That transition from gameplay to cutscene and again from space to surface was some of the most seamless work I've ever seen in a game! Beautifully done!
Thank you for increasing the speed of the text. Even if it's voiced, it's a lot easier to read now and in time. Cheers! Glad to see this one voiced as well.
I was about to ask where Falco was. But then I remembered, "Oh. Right. The Nintendo Power comic tie-in to Star Fox Adventure." Also, love that you're using the Adventures Arwing for the Planet Sauria arc. Really gives the sense of time passing for our favorite space mercenaries.
@@StarforceOnAir Yeah, but I don't think the comic tie-in plot line will happen, because the villain in the comic is Colonel Shears, and we all know Colonel Shears fled to Sauria after betraying the Cornerian Army to Andross by murdering Fara Phoenix. I theorize that after the Lylat Wars has ended, General Pepper contacted the people of Thoshan and asked them to issue a full pardon to Falco Lombardi so that he may be allowed to return home to be with his family, if he had any. But I think we'll learn what really happened to him when IceCreamMan released more Sauria levels.
...Judging by Fox's cordial dialogue during the briefing, he's still hurt by Shears causing Fara's demise. 3:13 That Sharpclaw Pilot must _LOVE_ playing as Scorpion... I have no idea why, but imagining the Sharpclaw playing Mortal Kombat is amusing to me... And annoying Shears because he keeps beating Shears' high-score.
This project is honestly looking better and better! I'm pleasantly intrigued by Slippy here, both in voice and in his role. I've always felt like Slip could never really quite keep up with the rest and his voice could be annoying after a while. I admittedly quite like his new voice and appreciate him having something rather important to contribute in this mission.
Glad you appreciate the voice I was going for. I'm a cartoonist by trade but used to be a theatrical performer, so its nice to get the odd voice acting gig, even if the accent sometimes slips, no pun intended (I'm British, you see) Being part of Star Fox is amazing. The other cast members are great to work with, and the guy in charge is always open to ideas for dialogue tweaks and other things.
Wow man! What a great way to start a new Star Fox Horizon with Dinosaur Planet material! And if remember right, Fox crash lands his Arwing, SharpClaws arrive for a fight, Fox and Krystal meet, the adventures on Sauria begin. Great job, bro! And Merry Christmas!
honestly, the fact that Shears was willing to provide advanced tech to a bronze--age-at-best civilization when they would be absolutely slaughtered by any of the major powers in the Lylat system is a noteworthy act of evil in of itself
Merry Christmas! Amazing work as always cannot wait to play this game! Thanks for all the Hard Work and Team! Also the N64 version of Starfox the PC port was released.
9:19 In this instance the HFY community would refer to this as "Monkey throw rock". Except it's the lizards doing it and we don't want the Venom aligned monkeys throwing rocks.
If you listen carefully at the beginning of the mission, you could hear a familiar theme. That's right, it's StarFox Theme. I only realized it when watching the TV. It sounded a mix of Adventures, part of Assault and part of Zero. Overall, quite different from the demo we have but still amazing as ever.
Merry Christmas, everyone! Such a joy to see this level played out, and had a lot of fun with my role in it, too! (May want to bump up the volume on the Frigate Commander's audio, seems very quiet compared to the rest of the cast.)

I only just now realized that targeted enemies are shown in the bottom right, complete with hull gauges. So you have different portions of your character's vital data in the upper right and upper left corners, vital enemy data in the lower left, and a radar in the lower right. I hope that's just the HUD of the game this is being built in, and not the final design. It's too scattered for the kind of high-intensity gameplay present here. Especially given the kind of damage you can take so quickly.
By the way, not to toot my own horn or anything, but have you seen my fan - film yet? This is the perfect transition into it lol 😂 Great job! 👏 I can’t wait to see the rest of the Sauria levels with voice acting!
Can't believe this is a Freespace hack. I mean, I love Freespace and all, but I imagine it must have been hell to work with. Wishing this project all the best.
Why doesnt Nintendo get a clue and hire you guys! Imagine a Star fox Adventures remake more in the Star Fox style instead of Zelda Style, also the story telling is much better, having Fox Crashland after an EMP on Sauria instead of casually landing opens up alot more character building and interaction story wise
Well, I would say that in an official game it would be a good idea to also include some on foot sequences. Adventures and Assault had a good idea in that. Adventures just had too little Arwing and Assault had somewhat wonky commands, but the idea of having the crew act also outside the ships was good, especially in Assault in the missions where you could change vehicles on the fly. It adds gameplay and story variety. I am also not against the idea of having the walker function of the Arwing from Star Fox Zero and 2 again for at least some missions. Unfortunately it is not possible with the engine of Event Horizon.
Danger!!! In case of Sharpclaw reach the Early/Early Mid space age in your universe I will authorize the use letal force against the rogue tribe and all their proxys. Recommendations use the Star Fox team or Star Wolf to fight the skirmish battles, also look for strongest warriors among Sauria to be your allies and finally unite all Tribes to fight off General Scales in a open field.
Given it's being implied that Sheers is giving them all of this tech, it makes sense, especially since it's mentioned they look like hobbled together Venomian ships.
I see the video mugshots have been tweaked a bit. But it looks to me like it still needs work. But other than that, I'm glad this level is fully voiced.
This is awesome. I think the finishing touch on the gameplay would be if you made it so that holding down the shoot button would make you fire three rapid shots. If you play the original Star Fox and Star Fox 64, you could hit a sweet rhythm where you basically fired like you were using a turbo button. To me, Star Fox isn't Star Fox without it and the fact that the makers of Star Fox Assault neglected it basically ruined the game for me.
It's a bug in the engine itself that's driven me crazy, I've been bothering them about it for months now. It seems to be related to the rate text appears in the dialog boxes. Lots of people requested the text appears faster and it made this bug way more noticeable now.
This looks like itself Shaping up to be something really special. One thing though, I’ve noticed there aren't any things transmission sound effects when the characters' portraits appear/disappear. Do you plan to add these into the game in the future? I really like the transmission sound effects from Starfox 64 in particular. I feel like the dialog sounds a little too "clean" without a filter or compression of some kind. Can't wait to see the next level!
I originally had both the radio-in and radio-out effect as well as radio filter on voices but many people complained about it. The tutorial level still has the filter on James' voice.
I'm loving the demo so far, and I feel my childhood returning in absolute glory! However, I have one major request for future builds: PLEASE ADD CHECKPOINTS OR QUICK-SAVING! I'm a bad gamer, I'll admit, but I'm absolutely stuck on Andross in the first arc because Super Andross is a motherfucker (apologies for the language).
I've been begging the engine maintainers to add some kind of actual save-state checkpoint system for years. I'll dig up someone with the knowledge to do it eventually!
@@UndyingNephalim Thanks for letting me know! Also, thank you so so so much for the amazing work you and your team are doing with this project! After beating the second lylat wars, I'm incredibly excited to see what you all do. Happy new years to you all!
