before running my life was just hell - I only eat and sleep with extreme laziness now I run for about 20-30 minutes every day sometime I switch to a simple cardio exercise for 10 minutes a day and my life like heaven, yes I exaggerate but really I enjoy it as much I enjoy drinking coffee
I started running when I was seven years old since then I haven't stopped. Today I am fifty-one years old. I run two to three times a week on the road, woods and mountains. I run seventeen to eighteen kilometers. I totally agree what you said about the benefits. Honestly, I don't run because it's good for my health or to lose weight. I run because I love to run. It was the love of running that allowed me to run until today. Runners, keep running!!
I quit smoking and started running in March 1980, at age 20. Haven't smoked since, and to this day I run three or four times a week, for a total of about 40 kilometers. I never tried a treadmill; I live close to the woods and some lovely trails, and I prefer to be outside, alone.
Running for 47yrs. almost everyday. over 300 half marathons 120 marathon distance training. Just a way of life. I'm retiring just to run more. 60yrs old
good to hear this. I started running longer distances at age of 30 and now I love competing in 5ks. Have got my time down to 20 minutes within 7 months and now I wish I had started earlier.
When I started running, I noticed that I became more and more happy... it was like cleared many of my thoughts... the sudden surge of energy changed my lazy mindset... also before running my sleep was always irregular.. but now I catch sleep right on time....my social phobia reduced.... I became more confident.... ✨
I am 79. I began running at 36. Now I mostly walk, but still run some and compete in the Michigan Senior Olympics 5k and 10k events. And the Flint Crim 10 mile and 20 minutes later the 5k. Last year I covered 1,800. miles in the morning - this morning was a typical 8 1/2 mile (3 hours). I meet an 89 year old and cover over 2 miles with him. You produced an excellent vidio. Yes, the mental help is really a plus. I still enjoy riding my dirt and road motorcycles and water skiing. Running makes this possible. And backpacking into the Wyoming wilderness. Thank you.
You started at 39 and still running at 79... dude stop , rest and have a drink .. but got to hand it to you man , running for 40 years non stop ! What a guy !
I have been running consistently since 2010. I love the endorphins it creates. Positive thoughts are constantly running through my mind as I run. I’m able to come up with great ideas and solutions during my runs.
Just started running. I’m on my first week and I’m starting to feel great. I was suffering from alcoholism and bad eating and my liver was getting bad. I can already feel the difference and feeling more motivated. I can’t wait till I go back to my gastrologist in a few months to hear good news . I will keep it going , especially for my young sons
Don’t stop bro, it cured my depression and now get anxious if i can’t run for more than a week due to work travels or illness. It’s my drug for depression. 5 years and counting
Hot, cold, rain snow, Monday through Friday, gotta go. That’s my motivation. No excuses. Running is a game changer and you can do it any time, any where. And once you get used to it, it’s easy and enjoyable.
Not at all. I’m in my 60s and I started 2 years ago after over 20 years off. My biggest fear was being embarrassed at how pitiful I would look. I just went. I committed to 5 days a week minimum regardless of weather or how I felt. I’ve come to enjoy the bad weather (snow, rain, sub zero temperatures) because I feel like I overcame a bigger obstacle. Just commit. Start slow. The first week or 2 you may be really sore, but before you know it, you’ll be doing fine. Just keep at it. Don’t allow yourself any excuses. Best of luck to you!!! Oh. Make sure you have good shoes. I started with shoes that had very little padding and started having severe foot pain. Got better shoes. Problem solved.
I’m 24. stopped weight training and started running because my physique goals changed. I’ve been enjoying the challenge of running, it’s a huge mental battle more than anything. I surprise myself with how far I get on each run. I feel more confident, stronger, lighter and happier. Working towards a 10K. Wish me luck 🍀 Edit: included weight training back into my routine, running did NOT give me the physical results I wanted, but I’ve never been fitter!
hello hi can you tell me how you run consistently. Because i wasn't able to run continuous for a week completely. I hardest challenge is to wake up early and to go for running.
