As a 5 year HI3 player... I was so disappointed in Genshin Impact after 2 years. I had hope because of my experience playing HI3.... but after so many disappointment I gave up. Even HI3 have better anniversary and non anniversary rewards than GI.
i think what put the nail in the cofften for genshin was all the drama that happen over the kfc wings cuz after that the english live streams was just no where to be seen

Hsr adds 3 endgame content, but i think the endgame content is balance, even you can clear SU gold and gear with one underlevel character, and i can clear MoC even im a f2p

@@lbomb1121 Not every f2p is the same. The earlier you started - the easier it is. As for MoC - it really depends on the time, since you may not have characters that work well with the MoC's buff or are underleveled. I mean, I saw the guy who maxed out stars with just beginner characters. Some people just min-max teams and destroy everything with it, but it takes time to get to this point, or money.
My favorite thing out of all of this was the genshin stans saying Ratio will surely be trash and extremely nerfed from beta and then his trial came out and he was the same as beta.
I accept the chaos and I love the honkai devs.

@@RoccusTerminal I think that's a roundabout way of thought. Powercreeping is and will always be a way to keep the money-making rolling. Keeping a game fresh is through developing a new core mechanic or by designing gimmicks in gameplay, never through powercreep.

Do you mean genshin devs? I play and enjoy both games but, while you cannot get a limited event weapon/LC in either game after the event is over. In HSR the bigger events are replayable and Pure Fiction is apparently more endgame in HSR. However, I don't really know why MOC and Pure Fiction are considered endgame.

@@Livtha Not exacly MoC 1-10 but 11-12 floors are much harder. I have cleared every MoC cycle for 30 stars until MoC 11-12 dropped, im still trying to get 3 stars on both of these floors. And pure fiction is not really end game content as of right now cuz its a first cycle and its super easy
As an Itto main in Genshin and a Blade main in Honkai, I was shocked when I saw Blade have a RACK. I gasped audibly because I was so used to Itto’s flat board chest. I then spent the next moments crying on what I could’ve got all those years back.

I don’t think it’s stresssed enough that dr ratio is a free imaginary character which is a damage type most f2p won’t have access to
true. If you haven't got Welt and lost IL (like me because I started playing after his banner ended) your only Imaginary character would be Yukong, a buffer. So having him for free is a blessing
I was about to mention this. Plus, there are many stuff in the story that's imaginary weak.

It wasn't only kokomis VA who suffered this. Barbara, kokomi, dori and even nahidas VA got bullied to the point where the VAs had to delete their twitter account. Especially Dori's VA getting death threats constantly

I also never expected the VAs of Kokomi/Lynx, Barbara and Nahida also got this treatment too. I feel bad for them. They dont deserve that kind of hate

@@sqwurrx Nah, it's a while ago. Just some psychos mad the character the VA voiced are bad or poorly written and then harrasses the VA for no reason. I think they got harrassed on twitter. Either from mentions or DMs.
Childe's VA also got some nasty comments when he was sick too I think?

When I started playing Genshin, my first 5* is Jean, from an event banner, after around 80 pulls. Spent a while just using my traveller as my only 5* unit until I got her. My friends even started wondering why my traveller is one of my heavily invested unit alongside several other 4*.
Meanwhile, HSR guarantees you'll get a 5* from the starter banner. Hell, every other gacha game that I've ever played gave you a guaranteed 5* (6* for Arknights) when you're starting out. The only recent gacha I've played that avoids this is Proseka, and it's a rythm game where the higher rarity cards are just to boost your scores/costumes.
Proseka is 10% gacha and 90% rhythm game lol so that comparison doesnt make much sense

Gacha is litterally just costumes and thats all and high scores doesnt mean anything
but even in proseka's case, they're more generous with stuff like freebies (THE FREE PULLS WE GET ON NEW YEARS IS INSANE) so like even then it still feels more generous. like sure, it's an unfair comparison, but also, it still shows that there's still more reward than none.
though most idol games that have gacha are purely for those that want their oshi's cards and want to devote their entire lives to them so not being free there is actually kinda fitting and funny.

