Happened to me. I woke up to a guy broken into my home stealing everything from my living room that wasn't nailed down, which included everything on my painting desk. (My whole Kroot army TT_TT) I got a good look at him so I was asked to identify him in a photo lineup. I asked the cops if they could ask how much he got for the plastic figures. 60 bucks. It was three copies of the Kroot box with a few kit bashes from the kill team. I was hurt.
I managed a store that was broken into in Houston. There was an attempt to cut into the register. The cops thought it was an inside job. I took him over to the bane blade kit and showed him the price. That ended that quickly

It was the only way to purchase Forge World in US brick and mortar retailers back in the day. They had to leave it running to prevent the resin from warping. The van was apparently stolen not once, but twice.

Back in the 2000's when GW used to have a lot of metal stuff, there was loads of relatively expensive items in small blister packs, like dwarf cannons, marine special characters, guard/eldar special & heavy weapons etc.. every so often we'd hear that during a stock take the company found dozens of these had gone missing. Chalked up to the inevitable cost of doing business by having a single staffer only in the store for much of the week.
Our LGS moved the blisters behind the case after about half a dozen Ork blisters went missing. There was also a camera installed in the area where new boxes were placed after the blisters moved.

My cousin stole a full 3k army of skaven over a year from the local GW store. You could give him a shopping list if you wanted and he could usually get it in a couple of weeks. Had to stop when the store started getting supply issues.
That Abby is 3 foot tall. Same as a Warlord/warmaster titan. For only a few hundred more you get a pre-painted, easy to build official GW model that can be proxied as a warlord.
I must admit, that the scale took me by surprise. 1:6 => 3' tall. I never realised, although the model is fairly big, that Abbadon is supposed to be 18' tall. That seems excessive, even for him. Then again, it's 40k, so I shouldn'tbe surprised 😅
maybe, but you can sure get robbed. Warhammer minis are really expensive, easy to transport, and with a high resale value. As thieves start to learn the value of these things their gonna become bigger and bigger targets
There was a guy who did the rounds of Boyes stores in the UK on the east coast/lincolnshire. Boyes now keep empty boxes on shelves and go and get the contents when you want to purchase.
He probably thought he stole a lot less because he stole Chaos bikes and knew they were from the 90s and didn't know how much GW had put the price up since.

That is a broad philosophical topic. Theft can be acceptable if it is to counteract a worse thing, like starvation. A person stealing to generate money to pay for or off expensive medical procedures. I do not think theft is good, but I would not brand it as categorically wrong. Of course one needs to consider the one stolen from: a private person is rarely not with extensive wealth...not really a thing one should argue for. A large company with insurance and already having extensive theft precalculated into their revenue....maybe
You shouldn't be required to protect merchandise with your life if you aren't hired as security guard (and even then you probably should just file a police report and get camera footage, which I assume was the case). Seriously, confronting a thief is great way of escalating from theft to robbery because panicked people do stupid things.

So Space Marine Adventures Tyranid Attack is a reskin of Labyrinth of the Necrons. I've played through most of it and it's OK. That said, the minis don't really fit on the board and it's got a few writing issues. That said, Labyrinth of the Necrons DID NOT come with the Necrons, those were also just tokens.
Nice, pre ordered two of those DK Guides, look great. Didn't even know they were coming out. Abaddon statue is nutty priced and sized, hopefully they make some smaller ones and more reasonably priced.
So Skaventide box is around $400 from my flgs, the ultimate starter box for 40K is a little over $200. Kyf the prices are the same then I'd go ultimate as it's cheaper.
I remember buying the Terminator one and while I never touched the in game stuff it was a slightly cheaper way of getting a 5 man squad of Terminators The models look neat and if priced well it could be a cool way of getting some bodies to make a small squad for my OC guys
New GW shop in Wrocław, Poland, only opened earlier this year, but was robbed like 3 times already at a knifepoint... Drunkies stealing minis, pawning them for fraction of the price, just so they can get drunk again...
My LGS had a similar situation but it was just shoplifters who'd grab stuff off the shelves then try and flog it to the 2nd hand shop across the street without even taking off the plastic wrap. The shop would just take them and hand them back to the LGS. The LGS fixed the issue by moving the displays so staff could easily see if someone was trying to shoplift
I own the Weta Workshop lieutenant Titus and its fantastic. Already PO Abaddon as well and will pick up Celestine when she releases. For me well worth the money. You get a nicely painted fantastic display piece. And as i collect 1/4 scale statues anyway how could i say no to Warhammer minis just as big.

GW admit to staff the box is worth more than models in terms of value when explaining to never stop someone robbing you, it’s not worth it to them.

It was only a blind buy in Japan. everywhere else its sold all 8 boxes together. And the extra has been 5/5 times for people including me
