down this rabbit hole... He actually does a wonderful duet with his daughter Maggie Beth and the song is called " Water "
He’s 53 now and has released 4 new projects in the last 4 years. All brilliant. He sings with both his daughters on For Those Tears I Died and his arrangement of the Kansas classic Dust In the Wind. You’ll flip over both. The Kansas member who wrote the song said it’s the best arrangement he’s ever heard. He sings with all four of his kids on the newly released Go Rest High on That Mountain.
I have heard David sing this twice in concerts, and it was awesome! Standing ovation every time! You may enjoy listening to Austin Brown & Rob Lundquist (Home Free) do this song. It's amazing!
Love it when you react to David Phelps! Love how you appreciate his nuances in his control. He's just amazing. You should definitely do No More Night. It's one of his staples and the performance on the Gaither channel is absolutely stunning. But there are no shortage of stunning performances as you said... I Have Nothing, The Dream, We Shall Behold Him, Let Freedom Ring (with GVB). The best one with his daughter is Water (it's very musical theater, you'd love it), but he also just released an great version of Dust in the Wind with both his daughters where they do incredible harmony throughout. The writer of the song contacted them and said he saw it on RUclips and that it is his favorite cover of it.
He has sung with both of his daughters, but Maggie Beth does a beautiful solo on He's Still My Child. She also does For These Tears I Died with her sister Callie and, of course, David. It's beautiful! For David doing classical, he has a cd called Classics, and he does a few on that cd.
I saw him for the third time (going back over 15 years) about two months ago (and he did "Nessum Dorma"), and even with (at least to me) obvious vocal tiredness (from touring), he was still the best vocalist that I'm aware of. I had the chance to actually cook for him, his family, band and crew for the first two shows I saw of his, and he is truly an INCREDIBLY humble and self-effacing person.
David has been my favorite vocalist alive since 1996-1997 when he first joined the vocal band. Baylor university’s best vocal performance graduate. His cover of I have nothing is marvelous.
Check out David Phelps with the Gaither Vocal Band at Carnegie Hall after 9/11. Now that one will give you goosebumps for sure! There are other versions on RUclips, but that one is the best.
A few suggestions to listen to, displaying his incomparable vocal artistry in any genre: Just As I Am (David original); Moonlight (based on Moonlight Sonata, his range!); Unchained Melody cover; I have Nothing cover; No More Night (absolute classic David, he ends every live concert with it)... I could go on and on. Oh, and he does a duet with his son Grant called "Eye to Eye". Love the lyrics on this one
There's been many songs suggested, and I agree with all of them. May I please add "For These Tears I Died" (sings with his daughters), "Can't Help Falling In Love", "Hello Beautiful", "Song for Sinners", "Just As I Am", "Fly Away", and "Let Freedom Ring" (done a few months after September 11, 2001 at Carnegie Hall). As a subscriber, i enjoy your reactions so much and your facial expressions when you are listening to a really good song/singer. Thank you for reacting to David Phelps. He's my favorite, and Austin Brown, formerly of Home Free, is my second choice.
David is a contemporary Christian artist who was a part of the Gaither Vocal Band and still very involved in the Gaither Projects. He is also Classically Trained and studied at Baylor University in Texas, where he resides with his wife Lori and children! I’ve known David the last 25 years and actually used to sing background for him! He is truly a blessed vocalist also incredible writer and arranger! In full voice he has 4 octaves!
How about "The end of the beginning". David has no equals except for 2 very talented tenors. Austin Brown formerly of Home Free----gorgeous voice as does E J Cardona from Voctave. There are NO others in the same breath, but I still believe David is #1. I finally was able to see him perform live this year. Quite a thrill and quite a show. The man is actually very humorous and involves his audience.
Now listen to Bring Him Home. He does an amazing job or Let Freedom Ring live at Carnegie Hall with the Gaither Vocal Band or you'll never walk alone 😊
All of the suggested songs above are great! I suggest you listen to “Mary did you know”, his acoustic version and then his duet with Charlotte Ritchie “fall in your knees”!
Oh my, thank you for my favorite male singer on planet earth ! More David please. And dont forget Lara Fabian, the greatest female singer on planet earth ! Thank you Danielle !
I once heard you say you were from KY. David has a "Barn Bash" every Labor Day at his farm in Culleoka, TN, just south of Franklin and Nashville. It is held in and old dairy barn about a hundred feet from his house. It last all weekend and you get fed, too. He does a Christmas Bash, too. His concerts are family affairs, with his daughters, son, wife, sister, and other relatives. You should react to David sing, You Will Never Walk Alone. But be warned it is very emotional. As the video starts, the woman sitting on the stool is his sister Sherrie Denise Phelps Proctor. The video was recorded in July as they both knew she was losing her battle with cancer. She died two months later.
You gotta react to Wintley Phipps singing Amazing Grace. He is one of the people who sings with the Gaither Vocal Band, which David Phelps is a part of. You will be SHOOK
this is a very good classical crossover rendition of Nessun Dorma - for the quintessential operatic version check out Luciano Pavarotti ...... just sayin'
Rarely does David use his head voice. He didn't in this song. It was mixed once or twice. He can easily hit F#5 and not use his head voice unless it's austained.
Danielle, could you review David Phelps singing of Whitney Houston's song "I Have Nothing"? Someone once said it was the hardest pop song ever to sing. He sings it here: ruclips.net/video/h5b39F-9458/видео.html

The GOAT!! In any genre
I heard him recently sing this in person. Oh my, so much better than any video on RUclips. So moving!
The humbleness in this guy is just amazing. No sign of cockiness absolutely amazing ❤❤❤
I never get tired of listening to David. Humble is right, what a good man!!!