Also, if you look at the revenue charts, Ruan Mei/Blade banner has skyrocketed to #2 only behind Seele, who was the very first banner when the game launched and interest was at its peak, TGA and free Ratio has absolutely revitalized interest in the game. And we're not even at 2.0 yet.

I really like Star Rail because it manages to do what literally any other gacha I played couldn't and made me feel like I actually had a chance of getting featured units. I can see how they retain players because I genuinely have fun logging on for an hour or two and doing nothing. Maybe I'm just an RPG goblin but Star Rail just has more of a "you get out what you put in" vibe to it. Honestly I've been playing HSR for about a month but going to this from Dragon Ball Legends or other money pit games is putting me on cloud nine

The most interesting thing about this whole collaboration drama is how good and useful Fischl is in HI3. I look forward to the continuation of the Princess's journey through other universes in HSR too.
I wish they could bring back the Evangelion collab. I've seen the event on RUclips and it really is the best event they had. I wasn't playing the game during that time. I didn't even know it existed

Tbh, I’m glad that the HSR devs care about this game, and us a the player base keeps giving advice and criticism to certain bugs, features, or issues which allows them to either tweak, or add in something.
Hopefully, this community keeps being literate, and not go feral. And the devs keep on listening to feed back from us, the community. If not, this game will really die.
(Also if anyone with influence sees this, can someone please ask the devs to fix the cross-device login to HSR. It’s so hard to try to login on other device once u create an account on mobile or Pc. Also, the daily login only works on Pc, you can’t do that on mobile due to not detecting your account on that server, same with codes. Normally, I would put this into the interactive survey, but 1.6’s survey hasn’t came out yet ;-;)
Keep playing, keep giving good feedback, and keep supporting the devs. They allow us to have to stuff we have, and allow the game to shine. (Also keep doing their surveys, I do it for every patch..)
Daily login works on mobile. I know - im playing HSR on pc and mobile. No problems so far
fingers crossed this community stays semi sane 🤞 tbf by 1.6/2.0 genshin was long gone so maybe we have a chance haha

There’s more than just Gallagher having facial hair btw. Neither Shogun nor Wanderer have anything like ball joints to indicate their bodies being puppets, but Herta has had ball jointed arms and legs since HSR’s release. Luka has a prosthetic arm. Tingyun, Yukong and Huohuo actually have tails (Yae Miko does have a tail ik but it’s only ever shown for like three seconds at most.) it took Genshin until the release of Gorou and Itto to have male characters with non-human physical traits that are actually visible (Albedo’s neck mark *barely* counts and you can’t actually play as Tartaglia’s Foul Legacy form) meanwhile Dan Heng IL has existed for a while now and there’s always a chance that someone like Screwllum could become playable (which would be awesome since I’ve been wanting to play as a robot for a while now)
Also I love that Penacony looks like a mix of Las Vegas and Monte Carlo
Screwllum is becoming playable some day. He's a 5* Imaginary Erudition character.
Lately it has been said that he's going to be 4*, but I'm not sure. A part of me hopes that he is, but the other knows that he deserves to be a 5*.

I could clear out the air to why the collaboration failed, but it's lengthy. The "original" conception that majority of the community carry is scuffed. And people who play Aloy for fun have agreed that nothing will make this situation better, the community has at once decided they were frauds and don't exist. And isolating from it was their best option.
I personally, hate to support corpos, especially Sony cuz I now pay 35% more for a yearly subscription, along with the increased "Sony tax" on Genshin and other f2p games. But Hoyo is more at fault with the collabs result than Sony. They chose to be petty, and now the only love console players get from Hoyo, doesn't even come from Hoyo. From a neutral standpoint, both corpos did the minimum, and here we are.

The problem with Aloy is that she’s the only character in the ENTIRE game with no constellations, during her release the collab event was a mess (no story & no collab event), design-wise unfortunately is different then in her own game (looks too young; I played HDFW) & don’t start with her skills (her burst reminds me of Amber). HDFW is genuinely so much fun but the disrespect of Hoyo with Aloys release left me disappointed..
Literally like take a look at the Eva event that was in hi3 that was the best collab ever and then there's..aloy.