@@Moksha_Rahasyam hi there. I don’t run everyday. I run every second day for 4km cos I’m still getting into it. It’s hard to wake up at 6am everyday but I want to lose weight so I have to 😂😂
I'm 38, started using the treadmill, Speed at 3.0 for 40mins. I'm on week 2! I'm a chubby and really am willing to lose more weight because I want to be fit and in shape. I want to look good, feel good, and love myself. I am willing to become the greatest version of myself. Everybody pray for me that I keep it up and I will! Being healthy is everything to me. 🙂
just keep doing it it will happen! but dont focus on the body loss, think more about the mental gain. this way, when you've eventually lost weightr you will control it better since you've mastered the philosophy on the mental grind, instead of tracking the fat loss.
@@_johnny_blaze_ man get back on it believe me don't focus on weightloss. just remember it makes you feel manly and levels up your mentality. the weightloss should be on the backside of the story! keep itup
Hello everyone! I’m Shane and I’m 29 years old and have just started running 3 miles a day for about two weeks straight now. I just finished 6 miles today and I couldn’t be happier, I wanted to do more but hey it’s about getting out and doing something positive, plus it was over 100 degrees out here in Northern California today no need to over do it! Anyways I love everyone’s stories, both older and younger both are an inspiration to keep at it. God bless everyone! Thank you again for the love and positivity you all shared!
Running has changed my life. Kept me sane amidst stress arrows. Made me and kept me fit! Enabled me to lose the weight I previously struggled with. I feel sad when I miss a running session, and I look forward to the next morning so running and I can be together again. This video, I agree with, 100!
I’m back, ha ha. 76 now. Ran a 10k three months ago. Now I’m back and just jogging now, but will increase time and distance. I love these videos. I believe in the advice. It works. Plus I love running
I’m 75, just ran a 37 minute 5 k, which is good for me, but I train five days a week. I hope to get faster. A workout class has proven very helpful. The other three days I just run on a middle school track. I have not yet raced but looking forward to it. Wish me luck.

I started running really young. My father used to train for half marathons in the forest and I would join him on my bike but when I turned 8 or so, I started running with him and have continued ever since. I’m 20 now and I decided in January to finally cross of the marathon out of my bucket list and now I’m only a week away from it. It has to be said, training for the marathon doesn’t give me the same pleasure as casually running because my mind is focused on performance but the improvements I made in the last 3 months are incredible.
@@reverietrades oh wow. I forgot about this hahaha. It went really well. My goal was to do 3h30 and I ended up doing 3h28 so I’m really happy with how I did. I’m currently training for my second marathon that will be in October.
Yes I run, I try to run 10km everyday, I’ve done 568km this year. Running a lot this year is really helping me so far, I lost my mum in march, going for a run helps me balance how i feel mentally and Emotionally. I prefer to on run on the streets, I get to feel the beautiful nature more, the birds whispering in the morning, and more aware of my environment. To top it all, i miraculously lost about 12kg in 4 months already.
I am 36. I started running since last 2 months. I have never been doing any sort of running my entire life and now I run almost 5KMs every time I run and I run 4 times in a week. It took me literally 3 months mentally to make myself run. My initial 15 to 20 runs were very difficult. My brain will find all sot of excuses not to run after 1 or 2 mins of running. It is not a easy piece of cake yet, but after consistently pushing my a$$ I am now able to run 5KMs every time. I still have my days of excuse, the most insane thing for me was to get me mentally prepared. I would love to make it to 10KMs before the end of 2023. I am hoping! Nice Video and I am testimony that we sleep well when we run consistently.
I retired at 61 six years ago. I have always been active but sitting behind a desk 41 years meant my fitness levels were poor I had no stamina. 11 years ago I ran a half marathon in a time of 2hours 25mins (having to walk at mile 12) Last September I ran another half marathon in 2hours 2minutes (no walking or stopping). My endurance levels have improved as I’ve grown older. I now run 5k park runs (personal best 23.39) I row on coastal waters (once a week) which I find complements the running. Finally I encourage everyone no matter what age, size or gender to get some form of exercise. It is what we are all meant to do.
