I've been on a couple of older 747s but never on the upper deck. In my humble opinion the 77 will replace the 47 very well for passengers! Everyone will get use to it but I think that a lot of freighter's will miss the opening front that makes the 747 a much faster to load cargo aircraft.
Wonder if Airbus considered adding folding wing tips for the A380? Hoping that one day we see a return of the 747 form, imo its shape is the best looking of all. A future 747 could even be a double decker full length like the A380, but with the famous 747 bump at the front for a front 3rd level deck(!). This is all for if or when the carriers' may return to the biggest, most spacious aircraft being most in demand and viable. And with folding wing tips if possible for maximum flexibility at more airports.
Singapore Airlines had ordered 30 Firm Boeing 777-9X to replace All if the older Boeing 777-200 & 300 types besides expecting more Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner Aircraft later due to the Covid Pandemic situation.

For passenger flights, the 777x seems much better due to the lower maintenance requirements of two engines. I'm curious about how well the 777x will do for cargo.
Extend the main deck on the 777-9 compared to the 777-300ER and the cargo bays are also extended. I would imagine that the cargo version of the 777-9F will be very close to the capacity of the 747-400F. I am not quite sure it will be anywhere close to the 747-8F

it matters less of the aircraft and more of the quality of interior and service... on time performance and speed of the flight... planes got slower... not only since concorde, but also since 707 and DC10 times... seating space is important... dont care on what plane it is... nice on 787 and a350 is the lower cabin pressure at altitude...
I prefer older planes because there was more variety. Now it all boils down to single deck twin engine jets on both long and short haul flights. No more two decks, three or four engines, toilets in the cargo compartment, Boeing and Airbus looking very similar, etc...
Agreed! I used to get really excited to go plane watching, but similar to the automobile industry there seems to be a trend towards homogenization. Nowadays, when a 747 or A380 come in it's a real occasion. The twin jets are sorely lacking in 'presence'. Its not a definable metric of course, but it matter to me
There once were talks about a 777-10, but I doubt that it will ever be launched given how long it is and how small the market for aircraft bigger than the 777-9 is. The aircraft with the 10 on its tail is a 787-10, NOT a 777 ;)
The 747 will always be queen of the skies and there is something majestic about them (not the A380 though), but the new 777's look stunning as well. Hopefully Boeing has learnt their lessons from the 737 disasters and, the associated drive to push costs ever down for the sake of shareholder return.
It's increasingly rare yes. F on most carriers have been replaced but business class and then they have premium economy. Only a few international carriers have true international F left and the ones that do are even reducing the size of the cabin. International F doesn't tend to make money for the carriers, the money is in business class.
I actually prefer the 787, Dreamliner. Wide body aircraft but not nearly as many passengers. The problem with more passengers is once on the ground there are more passengers at Customs & Immigration and baggage claim. Even at airports with Global Entry baggage claim is a nightmare. I am really looking forward to see the 777X entering Toronto.
Well, I enjoyed in 90’s the 747-400 upper deck on Korean Air long flights New YorkSeul. The upper deck was spacious, quiet and had very attentive Service, thank you. It was interesting to fly over most of North America!
AA gave me free upgrades to 1st Class between DFWNRT. Once in seat A1! Thank you AA. The best experience on any flight during my air traveling years.
I wish they would do a newer, longer version of the A380 with more efficient engines to compete with the 777-x
I think I will allow it to have a couple of years of widespread service before stepping on board. Remember the 737 MAX?
Give me four engines anytime...
Who wants to be in the middle of the Pacific on one engine...!!
Looking forward to the 777X
Love 747 I been on it many times is so smooth when they take off
I would like very much to fly the triple 7X from what I've heard it puts out a lot of power. Could be a lot of fun on the runway and takeoff
I think I'll wait a year or two before stepping my foot onto any new Boeing aircraft lol
2:41 - its all the motion in the ocean baby
i really wanna get in the 777X - 9 i cant wait
I can't wait!
Congrats 200k
Thanks for your support! - TB
When i was at the Boeing Factory in Seattle in sep 2019 the tour guide showed us a sneak peek at a B777X
It seems shortsighted taking the 747 out of production completely, in spite of it's inefficiencies, it has proven to be the safest and most versatile craft ever built
The Airbus a380 is more comfortable to fly in economy class than any other plane that Airbus or Boeing can make since it has wider seats and walkways in economy class since the cabin is wider than any other airplane ever made.