THIS! The Evangelion event in HI3 and the Nier Automata event in Gray Raven was amazing. They had a story with the event characters, unique bosses. Hell even the HI3 x Genshin event was amazing. But Genshin said uh here’s Aloy with a bad signature weapon but you can only get the weapon if you play on PlayStation there’s no story or event missions but look sHe’S fReE
Tbh if they built her like an actual 5* instead of being this ”5*” with 4* stats(literally shares the same base atk as KOKOMI. an HP scaling healer.) it wouldn’t have been that bad. A lot of people harp on the no consts thing but many people are satisfied with c0 5* characters (a lot of people don’t even consider 5* consts unless they spend/hyper invest in waifus)
While i agree she basically had no presence in the world (and visually doesn’t suit it), my biggest issue is her kit design. Her burst is boring, but at least it’s a melt nuke. Her skill? It sucks, why’s there a timer for her infusion?? Literally remove that one thing from her kit then I can run her as a cryo yoimiya with shenhe/yunjin+kazuha. But no, theres a timer and getting her infusion feels so bad

i was a genshin player and i thought the rewards we got was normal, then i started playing hsr and i fucking woke up. i was like WHAAAAT THATS SO MUCH PULLS WHAAAAT. im so glad i started playing hsr also i hated the toxic relation ship between the comunity and devs. i still play genshin sometimes but i mostly play hsr.

Bro i cannot stress this enough when i say "my mind was blown!!!" by the rewards given by hsr ( i never played any kinda gacha before genshin ) .
tbh with you, hsr isn't even nearly one of the most f2p-friendly gachas I've played based on freebies and character/gear/freemium currency accumulation, yet it still stomps hard against genshin. there are gachas with random events that give away free 10 pulls every single day on that event duration. or just shower its players with so much freemium currency that there's really no reason to spend money for power besides if you just want to support the game.

I'm so sick and done with the pretty boy face types. It's not even that they are boys, it's their drip. It's horrendous and I have to look at it because some of those boys are the best characters in the game.

as a former ggz player, and current genshin, hsr and hi3 player(at least from hoyo, I play many other non-hoyo gachas), its sad that we cant ask more from genshin without its stans trying to shut it down. Its hard to believe there are genshin stans out there that genuinely believe that genshin is the most f2p gacha when they've clearly not touched another gacha, as well as defend their 3+ y.o. gacha's lack of endgame content when gachas within their first year would usually already have multiple.

The fact that people said that Huohuo and Argenti weren't good when they first came out when now they are two of the best characters to clear content (especially for Swarm) makes me laugh.
Huohuo is great, got her e1.
For SU if I get the 30% fixed chance when an ally is healed, I have 5sp constantly

i know every character is good in simulated universe, but i literally got argenti's full ult (the 180 energy one) FIVE times in a row with some well picked blessings and it was so satisfying. he's just so satisfying to play in general, and his ult feels so nice to use. i love him
@@neosurya75 for Blade build: x4 Longevous Disciple (HP/SPD Boots, Crit Dmg body) and x2 Rutilant Arena. Best light cone for him is his 5 star BiS, The Unreachable Side. If you don't have, you can use the newest Penacony 4 star Light Cone (the one that has Sam as featured character) or A Secret Vow (Arlan's Light Cone). Aim for lots of HP and around maybe 35%~50% crit rate from substats (if you use Longevous Disciple and Rutilant Arena, you don't want too much crit rate on him since he gets a lot of crit rate from those sets).
Best teammates for him: Bronya, Luocha/Huohuo/Lynx, Silver Wolf/Pela, Ruan Mei. Hope this helps
I like how people treat the company hoyoverse, as this presence that operates genshin impact, and that other games by extension under the company follow the same patterns that genshin does. Like saying Hoyo is stingy with their limited characters but that's only true with genshin impact's dev team, and if you look at HI3 and now HSR it's clear it's just the singular dev team choosing not to do what fans want or being generous.
Kids dont know how companies work.they think hoyo games are managed by the same people just be cause they are the same company

Even NIKKE had a extremely different anniversary where they not only gave away more pulls than Genshin probably ever gave in it’s entire existence but they also gave a unit that by itself is a very good character. Like this free character is better than some of the gatcha characters and not only that they have enough copies to fully limit break it. Like Genshin could never compete in the free rewards either with their own company’s games or any other gatcha game.