I’ve been running all my life. 65 now with no issues with joints or anything else. Still feel great and do fell running now for enjoyment. Keep on running its great for the soul 😁💪👍
Hi! I am 52 and just started running. I been doing it for four weeks now and love it! I only do intervals though for now.. like expample I can jog 12 minutes straight then a fast walk for 2 minutes then go back to 12 minutes. And so forth mostly for 30 or 45 minutes. I do the workouts in ibex here on YT and also a YT channel called tread chic. I am trying to keep going till I can do it with no injuries. My question to u is, do u jog everyday? Or should I skip a day and do it every other day? I do that now and on days between I try to lift weights. I am trying to lose weight so I can continue to jog. But I do notice if I run to many times a week I start to feel strange in my feet or knee or hip. I am wanting to know if I still feel good the very next day should I go ahead and run again? Or just go on to weight lift to be safe? I am working up to jogging for the entire time one day. And be able to jog more times a week. It feels awesome when I am done. Just once in a while the next day I may feel something that o get scared so I back off some. Lol thanks! I just like to hear from others
Thanks for this video! I run for an hour every day. I was always running outdoors before I had my son, though being a parent meant less flexibility to just leave the house and run for 60 mins whenever I wanted to, so I've been using the treadmill to get by for years. I stopped running on the treadmill a few months ago and began running outside again. Running outdoors definitely is more beneficial if you can run where the air is clean; the difference it makes to your body and ability is so deep in contrast. Running on a treadmill for years and my body barely changed if I wasn't also doing yoga. Running outdoors with steep hills, different terrain, and no yoga; my body shape has already changed and my core strength is so much better. I'll never go back to running on a treadmill now that my son is old enough to leave at home on his own for an hour. Running outdoors in amongst nature is so much better!
I was overweight my whole life. At 23 I was close to 300 lbs. In January 2021 I discovered the magic of eating in a calorie deficit and getting in weight training with moderate cardio. At the time I was not running, but walking on the treadmill with a good incline and doing the elliptical. Nine months later and over 100 pounds down, I was on the treadmill one day walking and I felt the need to go faster. I wanted to feel the bounce of a jog, but I was scared. I got a Nike Apple Watch with Nike Run Club and it changed my life. For the first time I didn’t feel like running was a punishment or like I had to keep up with anyone. The coaching plans on there and the audio guided runs are so informative and our like therapy. They’re about so much more than running now I can run a 25 minute 5K or a 52 minute 10K, and I’m still working on getting even better! But it has changed my life for good and I am such a happier person now
I am 34. Gave up smoking last year after about 20years of everyday smoking. Started running as advised by my dad. It took about a month to start loving running. Now i run 50-60km every week and progressing to my first marathon. I did a couple of solo half marathon runs and my PB was 01:39:00, 10k at 41mins. Loving it and i know i wont stop.
Completely agree with your video! I started running consistently at age 40. I just found a convenient loop around neighborhood that I progressively expanded until I was doing about 4 miles 4 times a week. I ran my first marathon at age 51 and have done 6 now including Boston. I consider running a true blessing and think it has helped greatly with coping with life's stresses and I always think of it as "Meditation in Motion". Alot can be done to avoid Injury with correct form/strengthening so keep learning and visit a good running coach or physical therapist to evaluate you. On the back of my first marathon shirt it say's " Thank you GOD for allowing me to Live, Move and have my Being" .
My case is a little bit similar to yours. I started running at age 45, just for health …i began readin about races, and started running 10k…later half marathons, and finally Valencia marathon in nov 17. I was planning to run Madrid marathon (i,m spanish), and later NYC (i love NYC), but then cardiologyst detected something wrong in a heart valve, and doctor asked me to forget races. I began running races at nearly 6min per km, and finished in about 4:45min per km. But I still run, again jusr for health, and I love it. I can,t live without it. I finally visited NYC and ran a couple of times in Central Park, one of the best experiences in my life there.
