Definitely react to "No More Night"... I've been listening to David since he started with Bill Gather in the '90's... He has so many good songs that you should listen to... None of them are bad choice... Great reaction, Danielle...Keep being awesome.....
David is my favorite male vocalist regardless of genre. There is nothing he can't sing, and he always blows me away! Thanks for reacting to him. I hope you do more! You won't be disappointed.
It doesn’t get more angelic than that performance!! He does know how to have dramatic space and his performances! Thank you Danielle for reacting to this one!
So good to see you react to David again! Other songs that are incredible that you should check out No More Night, We Shall Behold Him, The Dream, I Have Nothing... there's so many AWESOME songs. Also, one that is just unreal is Let Freedom Ring that he performed with the Gaither Vocal Band, lots of great harmonies with some of the greatest voices in gospel music (and of course David sweeps in and blows the roof off the place). Can't wait to see which one you do next. You're reactions are great!
He just turned 54 and is just as fabulous as he ever was. I’ve seen him 3xs in the last year. There is never enough David. As for songs, there is a 25 year rabbit hole library of songs here on RUclips of his solo career, as well as his time with the southern gospel group Gaither Vocal Band. My personal favorites are just about anything from this Classics DVD, Song For Sinners and I Have Nothing from his recent album GameChanger. Anything from his recent Stories and Songs DVD. The list goes on and on and on…. I know you’ve done O Holy Night from 25 years ago but his version from the Christmas with David Phelps DVD will rip your heart out. All these from his solo career are on his channel. Btw, that was his sister Kari on trumpet and all 4 of his kids are Uber talented, as well.
I know this is Christmas season and not Easter. But I have never found a bad time to hear David Phelps sing "He's alive" from the tent meeting. He gives a new twist to an "old" song that put a whole new light to it for me the first time I heard him sing it. I have heard many singers, and he has a rare gift for making his listeners feel every word right along with him. Amazing! His voice is so smooth it seems almost effortless to him, but I know the hours and even years of training and hard work that went into making it sound like that. WOW!!!
Good Morning ~ just found your site this morning and am thrilled that you are listening to David. He is phenomenal, not only in song but his whole family life. He works at his farm in TN, has a studio at the farm and has weekend shows a couple times a year. Quick note: The trumpeter on this song is his sister Kari Lee who has played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra along with many other amazing performances. His whole family is musical!
I was lucky to see David in person a couple of months ago. He did not disappoint. Only wish he had done a few more songs i knew. His voice is phenomenal and he was at complete peace performing. Actually very entertaining even when not singing. Great sense of humor and interacted nicely with the audience. Get the chance, make sure you see him.
As Rush use to say, With talent on loan from God. David's talent is on loan from God. 1 or 2 other vocalists in the world are in the same calibre as David. My opionion we are blessed to be able to listen to his voice today. May be another generation before anything remotely close to him. Thank you David and thank you Lord❤❤❤
The greatest male vocalist in the world and has been for the past twenty five years. I know...I have seen him eleven times from the front row, met him multiple times as well as his family and have been to his home twice (Barn Bash events) twice. He has no equal!
The horn player is his sister. The whole family is so talented. Sadly he lost one of his sisters to cancer several years ago. The dang, you’ll never walk alone in concert mere months before her death.
Try and find “There Is a River” with David sitting on the stage while he sings. It is on the Legacy Of Love album. Also the same night he sings “Gentle Savior” and his sister plays the trumpet.
There are so many songs done by David it makes it difficult to choose because, imo, they are all fantastic! Here's a few: Let Freedom Ring with the Gaither Vocal Band at Carnegie Hall a few months after 9/11, Song For Sinners, Hello Beautiful, End of the Beginning (i believe this was done at Carnegie Hall), Just As I Am, Live Like A King, and, well, any of his songs whether alone, with the GVB, or his daughters. He's terrific! Thanks for coming back for a David Phelps reaction! More please!
Danielle, you should react to another song on this same live album, "You Will Never Walk Alone," but do it knowing that the blond woman sitting in the chair is his older sister, who is losing her battle with cancer. they both knew that this would be their last performance together. She died two months later. It makes the song even potent.
Fantastic reaction and teaching moments. I don't think I've ever heard anyone do crescendo, decrescendo and pianissimo better than David. I've watched him get people to their feet just belting high notes in the middle of songs. Just incredible. More David reactions please.
Do more David Phelps soon! You won't be sorry. "No More Nights" and "The End of the Beginning" (which he wrote and percfomed at Carnegie Hall, are superb suggestions. Also "I Who Have Nothing" is stunningly good.
Another wonderful reaction Danielle. His talent is awe inspiring and such a beautiful song. Someone else suggested it, but I would also like to suggest “Water” with him and his daughter Maggie Beth. It is so extraordinary.
How wonderful it is to hear God be praised by such a beautiful voice. Imagine when the countless multitude in heaven with perfect voices never ceases to sing praises to the Lamb!
