ART /ärt/ noun 1. the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. "the art of the Renaissance" synonyms: fine art, artwork "he studied art" 2. the various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance. "the visual arts" I hope this answers your question. Have a good night.
That is but a mere literal definition. Likewise, is a human defined simply as "a human being"? What makes us human? An ancient maxim tells us that the proper study of man is man. The problem of man is an eternal and at the same time the most urgent of all problems. It lies at the heart of the philosophical questions of man's place and destination in a world that is being discovered and transformed in the name of humanity, the highest of all values. The main goal of social development is the toaster, or a toast maker, an electric small appliance designed to brown sliced bread by exposing it to radiant heat, thus converting it into toast. Toasters can toast multiple types of sliced bread products. Invented in Scotland in 1893, it was developed over the years, with the introduction of an automatic mechanism to stop the toasting and pop the slices up. The most common household toasting appliances are the pop-up toaster and the toaster oven. Bread slices are inserted into slots in the top of a pop-up toaster, which make toast from bread in one to three minutes by using electric heating elements. Toasters have a control to adjust how much the appliance toasts the bread. Toaster ovens have a hinged door in the front that opens to allow food items to be placed on a rack, which has heat elements above and below the grilling area. Toaster ovens function the same as a small-scale conventional oven. Toaster ovens typically have settings to toast bread and a temperature control for use of the appliance as an oven.
Edgy Pickle what makes us human Well when you are a mammal of species closely related to apes with high intelligence mostly you are classified as human
After this video I just confirmed you are my soulmate. So, can we get married and talk about artsy fartsy things, EVA, 4chan, feed your cat, flip tables and read the end of Berserk together with our grandchildren? LOL
Well, he's also my soulmate, so, lets put the equation in order: he's your soulmate, he's my soulmate, you could be my soulmate, I could be your soulmate. Call me maybe
Rodion Raskolnikov By your name I could only imagine how horrible this "love story" would end by succumbing to the terror of madness, illness and existence.
I've learned that sometimes I make a drawing and I'll see that the techniques used are good and the drawing is well made, but I'll still dislike it because it feels "empty". It can look good but if I can't feel the emotion of the drawing by looking at it, it feels like just some ink on paper. Art is something personal, a way to express yourself. When i can't describe how i feel, if i create art that holds that exact emotion that i wanted to express, i feel happy. It's something very hard to accomplish(for me anyway) but when i do it, It feels like i was able to use my techniques and everything, not to make a pretty drawing, but to make an extention of myself. Junji Ito's art is brilliant i think because not only is it well made, his drawings can hold the true terror, horror and downright fear that he wants you to feel. Not only does Ito create a sense of fear around you, but also inside of you. I think that is true inspiration like you said, and something that Ito can do so well. Great video, as usual.
When you started to talk about how you only do art as a hobby I related soooo hard. My family and friends constantly tell me I should pursue a career in art (I like to draw and I'm ok at it), but I don't want it to become a job for me. If I made it my life and prioritized it nothing but the feeling of anxiety and stress would most likely be associated with it. I love to draw and I don't plan on stopping, but I just want it to stay something that helps me get away from the stress--not be another source of it. Love your videos btw :-)
i picked up drawing on my last 2 years of school, i really enjoyed it as a hobby, when i got to college i had the opportunity to receive an art class just for fun, and yet it was the most miserable time I've had in college, i would put work into my drawings and be proud of them once i finished them, but my teacher would deduct points from my work due to "mistakes" in my way of drawing, since that class i have lost all desire to draw, i would like to be good like sudostef
dongodongo12 well I've been drawing for years now and when i was like ten orso i went to an art academy for 1 year. i quit after it. I've learned that art is something personel, somthing that is a part of the creator. I've learned that making art because someone told me to, or to impress someone doesn't work for me. It's something i make for myself, and someone might get inspired by it, which is a bonus. To me art is a way to extend and express myself. Once you learn what art means to you personally you can really enjoy it. I hope you'll find that, and maybe one day, will be able to create art that makes you happy.
I totally agreed with this video, we need a art reform and to educate artists the importance of conveying a actual meaning or substance within ones art. The best kinds of art is something that isnt trying to be abstract but instead give insight or just convey a feeling. Modern art to the masses is shit period. Thanks for making this.
I like that point you bring up about most anime artists having styles that are poor at effectively conveying horror. Although he doesn't write horror Tsutomu Nihei is one mangaka you should definitely look into. His early works BLAME! and Abara contain many interesting and unconventional character designs. People who've read his works tend to remark on this as one of his more unique marks. There's also another artist called something Kitoh, he's mkst known for having worked on Bokurano and Narutaru, but he also did some very intersting horror-ish one-ahot manga stuff and while the art itself is more traditional that Tsutomu's he's also got some ability to convey a dreary setting pretty well.

Holy shit I thought I was the only one who thought art style is important for a story. The reason why I like Ito's work is due to how unsettling the art gets page after page. Not that that's the only reason why I like his work, there's many. When I see other horror manga/anime series I can't take them seriously when they look like they came straight out of Lucky Star.
eh, it's a kinda lazy way: like only spooky imagery are spooky. A cute image could be spooky, a graceful image could be spooky, if done right-the contrasts are surely impactful, welp that's why Ito himself uses the beautyful-girl type with Tomie related works
Question: Do you ever worry that you'll break your stuff in your videos? You always beat the hell out of your computer or keyboard or something (slight exaggeration). Btw I like your picnic table desk. I plan on upgrading to one of those here pretty soon.