No words to explain the adrenaline rush after 10 minutes of run . It’s a pleasure ! Only a running community can enjoy & live this passion .. Great running to all my community runners . I consider every runner as my community .. no caste . No religion , no nationality , no gender .. just Runners 🏃
Seriously! I JUST started running regularly and the "runner's high" is REAL. After my run, I feel like I am on some kind of drug or something. It's amazing
I’m a high school runner, and I run xc and distance track and I love the benefits of running. The main reason i stick with it is to improve my racing times as it’s always a good feeling when you hit a pr. I ran 8.25 miles this morning in 57:30 and I feel great. Running definitely relieves stress.
pleeeease make sure youre keeping a good diet. thats something i regret not fixing during middle school and high school. lay off the fast food. take your multivitamin daily. also take a look into liquid iv! its awesome.
i have run regularly for over 25 years and running out doors has many advantages over running indoors. Running outdoors in the early morning and hearing the birds, seeing dogs being walked and other nature events is uplifting and gives me a huge psychological lift.
I prefer treadmills for it's precision training in a sterile environment void of distraction. I don't care about seeing dogs or birds. I can go to the park after the treadmill.
@ArchimedeanEye No I'm not. The 'sterile" I'm referring to means the environment is free of distraction. Think of the sterile cockpit rule in flying. When I run I'm training for maximum physical potential. I'm not running to have an outdoor experience. That's just me.
I like running in the streets with less traffic and less pollution.I am a senior runner, and addicted to it.I am also a generally happy person.Agree and endorse all the benefits you mentioned. It's a way of real life! Greetings from Colombo Sri Lanka with love for all people of good WILL!🙌🙋🌹🌹🌹
I am a comparatively new runner (its been 12 weeks approx). What I can vouch is pushing yourself to run longer distances like 2kms even at a slow tempo gives superb adrenaline rush and mental peace for the whole day. I run outside, not on a treadmill.
Just do it! When I started running 5 years ago, I could not do it for more than 2 Kilometers but just by being consistent, I gradually improved and last year I completed half-marathon. I am aiming to complete full marathon this year. It's all about the mindset, anyone can do just be regular and keep pushing! I love to run outside but the weather in Canada isn't quite favorable, so tredmill to the rescue! I have had runner's knee and I learnt, it's a good idea to mix exercises (biking is just as amazing and does not have a huge impact on your knees). Oh, did I mention, I used to weigh 90 Kgs and had depression. Now I am 70, with better muscles :) Happy running folks! I am going to run outside right now!
I used to hate running as a kid and teen. I started running in my mid 20's, and now at 26 I enjoy it more than any other exercise. I can't believe what I missed out on.
Right? I feel like I'm on the same track now. I really hated it all through high school and now at 21 I randomly discovered that - who would have thought - it can be super enjoyable and satisfying, if you do it right
Iam now 73yrs old I started running 42 yrs ago . I run average 4 km 3 times a week. I used to run on open air but few yrs ago I started running on treadmill in the gm this gives me the opportunity to do strength training and flexibility excercise beside cardio. Based on my long experience u will gain more by combining strength flexibility and balance training beside jogging .At my seventies Ido the same distance and speed wise of my thirties by the grace of god and my consistency.
I run on the street. I started running pretty late, in my early forties. It was very difficult to get used to it, but you can't imagine how much surprised I was when it turned out that I could run without panting at all and without actual fatigue, like I keep running on and on without feeling any signs of tiredness that I felt in the beginning of my training. I must admit that it takes years to come into this shape, but it's worth it for sure. ...And I almost forgot to say: "Yes, I confirm each and every statement voiced in this video". Thanks for making it!
Running outside beats the treadmill any day! I run outside rain/snow or shine :) Agree with all the benefits you outlined. Running for about 25 years now.
I have started running recently. It's just been 18 days so far. And, I am experiencing several benefits like Improved mood, Strong legs and a feel of accomplishment. It's great to run.