If you want more David Phelps, may I suggest 'Water' with Maggie Beth, 'For Those Tears I Died ' with Maggie and his other daughter Cassie, and 'Fly Again' and 'I Who Have Nothing' and definitely 'No More Night'
David is the best tenor in the business and he's a wonderful Christian man! As a vocal coach you should check out his most high and resonate notes, it's insane how high he gets, your jaw will drop I guarantee it! Thank you! Oh, also No More Night by David is amazing!
Hi Danielle, I'm glad you're enjoying and reacting to David Phelps; when I worked at a Christian bookstore we had all of the Gaither Vocal Band before David and when he joined; we also had some of his solo material. I think you would love and appreciate: David Phelp's Most High And Resonate Notes on RUclips, No More Night, End Of The Beginning, I Have Nothing. Thank you!
Well, I found this and took a look as I'm a great David Phelps fan. It was an enjoyable video, your comments were great and I loved your reactions, you are absolutely adorable!
I'm amazed that it seems as though no one, not even you, Danielle, has commented about the rather unusual combination of trumpet and violin accompaniment! Not sure I've EVER heard that combination before. How did that trumpet stay so soft and in the background or else in balance with the violin! I'd talk about David Phelps's singing, too, because that was just spectacular and delicate, but most have already lauded him so it's not necessary for me to add more. Love his ability and faith that grounds his belief and performances. But hats off to our two instrumentalists and David's choice of that combination! Agree?
Let me say also that you should review the work he has done with the Gaither Vocal Band. Its one thing to hear David singing solo, and quite another to hear him harmonizing with some of the best of the best vocalists around. My favorite line up of the Gaither Vocal Band will Always be, Bill Gaither, (Bass) Mark Lowry (Baritone) Guy Penrod (Lead) and David Phelps (Tenor) . Check out songs like, I Believe in a Hill called Mt Calvary, from Atlanta Homecoming, Mary Did You Know from Hawaiian Homecoming, Alpha and Omega, Then from Harmony in the Heartland, House of Gold, featuring Mark, David, Guy, and Michael English. These guys are among the most powerful voices in Gospel music. All have spent many many years doing quartet style music as well as Solo work and have some of the Tightest Harmonies you will ever hear.
You commented once that you'd never heard of David Phelps. He was contented to sing gospel music with the Gaither Vocal Band for many years. You mentioned the "choir". Actually, they are all singers in several quartets, family groups. Bill Gaither organized "Homecoming" concerts for Southern Gospel artists. Check out "Let Freedom Ring", Carnegie Hall shortly after 9/11. Some time ago David went out on his own ... we've had him in our church in Cincinnati several times. He is mind boggling in person!
Great video and thank you so much for reacting to David! I don't think I've ever heard a song from him that wasn't amazing so anything you react to will be a treat. That said if you want to try something a bit different from this one you could try "David Phelps - Just As I Am from Legacy of Love (Official Music Video)" or "David Phelps - Goodbye World, Goodbye from Hymnal (Official Music Video)" or "David Phelps - I Have Nothing from Stories & Songs Vol. I (Official Music Video)" which is his cover of Whitney Houston. I'm so looking forward to this rabbit hole!!
Bit of a different genre but I’d love to watch your reaction to Devin Townsend’s live version of either Kingdom or Deadhead. His voice is so incredibly versatile and healthy. The amazing thing is that he has been able to maintain his vocal dexterity and tone for over 30 years.
Please listen to his most high and resonate notes on youtube, your jaw will be continuously on the floor! As a vocal coach you'll enjoy this I guarantee it!
Like David Phelps? Listen to "Let Freedom Ring" by the Gaither Vocal Band. David Phelps sings with the group. HOWEVER. There are different versions floating around. You want the one recorded at Carnegie Hall, NY in 2002. If David is thin and wearing a light blue shirt and dark grey suit, you have the best version. Enjoy!
Wes Hampton said Phelpsy was a musical robot. Never made any mistakes, even in rehearsals. God's gift to all of us.
Definitely react to "No More Night"... I've been listening to David since he started with Bill Gather in the '90's... He has so many good songs that you should listen to... None of them are bad choice... Great reaction, Danielle...Keep being awesome.....
You should hear his daughter sing, they sing a duet called Water. Definately worth checking out. Thanks Danielle.
Can't you see our Heavenly Father sitting with his eyes closed listening to David shaking his head enjoy his creation so much..🙏🙏🙏
David is my favorite male vocalist regardless of genre. There is nothing he can't sing, and he always blows me away! Thanks for reacting to him. I hope you do more! You won't be disappointed.
This brought me to tears! David always does this to me. I love his voice ❤❤❤❤
It doesn’t get more angelic than that performance!! He does know how to have dramatic space and his performances! Thank you Danielle for reacting to this one!
"We Shall Behold Him." All his songs are spectacular, but this one is a soul giving everything he is blessed with back to his Lord!
So good to see you react to David again! Other songs that are incredible that you should check out No More Night, We Shall Behold Him, The Dream, I Have Nothing... there's so many AWESOME songs. The violin is David's favorite instrument & he said he will always keep it in his music - as long as he can!
I agree with Steve, The duet with Maggie Beth called Water, is such an amazing and moving performance, and one you do not want to miss!