Dr. Ratio gains stacks and a higher chance to follow up when he attacks enemies who have more debuffs. Prior to his release Ruan Mei's ultimate didn't apply a debuff, at least not one counting for Dr. Ratio. When he was released they changed it so that Ruan Mei Ult counts as a debuff for Ratio.

When she released the way Ruan Mei Ult worked it did not count for Ratio because Reasons. I don't actually know how it worked, just that they changed something and it counted for Ratio where it didn't before.
The entire Aloy collab in Genshin felt like something Sony forced onto them.

been saying it since HSR's release, with David Jiang also having been in HI3's lead for how long he was there and him also being in HSR as lead, HSR is just what happens when you give Genshin's systems and UI to honkai (series) team.
The same HI3 that, after a certain point, started releasing a completely grindable S rank (5 star) yearly on the patch after the anniversary to allow their players to recoup the cost of the anniversary spending events and inevitable herrscher release. Also the same HI3 that decided after a certain point that if they're releasing double S ranks in the same patch to give one of them for free (Spina Astera and Palatinus Equinox released the same patch, SA was given for free in that patch she was released in. Herscher of Origin and Herscher of Finality came out on the same patch, both are herrscher characters (so, think archons in genshin), gave HoO for free in that same patch).
No cause in a game like HSR that has the same powercreep as it's predecessor Honkai Impact, getting a free character, ESPECIALLY A META ONE IN THE CURRENT UPDATE, is a blessing from the lords, especially if you're F2P/goldfish and want to get him and his LC.

Another thing that has to be said about Aloy and the collab with HZD is that you only get the full collab gifts if you link a PSN account, which included Aloy's signature weapon. And even after you linked them, the weapons' passives only works if you are still playing on your PS Genshin account. So not only was Aloy undesirable, but the weapons that came with her were worse than some 3 star weapons. It was like they didn't want the collab to be enjoyable from its conception.

As a HI3 player for a long time it is nice that Honkai generosity in HI3 is now in HSR. I did try genshin on launch but it wasn't for me I reach until Fischl and continued playing HI3. If the trend continues we might get actual physical freebies like in Hi3 we have artbooks for free for a limited quantity and you just finish the event get the scores up and Mihoyo sends you an art book we are in volume 2.

Honestly i’m really glad we got dr ratio for free i wasn’t sure if i could get ruan mei (no lc) and dr ratio + lc but somehow i have argenti ruan mei and now dr ratio even though i lost 50/50 on both argenti (took me like 150 pulls) and ruan mei (90 pulls) and i still have 14k jades for dr ratio lc, thank you hsr :’)
Aloy is not only boring she's really bad in like her mechanics are bad after she uses skills she drops some bombs and after the enemy walk over 4 of them she gets a infusion and some dmg bonus and unless the enemy has a huge hit box you just can't proc it reliably and her ult is just dmg no mechanics at all and not a lot of dmg too it's just sad how her kit doesn't even work properly

The most toxicity actually comes from HSR players, who spit on Genshin on every possible occasion, because, flash news, a lot of HSR players are actually ex-Genshin players who left Genshin for HSR because they weren't satisfied with the rewards and various QoL stuff in Genshin.
Want proof? Just make a quick google search on how many times phrases like "hsr" or "star rail" appear on Genshin reddit sub and then do the same for "genshin" on hsr sub. The diffierence is huge. Basically, Genshin players don't give a flying sh&t about HSR, while HSR players can't live a day without mentioning Genshin somewhere, or drawing some comparisons or posting memes like "genshin could never". It feels like half of the HSR sub is about Genshin.
Do you know why Genshin anniversary drama wasn't as big this year, despite the fact that the rewards are mostly the same as always? Because the ones who were mad the most and were the loudest about it... left Genshin to play HSR. Or maybe they play both games. But they don't care about Genshin as much as they used to, so they aren't review bombing anymore. The most toxic Genshin players are now HSR players.
I definitely do think that's part of it. Ex-genshin players who didn't like the direction the game went and instead of just saying the game just isn't for them they get frustrated when the game doesn't change for them. And even if it's a small percentage of former genshin players that's still a lot because genshin is so popular. There are also just some people in general that think it's entertaining and kind of fan the flames not caring about who "wins"(for lack of a better word because no one does).