Started running about a year and a half ago just to try and lose weight. I couldnt even run a full mile, I signed up for a local 5k race and got addicted. I ran a half marathon recently and signed up for a few more this year. It has helped dramatically with my mental health more than any medication my doctor throws at me!
When I first started to run, I ran on the treadmill but did not like the feeling after getting off. I then chose to run outside and feels alot better. I am up to 3 miles a day and am only stopping once to catch my breath. It has been getting easier for me. Thanks for this amazing video to keep motivated and keep running daily. All of things you point out in this video are true facts because I am living proof. Thanks.
I started running in the jail gym on a treadmill in 2012.When I was released I jogged outside and it has changed my life . Still running 10 years later.. So simple and effective.. Happy Summer 2022
Re knee pain, it depends on technique. If you heal strike (with small support on the shoe), you are at greater risk of an injury. If you front/mid strike your knee is less exposed (as the muscles in your lower leg soak up the impact). But yes, running has an amazing benefit for us and don’t worry about pace - run for enjoyment!
This video is so motivating! I had no idea that just 30 minutes of running could bring so many benefits - from boosting mood to improving sleep. Definitely going to start running more often!
I was an All State cross country runner in 2015 and was captain of my Cross country team for 2 years. Running definitely is the best way to motivate yourself to do anything else! Outside has always been way more enjoyable for myself as well as easier. Working harder indoors is always a challenge because no wind in your face and the feeling of actually traveling is taken away from you.
I haven’t ran/sprinted since school days but recently started at 38 years old. I love the rush I get after a 20 mins run. So far it’s on the treadmill at the gym
I run at the park during the day when the weather isn't too hot, and in town during the night when it's hot during the day. It's more pleasant for me this way. I run almost every day. My sleep still sucks but I do benefit from the other positive effects covered in this video.
I always tell everyone "running is to body as meditation is to mind". I run regularly averaging 50kms a month. My best pace is 4:47min/km for 12kms. However, I like to mix up running with Cycling, Bodyweight exercises, dumbbell exercises, HIIT and trekking.
I usually stay within 6min/km for 10km. And enjoy going much longer around this pace. I'm not bad at sprinting or fast manovers but my cadence sucks over extended periods of time.
@@akashshelke5330yes it is🙏. I have quite a chaotic schedule right now so either I run nearly every day or can`t fit it into a working week at all. Consistent morning or evening runs are far better.
I’ve Igor into weight loss two year ago. I’m not a runner or anything but I just want to thank everyone in the comment section for sharing their experiences, it really motivates me to run.
I started running at age 43 and just turned 60. On no medication and have a great immune system! I now run with my dog so we both stay healthy. I am addicted and run 5 to 6 days a week. You mentioned if you live in Miami makes it easier but I live in West Palm Beach and it is brutal in the Summer. I used to run on the “dreadmill” as I call it to escape the heat and humidity, but now I run at 5:00 Am before work and still can get a few miles in until November when it starts to get cooler. Great video!
I lost a lot of weight running! This was when I joined the military. Now I continue to run but I also do strength training and martial arts. I hate running in the cold. I would rather run in the heat. So in the winter it's the treadmill and summer outside! Excellent video! Thanks
@@ToughTimesNevrLastToughPPLDo no I'm not worried about any health hazards. It just seems to take so long to warm up and I like to get a good sweat going when I workout. So they do that in the cold I have to wear a lot of clothes. That's really the only reason
@@scottyg5403 i hate treadmills and just run in the cold no matter how bad it gets with snow and below zero weather. I dont mind all the layers of clothing but i do agree with you that its a hassle. Other than that though i love it and it makes me feel accomplished when i complete a run in bad weather.
Seeing the beauty run along the surf improved my day and made me happy. I will continue to walk/run 4 to 5 times a week with minimum 10,000 steps each time. I absolutely feel great…I absolutely support this video!