Wooo MN
@fitzgeraldfilmsMN COLD minnesota!
Phelps has the perfect blend of classical and contemporary inflections. Might be the best voice of his generation - vastly under-rated!
Look! It's not pop. It's not opera. It's POPERA. The opera purist will hate it and the pop fans will find it somewhat bizarre. The David Phelps people will adore it.
Welcome back! There is a David Phelps must do...'I Have Nothing' his cover of the Whitney Classic!!!!!
I got to hear this live 2 years ago. Was about 20 feet from him. And the music started for song. And I went whoo hoo🎉🎉. He looked at me and just smiled😂

I mean Brian McKnight is pretty good

David and his family have a yearly Christmas show at his farm in Tennessee. Great experience and nothing short of outstanding!
Welcome back! Thank you for sharing something from David Phelps. Please keep sharing more from him and God Bless!

David is phenomenal! Thank you for featuring him. Check out SOMEWHERE from his new stories and songs Volume 2 album😊
This was FABULOUS -- both his singing and your reaction.
Not even joking, nothing will hit the same as David. I’m not even religious and he touches me in ways that aren’t human.
I have heard David sing this twice in concerts, and it was awesome! Standing ovation every time! You may enjoy listening to Austin Brown & Rob Lundquist (Home Free) do this song. It's amazing!

David has many great songs in
Stories and Songs Volumes 1 & 2.

he sings with a tear in his voice
Take a look at David’s cover of Whitney Houston’s, I Have Nothing.
David has been my favorite vocalist alive since 1996-1997 when he first joined the vocal band. Baylor university’s best vocal performance graduate.
His cover of I have nothing is marvelous.
Please react to The Gaither Vocal Band singing “LET FREEDOM RING” David steals the show
Every time he sings, that is God speaking through him. Pure God given talent. No other explanation.
Check out David Phelps with the Gaither Vocal Band at Carnegie Hall after 9/11. Now that one will give you goosebumps for sure! There are other versions on RUclips, but that one is the best.
What a great reaction! Thank you.............a couple of other recommendations of David Phelps sections: "No More Night" and "We Shall Behold Him"
A few suggestions to listen to, displaying his incomparable vocal artistry in any genre: Just As I Am (David original); Moonlight (based on Moonlight Sonata, his range!); Unchained Melody cover; I have Nothing cover; No More Night (absolute classic David, he ends every live concert with it)... Also to hear the “David Belt” as I call it and hear the top of his range listen to him do “Life Life Boat” and “He’s Alive”!!!!
There are videos of him singing several operatic arias that are spectacular.
"Just As I Am" from Birmingham. "The Dream" from Classic.
Both are excellent suggestions!!
David is my favorite tenor of all time! I hope you react to David Phelp's Most High and Resonate Notes! Thank you.
Now listen to Bring Him Home. He does an amazing job or Let Freedom Ring live at Carnegie Hall with the Gaither Vocal Band or you'll never walk alone 😊
Your facial expressions are the same as mine every time I hear this man sing! Please see him live if you can!
He always seems to have the best time!!
All of the suggested songs above are great! I suggest you listen to “Mary did you know”, his acoustic version and then his duet with Charlotte Ritchie “fall in your knees”!

Mio Bambino Caro too by David !
If you are looking for Christmas songs from him I suggest Fall On Your Knees, We Are The Reason, Hark The Hareld and Ave Maria
I would ❤LOVE ❤ to hear you react to Annie Haslam in her youth - say from the 70's. She sang for a British progressive rock band named Renaissance.
my favorite from David is gentle savior.
Please react to David Phelps singing:
Dead Man Rising
Just As I Am
He’s Alive
I Have Nothing
All three songs from Stories and Songs Volume one.
No More Night from Davis Phelps please!!
Time for "No More Night", and "Water" with his daughter Maggie Beth!
Love your reactions! You should react to David Phelps cover of "I Have Nothing"! :)
you need to do a reaction on Maxwell Thorpe. Nessun Dorma has been done to death.
Also Mary Did You Know By jordan Smith
You should react to End of the Beginning LIVE by David Phelps
this is a very good classical crossover rendition of Nessun Dorma - for the quintessential operatic version check out Luciano Pavarotti ...... just sayin'
Please do Song for sinners....absobutly stunning
Nessun Dorma, was written by Puccini. It’s from the final act of one of his operas.
Please tell me that you already knew this……
Ms. Danielle please react to Morissette "Ang Paghuwat"
O Holy night reaction obviously
Just found your reaction. Let Freedom Ring please
Do no more night by him live.

Dimash - stranger?? Where is reaction??❤❤
Will u marry me? Ur beautiful and funny. 😂
Not gonna argue about his ability, but I wasn't feeling the style.
Nice, but to my ears Luciano Pavarotti was much better.
Certainly wouldn't make the cut if trying out to sing opera. Didn't enjoy rendition at all. So many better versions - even a metal singer.
Have you ever heard this song before you stop it at the most important Part more than once shame on you
