What a loving tribute to your loving wife, Barbara, of 45 years, Bob! Emmylou is a very favorite of mine, too! You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I know Barbara is smiling down upon you. God bless, Charles (Brother Charlie Pratt, O.H.)
Thanks, Charles. I appreciate that. Yes, my lovely wife was amazingly gorgeous, but that's not really what attracted me to her. I was attracted by her Godlienss. She was a child of God. Amazing devotion to Him. That was where the real beauty was. Her extraordinary physical beauty was just an extra bonus. Oh, I miss her so much. But I have the assurance that I will one day be reunited with her for eternity. So I am leaning on Isaiah 40:31, waiting upon the Lord.
Thank you for sharing your story. Glad you didn't take her back she would have only done it again to ya so you made the right choice and smile knowing you didn't fall for the wrong woman.
Thanks for sharing. I ran into Emmylou (her recordings) in college, some four and a half decades ago… a buddy had a cassette in his glovebox and we listened to her (and Willie Nelson!) on a long road-trip
Bob, I found a comment you wrote on a Kari Jobe video recently about losing your sweet wife to this life, but it is a mere vapor. You will be with her for all eternity. She just got there first! What joy she is encountering with her heavenly father and all the saints. I will pray a prayer of peace for you, dear brother...from Texas.
Aw, my sentiments exactly. My feeling is that my time without my lovely bride is just a tiny sliver of time compared to the eternity I will one day have with her and with Jesus. So I just focus on Isaiah 40:31, which says "Those who wait upon the Lord will have their strength renewed." So that is how I am coping. It's all good. I am at peace.
Such a wonderful tribute to your beautiful wife. God bless you and know that one day you’ll be reunited with her forever. My prayers our with you. ✝️🤲🏻