@@shubhamchoudhary4269 It has been great although I increased the distance gradually. Started by running 1 Km then 2 and worked up to 5km in several months. I used to go to the gym but now I only run and exercise a bit post running. I am skinny and weight 67Kgs. I have maintained this weight for a long time. I feel great after every run . It tough at the beginning but once I get into it then I stop only after I have run the entire 5km track
I am a runner. I'm in my old age now and a lot slower; but still love it. I was doing 4.5 road miles, but injured my knee walking on a tread mill. Now I do 2.5 three times a week. If I could only do one exercise then running is it. It's the king of all exercises. If you're a martial artist it's where you get your stamina. Nothing is closer to a real match than running because you must push yourself not to quit. Speed isn't as important as finishing the run.
I run consistently 5km four times in a week and every Saturday I mostly run 10to11 kms on Sunday complete rest to my body.. in the present age of 59 I have no bp, diabetes, digestion, and over weight problem, is it best for me or not, any body suggest me please..
@@harbhajansingh5431 I'm almost 59, Mr. Singh; and what works for me is to take at least a day off in between runs. On my "day off" I do maybe deep body weight squats, ab, curl, and\or push ups (mix it up: pick 2). You need some upper body strength training for bone density (strong bones all over). Also you can allow a good blood flow (cardio) by working downstairs (legs) and then an upstairs exercise (pushups). I'm not on any meds either; so God's blessings and running does keep us fit. If you can talk while you're running you should be fine: If you can't talk legible then you're overdoing it and need to rest. I never breath heavily; but I do tire more easily because of my age. We have already done our hard work when we were younger; so we should enjoy our workouts and our life now.
I an now 73, and gave been an off-road runner since I was 35. Circumstances have prevented me from running lately, but I will be running again shortly. Everything in this video presentation is true, I whole-heartedly recommend running regularly.
I run 30-45 3-5 times a week and I breath better then when I don’t work out at all , physically I feel better overall, expect when my legs are sore . But it does drain you a lot , so always give yourself a break when needed . The runners high is the best part , one time I hit a runners high and all my focus went into running and didn’t realize I was running for 20 minutes straight. Running is beautiful. I love it !
I started running 8 years ago at age 37 . First I tried to run on the beach because I love the feeling of the sand between my toes and the beauty of the rising Sun in the early morning. Back then 400 m (1/4 mile) was hard. 3-5 times a week improved me a lot and years later I run the coastal walk (Sydney) 3-4 times and comfortably can do half an hour to 45 minutes /day and 6-8km (~4-5 miles). I sometimes run 16 km at ones and preparing myself for the Sydney half Marathon next year.
Yes running changes lots of to our body and also mental health. I am experiencing it. I don't use treadmill, i run in park, never keeps phone or earphones while running just enjoy nature's beauty.
I'm hyped by this video. I've been running twice a week for the past few months. So much improvement on my mood and cardiovascular system. Recovery time has gotten better. Im ready to step it up to daily run
Thank you-Great Information! I run in the morning, mileage varies. I run with good reputable running shoes. I pay attention to my body for potential injuries-I don't try to go hard but at a comfortable pace. I will be 60 soon and a survivor.
I sufferred from severe asthma, but i have been running for almost 30 years. Now, at age 65, I feel much better, I run at least 3 times a week and I hope to keep on running even in the future. To sum it up: running is a great medicine for all manners of evils, both physical AND spiritual.
Love to run. Ive been running off and on for most of my life. Its' like medicine to me. It's the time I can be one with my thoughts, clear the cobwebs in my mind and keep my health on track. Love to run outdoors and take in the fresh air . My runs have saved me on so many occasions. I wish everyone could experience and enjoy the many benefits of "the run". Thanks for putting out the awesome video!
I love jogging, walking consistently, in order to stay in shape. Secondly cardiovascular exercise, creates a stronger mindset and body, speaking for oneself. ✌️ Blessings to everyone involved with the podcast!
Went from never running in my life to taking part in my first 5k and 10k races in a few weeks time! I honestly don't know why I waited so long to get into, it's improved almost every single other important area of my life!