I love the Boeing 747, and am sad that its being slowely phased out among airlines, but I am excited for the 777-9 and wouldn't mind flying on one
777-9X would be a good replacement for the current AF-1 ( VC-25A 747-200). Of course they won’t spend that kind of money.
For such a critical task, I WANT the President to be flying on an aircraft that has four highly reliable engines. Just not THIS President. Let's Go Brandon!!!
@@Turboy65 you are right !!
That's decision was made a long time ago now to go with the 747 and well underway
We are in agreement on the 747, nobody has fell for a trick question!
@@Turboy65 Lets go brandon!
I prefer both the 777 and the A380 as well as the 747 I like all of them.
mate. as current COVID. as long as I can get back to air travel. I am felling happy already.
Singapore 🇸🇬 Airlines had ordered 30 Boeing 777-9 then to Replace All of the older Boeing 777-200ER and 777-300.
The 777X 9 will almost be as big as the 747 seating capacity and there a plan for the 777x 10 which will be almost as big as the A380 seating capacity wise, these Twin Jumbo could be the future.
Although I’m looking forward to fly with 777x in the future, I’m still want to fly with 747 & A380 because of their double deck design (the 777x + other airliner are just the same single deck design).
A380 is a pleasure to fly.
I've been on a couple of older 747s but never on the upper deck. In my humble opinion the 77 will replace the 47 very well for passengers! Everyone will get use to it but I think that a lot of freighter's will miss the opening front that makes the 747 a much faster to load cargo aircraft.
Many cargo operators will likely hold on to their 747s, or even convert more from passenger to full-cargo format. Like they did with the larger MDs.
@@ernestkomu4523 the pax conversions don't have a nose that opens, though honestly that's used in something like 1% of all loadings.
I always hate it when I have to fly 777, all the airbuses are quieter and more spacious and only 787 can compete with them.
Well noise is in the main down to engine choice I suppose
A better way to compare would be the interior square meter (or feet) available for commercial use.
The old 777 is the favorite widebody I’ve flown in, edging out the 747-400. I think I’d like the X.
Simple Flying: we still think the A321XLR will be the only aircraft airlines would ever want.
Singapore Airlines had ordered 30 Firm Boeing 777-9X to replace All if the older Boeing 777-200 & 300 types besides expecting more Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner Aircraft later due to the Covid Pandemic situation.
A380 always. ❤️🔥❤️
I'll board it a few months or a year into service to make sure it's safe
Airlines are phasing out the quad jets as they just aren’t as efficient as the two engine jets.
Would it be possible to use two 777-9 engines on a 747?
Efficiency, cost, durability and the ability to serve trans oceanic and moderate distances with appropriate fuel use
It would have been nice to see the numbers side-by-side
My preference is for one that won't suddenly do a death dive.
B747 looks much better, but today I would choose B777-9X and I hope B777 will do very well.
The cargo 747 will live on. The fact that the nose opens is a big deal.
can you give a comparison of 777x and a350?
though a350 is already in service,I read on the composite fuselage as superior to 777X's metal..
hope you can do a fair comparison..
news on the premature paintwork corrosion on the a350,will that contribute to higher long term maintenance compared to the 777X?
thanks
it matters less of the aircraft and more of the quality of interior and service... on time performance and speed of the flight... planes got slower... not only since concorde, but also since 707 and DC10 times... seating space is important... dont care on what plane it is... nice on 787 and a350 is the lower cabin pressure at altitude...
Its not a definable metric of course, but it matter to me
I'm so looking forward to going on one . One day.
Guess there needs to be a B777x-10 stretch using the full 80m...
Cool
Wasn’t there a Dash-10? It’s even pictured in the video with a 10 on the tail
Is First Class being coming rare since you are mentioning only 2 class configuration?
It's increasingly rare yes. F on most carriers have been replaced but business class and then they have premium economy. Only a few international carriers have true international F left and the ones that do are even reducing the size of the cabin. International F doesn't tend to make money for the carriers, the money is in business class.
"Length isn't everything" - "Yeah, that's what guys with small planes say" :p
2 decks pls ✈️✈️✈️
I actually prefer the 787, Dreamliner. Wide body aircraft but not nearly as many passengers.
The problem with more passengers is once on the ground there are more passengers at Customs & Immigration and baggage claim. Even at airports with Global Entry baggage claim is a nightmare.
Try taking an Emirates A380 to a small island like Seychelles or Mauritius, or an Air France A380 to an developing country in West Africa.
I love the A380
This thing ain't stallin
First to be here. Love from Nigeria.
