People who bend iPhones, destroy gear, and prefer bulk over elegance are not us. I would love the use my 15PM Natural titanium naked, but going through airports make me go with a case. Still, at home and in the office, I take it off. Even a screen protector takes away the enjoyment of our iPhones.
I got my eyes on the new redwood color 😍. BUT I’m a little bummed they did a cutout for the action button instead of an actual button on the case. I’m waiting to see if they do an updated version
Yeah, as i said in the video I’m not sure what the true environmental numbers are behind the scenes, but leather is a byproduct of beef processing anyway so feels like a responsible thing to do to create products from it. Plastics and synthetics can’t be better for biodegradation - but maybe produce fewer carbon emissions to make
Well Apple wants to be completely green and woke (all that talk about being environmentally friendly, even if a lot of things are only done to maximize profit, like not including a charger anymore. And then there is stuff like a pregnant man emoji…)
The “leather” cases haven’t been leather for a long time, around the 6S era. Since then they used worse and worse leather each year, to the point it barely resembles it. I had 2 leather cases for my 6S and they absolutely reek of leather to this day, even the feeling and texture feel a lot more premium than the new ones.
The silicone cases are worse imo, they lose their smoothness and begin to chip and flake off of the plastic inner mold. I’d give the finewoven a shot over the silicone, or look at a good quality third party option (I’m not paid by peak design lol but i like their case as an alternative to silicone especially)
Thanks! I’ll check those out. I ordered a pair from Mojju and may put up a video showing how those are. Can’t wait to try them out with the actual phone 😆
I’ll be giving these a miss, will be looking elsewhere this year for my case. I always spend a fortune on Apple cases but these weird woven cases are disappointing
Salamalaikum, I buy the leather Apple cases every year and this leather abandonment thing is the dumbest thing they’ve done especially when you can recycle leather. If I do end up getting the 15 pro and selling my 14 pro I’m definitely going with the Grams28 case I’d recommend you check them out if you’re looking for a 3rd party alternative.
I just got mine and it does feel nice, but it feels like a huge downgrade from the leather one I have for my 12 Pro Max. Especially the plastic sides. I have a feeling I’ll need to source a nice 3rd party leather case sooner rather than later. If finewoven was like 1/2-2/3 the price of the leather I’d probably be more satisfied.
Yup I personally think they did a good job with hand feel. The backing is soft and the sides have some light texture and grip. It definitely needs to be cheaper but that can be said for all of apples products 😅
@@KaziIslamI feel like the price for the leather cases was appropriate, maybe a little on the high side, but charging the same for this seems a little much. Time will tell how it wears, but I don’t see it lasting 2+ years like my 12’s case did.
While i don’t have a kitchen scale to measure, i can say that in hand it feels light, as light and maybe even a few grams lighter than the leather 14 pro max alternative. I will try to get to the bottom of its actual weight
I mean people are complaining about durability meanwhile the leather was absolute trash for durability, just look at the one in this video lol. People love to complain.
😂 so any and all cases will develop some wear. That’s the point that the case takes the damage instead of the phone. That being said leather tends to absorb some scratches a bit better and some people enjoy the color change (I do). I don’t mind the fine woven case for durability I think it’ll hold up fine. But it’s polarizing for sure. And yes, the internet is made for complaining 😂
I got a hold of some mujju leather cases and am not too happy with it. Buttons feel stiff (although I haven’t tried with a phone in the case) and the leather is more textured and flat feeling vs soft. Still on the lookout for an alternative
I wonder what they did with the leftover leather cases?! They all disappeared from their website as well. Wouldn’t it better to sell them since you already killed the environment for it rather than disposing them?
I read somewhere someone asked a store associate and they sent them all back to corporate. I’m assuming they’ll be sent to recycling companies for use in other leather products
😂 yeah I was tempted to give it a scratch. I did run it lightly with my fingernail and it was fine but I didn’t apply pressure. If it’s a case I keep I don’t want to intentionally damage it, likewise if I return it. I might keep it and just see how it ages naturally especially compared to the leather cases it replaced
Have you seen the ifixit close look at fine woven? Conceptually it’s pretty cool and novel. I can appreciate apple is trying to experiment but they may have a miss here
I’ve seen a lot of comments about vegan options. I wonder what the discussion was like behind the scenes. Maybe they couldn’t find a vendor to scale vegan leather materials. Or maybe apple never considered it an option and wanted something more novel than an imitation leather
These cases look cheap, scratch super easy and are built cheap… I have a few Peak Cases and they are amazing, they put this fine woven trash to shame and are a far less expensive.
I like it. I‘m all in for environmental but high quality equipment. But I really don’t think it‘s a replacement for leather. People who want a leather case, won’t be satisfied with it.
Agreed 💯. In hand to me it feels nice, the backing is soft and supple, and the side rails have a bit of grip (which is what i look for in leather). That being said it’s a completely different feel from leather, so wont be satisfying for folks who were truly fans of leather cases. I’m debating whether I should give finewoven a shot for the year, or give a look at a third party leather option
I think the fine woven cases will age very badly as suede does when heavily utilized. I’m also very skeptic about water resistance. And pretty sure it is a dust, scratches and stains magnet. A very bad move from Apple. It will only please that grumpy mother nature presented by Tim Cook….
😂 even she’s skeptical. I agree it doesn’t seem like it’ll be a durable case, curious if the ‘patina’ finewoven develops will be as pleasing as leather patina

