The main thing is to open the amp for its natural overdrive and keep Fuzz knob rolled off on the pedal for a best guit vol range and wah interact, no matter before/after fuzz. Wah before - more vocal, wah after - more filter sweep tone.
I always leave Wah last in my Hendrix/SRV set, even after Octave and Univibe. Always FuzzFace -> Octavio -> Univibe -> Wah -> Marshall Amp!!! Sounds great!
Came for the comparison, stayed for the playing. I think I need to try fuzz first as I've always gone with wah into fuzz. Lately I'm noticing issues with germanium fuzz faces not playing nicely, even with a buffer in between. The sweep doesn't sound right.
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 I added an input buffer pot to my fuzz face today and that cured the issue for me. Looks like the issue falls to the fuzz face style circuit and no resistance to incoming output from other pedals. In my case at least. Happy playing dude 🤘
With your talent sounds great both ways, but maybe a little better with the fuzz first. What model Vox is that? I’m looking to buy one. I only have a wah in my Boss Me-50 and I just recently bought a fuzz pedal so I need a wah now.
Would you also run a Tone Bender into a wah as well? Also would you put overdrive, delay, envelope filter, and then Leslie? I've got a Rotosphere and I've always had it last in the chain but it can go in the effects loop. I've never tried it that way but was curious what you would do. Do you consider a Leslie the same as a Uni Vibe?
I've always preferred to wah my fuzz rather than fuzz my wah. It has more clarity to my ears. My signal path goes wah, uni-vibe, octavia, fuzz face, compressor, noise reduction, plate reverb, analog delay. So it doesn't matter if I'm using my vintage Jen wahs or my RMC Picture Wah.
I think I got it backwards… My crybaby comes first before my Shanks ii fuzz . I’m afraid I’m missing out a load of tone since the Shanks is silicon . Thank you for this video !
electronically, your fuzz face will always want to see signal direct from a guitar pick-up. And the wah will not like being loaded down by a small input impedance of a fuzz face afterwards.
I'm running a totally different set up so I'm sure that counts for something but putting my Wah AFTER fuzz sounds like bantha poo Doo. But yours sounds amazing.
I don’t like Wah into fuzz but it sounds better if you do it like Stevie. Fuzz tubescreamer Wah. Changes the way the fuzz and Wah sound with the tubescreamer buffer between them
Most excellent Nik, this video pointed me in the direction of your Wah Mod video, thank you. I encourage anyone with a Wah-Wah Pedal to check this video out. VINTAGE VOX CRY BABY WAH-WAH MODS! Maximize the wah-wah tone!
Is it possible for the POT inside of the Wah to just die? Have not been abusing it. Barely even using it. It’s the Ben Wah. It still turns on, and has the EQ “bottom” of the Wah sound, BUT, the sweep is no longer working? I checked to make sure it wasn’t just the POT coming loose of the teeth. Haven’t gotten in there and started messing, yet. Don’t know if I can fix it? First Wah that I really liked the sound of. 😩
Hey Nik, I was wondering how you get your wah wah to turn on and off quick (arouns 9 minutes in) without having the pedal be flopping around loose when in the up position? I’ve been messing around with the tension spring to no avail. Love your vids man
Lol..why..fuzz is designed to interact with your pickups, not the amp so much, also modulation effects always sound better at the end of the chain..imo..it's all pretty ambiguous, but please explain your comment about cables.i understand that a long cable rolls off some freq.
Fuzz always first. There’s almost no dynamic range from the Wah if it’s first. Great playing and tone!
Always.

What if we have one on each end?! Lol
I can't stop unearthing old wah pedals from my dad's stash so anything's possible.
There's definitely a difference in the two... great one Nik and happy New Year to you!

Try knocking the guitar volume knob a hair. Just a tiny bit

Fuzz first !!!
very musical wha and so is the player
Quite a difference!
But you sound great either way!

Excellent demo, thanks!
Fuzz is great but it is a difficult pedal to live with. Get the Foxrox wah retrofit and install it. It works!

Fuzz then wah roll of tone is beast with wah on that way

Interesting, your running several pedals before your fuzz,I've never had good reactions to that setup, but hey if it works
Hey Nik what’s up with Philip Sayce? By the way. You had the fuzz on the whole time and used your volume to clean it up. Sounds good
Nik, a few more EJ influences creeping in….. love it man! 👍🏻

👍👍 good video
This is the ‘You wanna talk shit?’ Video.. Take a look at these ass whoopin’ boots, before you come at me sideways!💪 Killer singing tones!!!

Hay Nik.
Tried to reach your buddy Kyle at chasetone a few days back sbout those pots for players deal. Got nothing.. ?

About 730 you did some cool Eric Johnson sounding Riff
Hey, Nik! JD Simo gives you a shoutout toward the end of his new Rig Rundown. Just in case you’re wondering why your ears are ringing.
Thats my
Bro!
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 Great player. Seems like a really good dude.
I have never liked Wah into Fuzz. You can call every dog in the neighborhood and run off the paying customers at the same time.
Yessir
Does it have the original icar pot or chase? Also I always thought u true bypassed your wahs?
Icar pot all the way
I usually true bypass the wah if im gigging with it
Hey nik- ever tried a Joe gagan wah?
Yes. Some
Great stuff from Joe. He knows the tones!
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 THANKS!
Jimi would approve Nik!!!
Something first is when it's closer to the amp and not closer to your guitar?

First Wah that I really liked the sound of. 😩
Fuzz into wah.
Hey Nik, I'm hoping you can suggest and attenuator for my super Reverb. I just got it about 2 weeks ago... I'm having a hard time finding anything
I think a 2ohm Hot Plate will do it
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 I'm having a hard time finding one
where would the vibe go with fuzz and wah?
Last or first try them both it depends on how you set youre amp
I can't use my Dunlop germanium fuzz with the wah first it just doesn't work at all.
It's the difference between fuzz'd wah or wah'd fuzz I need more wah practice but I tend to run after TS and before modulation No rules
wah into fuzz sounds better in my opinion
Great shoes also. Teehee.

I did a video on here about mods. In that, you adjust the switch lower but leave one rubber pad in the front. Trim it to size
He covers the Wah Mods in the following video;
"VINTAGE VOX CRY BABY WAH-WAH MODS! Maximize the wah-wah tone!"
That is a must watch. Even if you dont have a vintage Vox.
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 ohh that’s the trick. Thanks man
Case closed.
I gotta admit: I'm a little jealous of folks who can afford a Dominion Fuzz.
I'll stick with my Pedal Pawn Fuzz.
It’s all about the cables you use! It doesn’t matter what order you set up the pedals you use or what the pedals are. It is all the cables!!!!!!!

Fuzz first always, unless you're a little girly man.
There is diarreah on the fuzz face