Alloy isn’t even a 5 star. She has no constellations and no personal weapon. Dr. Ratio is an actual banner unit that they gave us for free. It would be like if they just gave out a free Hu Tao. I play all Mihoyo games and the thing about them is that you can clear all content with the 4 star units. The higher tier units, if they are better at all, are usually only good for easier clearing. Genshin was known for having great 4 star units so you never needed a free 5 star. Honkai Impact had good free or farmable units but it’s much harder to score high with them. HSR, on the other hand, has quite a few meh 4 stars and most of the power comes from 5 stars. They likely gave us Dr. Ratio for free because the 4 stars are less impressive than 4 star units normally are in Mihoyo games.
i stopped playing midway through xianzhou, about 5~6 months ago, and when coming back last week, i was pleasantly surprised to still receive him. even if i'm rarely going to play him, he still seems cool. as for aloy? i specifially waited the entire year so her mail would disappear and i wouldn't get her, because i didn't care about her at all.

Yeah it be like that. I think the problem was expectations. Some people came into genshin expecting anime God of War only to get T-rated Lego video game. They were then stuck with this for 2.5 years, becoming disgruntled. Then comes hsr. They migrate over, realize it fulfills their desires, and proceed to give genshin crap for not being the same game.
well those "genshin could never" people are the players that come from genshin to HSR and get treated better than when they were in genshin.

The early days of Genshin were both expected to be similar to and upon release compared to Breath of the Wild because there are a few noteable similarities between both games (mostly mechanics). People also had the expectation that, as a gacha game, they would definitely want to make money and be stingy in most practices but they would also offer enticing rewards to those who played at certain times or during special events like anniversaries. In Honkai Impact 3rd they gave out a free S rank character so expecting something similar in Genshin was not completely out of the question but instead Hoyo made a ludicrous amount of money, gave very little in return, and told their playerbase to be happy and this rightfully angers a lot of people.
While I agree people use the debate between HSR and Genshin to trash on either game and that is something that shouldn't be happening, I do feel like the Ratio vs Aloy and HSR vs GI debate is something that definitely needs to be talked about, especially for the sake of Genshin. There is also a large overlap between HSR playerbase and Genshin and the ones going "Genshin could never" are usually those who are sick of Genshins stuff. Genshin just does so many things wrong or completely ignores what the majority of the community ask for that looking at HSR and how that game is being treated it's hard to not notice that Genshin could do with some improvement. Content loop wise, they are very similar games; build resin passively, spend on materials and artifacts, do story, complete end game content. The problem arises with Genshin in that it does not respect the players time, never takes criticism to heart, and has less avenues to balance RNG in the players favour. As for Aloy vs Ratio, it is quite clear that Ratio is the objective winner of the debate and Aloy just isn't even comparable besides just being a free 5 star. Ratio's not a limited time collaboration character, he's a limited banner character so not only can he get eidolons but he is also going to be the current strongest single target DPS in the game whereas Aloy was nothing special on launch, and even less special today.
They're treated the same. Hsr gives you jades and pulls aplenty to get all the meta you can handle. Conversely, Genshin gives you several free characters for each element and puzzle. Traveler for anemo, Amber and Xiangling for pyro, Kaeya for cryo, Lisa for electro, Barbara for hydro, Noelle and Traveler for geo, Collei for dendro, and Traveler and Lynette for arke in Fontaine.@@Cephalon_inviss

Nobody was even excited at Dr ratio the whole posts are just "genshin could never" "genshin blablabla" for like 10 consecutive posts in the sub and even after the drama people still creates posts about genshin in the sub

@@dainosukun1066 Wdym nobody was excited for Dr. Ratio, a lot of people were looking forward for him, I even saved pulls, it's why it became a huge thing in the first place because he is meta and not just a throwaway 5s. He literally has the highest single target damage in the game BY A MILE and at E6, he easily becomes the highest dealing damage unit in general. It's why it was baffling that they give him out when he's one of the best units.
it is mostly the fact that those are likely old genshin player or still plays, and like getting out of toxic relationship, they will be wrathful at their ex
no bc we actually could have unrestricted 5-star selector in HSR as they have an actual competition between similar games