David Phelps, End of the Beginning, live at Carnegie Hall. I believe he penned the words to the song himself. Amazing song.
So much control in his voice... heavenly
I love your reactions to David - there are so so many to choose from. How about Nessun Dorma? Amazing!!!!!
As Rush use to say, With talent on loan from God. David's talent is on loan from God. 1 or 2 other vocalists in the world are in the same calibre as David. Goosebumpsville!!!!!!
The greatest male vocalist in the world and has been for the past twenty five years. I know...I have seen him eleven times from the front row, met him multiple times as well as his family and have been to his home twice (Barn Bash events) twice. He has no equal!
Many are suggesting 'No More Night' and others. One other that is with the Gaither Vocal Band is "Let Freedom Ring." That one gives me chills.
The Dream and Moonlight are awesome too!
His Nessun Dorma is amazing!!
agreed. She hasn't even tapped into the talent
There are times when he sings those solitary flowing noted that he sounds like the notes played on clear crystal glasses.
You should really react to more David Phelps. He has so many wonderful songs out there.
Yes please …. :)

Absolutely beautiful! Magnificent control. I love the arrangement too.
Thanks Danielle!
❤ 🎶
No More Night is a great one by him!
I would really suggest “Omio Babbino Caro” for David Phelps.
It usually sang by Female sopranos
Thanks so much for reacting! Definitely one of my favorite singers. Subscription added!
superb performance. effortless.
Do more David Phelps soon! You won't be sorry. "No More Nights" and "The End of the Beginning" (which he wrote and percfomed at Carnegie Hall, are superb suggestions. Also "I Who Have Nothing" is stunningly good.
You need to hear him with the Gaither’s singing “Let Freedom Ring” at Carnegie Hall.

I believe I've heard that those 2 ladies are his sisters and they were a very musical family that used to play and sing together at home growing up
Thanks for your review!! Love it
Listen to his version of Nessum Dorma. Fantastic

I have listened to David since he started working with Bill Gaither. Fabulous voice !!
Thank you ! More David please......
Here is another awesome one - "The End of The Beginning". #subscriptionsquad
Just As I am - David phelps
You need to listen to this!
I would suggest listening to David’s rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. Just him, a piano, and a cello. Breathtaking!
I second this one.
I personally think he sings I Have Nothing better than Whitney and we all know how great a singer she was.
I agree….amazing!
Yes! He does an amazing job on this song!
Whitney considered him as her favorite tenor I heard.
Great video and thank you so much for reacting to David! I don't think I've ever heard a song from him that wasn't amazing so anything you react to will be a treat. I'm so looking forward to this rabbit hole!!
We need more DMS videos!!!!!!! ❤

Bit of a different genre but I’d love to watch your reaction to Devin Townsend’s live version of either Kingdom or Deadhead. His voice is so incredibly versatile and healthy. The amazing thing is that he has been able to maintain his vocal dexterity and tone for over 30 years.
Let freedom ring or just as I am please!! Saludos desde Chile!
Try No More Night, Let Freedom Ring (with Gaither Vocal Band), Live Like a King.
Please listen to his most high and resonate notes on youtube, your jaw will be continuously on the floor! As a vocal coach you'll enjoy this I guarantee it!
Highly recommend David Phelps singing I Have Nothing in Whitney's key
Check out his Whitney Houston "I Have Nothing" cover that he just did recently!
Enjoy!
Definitely react to Hark the Herald it's one of my favorite Christmas songs by him.
He could sing the phone book and I'd swoon.
You will love "The Prayer" - Sister Duet - Lucy & Martha Thomas. You should check it out.
You need to listen to David singing I have nothing!!!!!
He's Alive
Please react to David’s Song for Sinners.. amazing
Please react to Maggie Phelps singing “My Child”.
He could sing a menu at McDonald’s and it would be beautiful
How is your toddler doing? Well I hope
Please react to Water by David Phelps. He sings with his daughter
I do not know if you have seen it yet but another must see is “I’ve just seen Jesus” by Him and Lana Ranahan
Danielle! 4th impact has a new US Single called “DISTORTED”. I’ve been waiting for your reaction 🥺🥺💕🙏🏽
#subscriptionsquad love your channel. I have a few more David Phelps songs for you. You know what you’re talking about.
React to come to Jesus with David Phelps
Love the singing and your reaction. Are those Harry Potter books on the shelf? 🙄
Can you react to more Joshua Bassett music like sorry, lifeline, sad songs in a hotel room
That’s his sister playing the trumpet.
Plz don't say that Phelpsy has great head voice. He only sings with the gift he has been given. Trust me... No head voice... Ever ❤
I bet you're a handful for your husband. I too hear it . I love a woman who gets it. 💗
Can you please react to We Shall Behold Him by David Phelps. Please please please.
Violin ruins it for me. He’s still incredibly. Sumi jo does an incredible version of Ave Maria.
Check out David Phelps no more night live, not a better vocal performance imo
You kept pausing it right before that final instrumental pluck. Kind of ruined it for me.
I'd comment, but you never respond.
Ppl who do this, usually respond. Unless ur not looking for recognition. I love what you do.