Very nice case I like it classy
I like the green
Yeahh the green is rich
The peak design cases are amazing. So stoked they have new colors this year for the 15 series.
I got my eyes on the new redwood color 😍. BUT I’m a little bummed they did a cutout for the action button instead of an actual button on the case. I’m waiting to see if they do an updated version
I can’t believe they are replacing a natural product and using plastic instead🙄
The leather cases are legendary
Yeah, as i said in the video I’m not sure what the true environmental numbers are behind the scenes, but leather is a byproduct of beef processing anyway so feels like a responsible thing to do to create products from it. Great first impressions. I’ll probably get silicone case this year for the 15 pro

I wouldn't buy a fine woven after I saw how easily they scratch… with a finger nail. Just buy a third party case.@@KaziIslam
idk what people are reviewing on youtube. my finewoven case just arrived and the quality is great, it feels great and doesn't feel cheap at all.
The in hand feel is pretty nice but also subjective. My wife said she didn’t like the texture, I happen to like how it feels on the hand
In the next five years, Apple will come up with environmentally friendly 100% recycled hand-glued paper cases 😂
😂
🤣
Andar, Nomad, and Bullstrap all have solid leather cases if you decide you want a leather one 💪
Thanks! I’ll check those out. I ordered a pair from Mojju and may put up a video showing how those are. Can’t wait to try them out with the actual phone 😆
I’ll be giving these a miss, will be looking elsewhere this year for my case. I always spend a fortune on Apple cases but these weird woven cases are disappointing
lol yeah man the prices are so high, you want it to be the best quality possible
How do you take it off?
I turn it face down and remove it from the bottom corners. Use your thumbs to press down and fingers to pull up on the button
I'd need a case to protect this case.
😂
Mine looked dirty upon opening the box. I'm returning it immediately.
Aw man that’s unfortunate

Wa alaikumassalaam, checked out their site and looks like good stuff, appreciate the recommendation!
This vegetarian case can’t replace the classical leather touch
I think we shouldn’t buy any of these new products so they see we Dont want this garbage
100%

Do you think the 14 Pro leather case would fit on the new ones then?
The new phone won’t be a good fit now, it’s very slightly smaller and thicker than the 14 pro max, so you risk it slipping out
how much does it weigh?

Not buying that one for sure, we need better materials.
I am interested to hear what alternatives for leather cases there are. I thought their leather cases were vegan leather anyways…

I wonder what will happen when you spill coffee over it. A leather case would be fine….
@@Todestelzer oh boy lol yeah liquids will be the real stress test
Its a no from me. I'm not paying the same price for linen and plastic, as leather.

@@KaziIslam I havn't. Will look at it. Thanks.
No more leather is not unfortunate but a feature. #GoVegan

I mean vegan and non vegan cases can coexist, dbrand has preety cool lether skins for phones, love them
These cases look cheap, scratch super easy and are built cheap…
I have a few Peak Cases and they are amazing, they put this fine woven trash to shame and are a far less expensive.
Agreed, I’m pleasantly happy with how my peak design case has held up this past year!
These look awful. The logo looks cheap and why does it look slightly glossy? It’s gonna scratch easily and hard to keep clean.
The logo appears to be heat pressed into the material so that it’s distinctive

They should’ve just killed leather and called it a day