I was overweight when I started running in March this year. It has had a positive impact on both my physical and mental health. I run about 9km per day 6 times a week. I managed to drop 25kg in 4 months and am now at a healthy weight
I haven't experienced the runner's high in many years since training for the 5k and then running 5K or longer once I achieved my goal. It really felt like I was invincible and could run forever! It was such a great feeling!! I just started running again regularly for a year and a half and it definitely helped my knee pain go away, I am happier, and I have improved my endurance so I don't get out of breath easily. When I recently decreased the number of days a week I ran so I can fit in more weight training, I honestly started to feel down again some days. I also run outdoors (I happen to be in Miami lol) so that helps my mood too. After watching this, I am inspired to get more running in again. With work and staying fit I guess I won't have a life but I will be happy and fit. LMAO
runners high can only happer after 20ish minutes, so if youre doing sprints or what not it might not happen. For me, I notice if i purposefully go slower than what i can for the first 15 minutes, then go to a fast pace, it happens more often.
The body gives you that feeling if you run for 30 minutes straight no matter how much endurance you have. I think you probably get it but you are just used to it
I like to push myself further so the treadmill is my way to go, because you set up a speed and you have to keep it up : when running outside, i have a tendency to go easier on myself by just slowing down or walking. And it's also very encouraging because you can see the numbers going up every week, showing that you're making progress in speed and stamina.
@@russell9411 It is debatable whether there is more benefits. For most people, if only they don't run around congested streets, you are right. But for example I'm injury prone and would injure myself every few runs outside, so treadmill is perfect solution. Also, I fully agree with original poster, for me all gym machines are addictive because knowing what my previous results were, I always want to do just a little bit better.. and it works great.
@@maciejguzek3442 I basically do the same thing with a GPS watch. It tells you pace, miles, elapsed time, etc. as you're running--the same as on a treadmill but you get to enjoy the outside. For some reason I just can't push myself on a treadmill. Every equivalent pace to running outside feels burdensome, and I really can't force myself to go past 8 minute miles on the treadmill for more than a few minutes.
@@randomoneforstuff3696 it must be only a matter of individual approach, because I have zero problem with pushing myself on the treadmill - actually most my runs are absolutely maximum effort (although 'just' 12 minutes). Which is kinda funny because what was supposed to be only a warmup has become my primary goal , and in my head those 12 minuts are 90% of the workout while remaining 40minutes of lifting are only insignificant attachment. As a lifelong gymrat I'm totally accustomed to doing everything indoors.
I run as an alternative to weight lifting on days when my muscles are sore or just need a break. That's at least once a week. I cant explain it but I love how running just heals the sore muscles.
All my friends are go to the gym and I don’t have the time as I play two sports that involve lots of running. This video helped show me that running has serious benefits to my body even if the gym guys look healthier
I started running in 2016, age 23 and it literally changes your life. I was inspired by Ronnie O'Sullivan's book "Running" It started off 5km on the treadmill, build up to 10km outdoors and more recently I'm training for the Manchester (UK) marathon. Running outdoors is a drug, seriously it is extremely addictive, start slow and never burn yourself out, my career improved, mental wellbeing, family life, everything... give it a go guys!
Huge Runner here. I started off running on the street but noticed it was more susceptible to injury when running high mileage (4-6 miles per day). This issue completely went away when running on the treadmill. So I concluded that though running outside is more enjoyable, running on the treadmill is better on your joints and ligaments. I would say if you can find a track that would be a good middle ground between the two since it’s outside but softer than concrete and better on your joints. Sorry for the rant. Keep on running !!🏃🏾♂️
Run in the grass, just need to change sneakers because the glue on the soles will go. Also, the lining on top will get holes. But, no knee issues, or ankle or hip worries.
I started running 17 years ago when I was 14. I started with 2 miles a day with one day off. 17 Years later I run 10-14 a day with no days off and I feel great when going into work. It really does do wonders.
@@BRIANDER100 I did a slight tendon issue back in 2015 due to pushing to hard. I took it easy after that by slowing down my pacing as well as take a few weeks off. Then my knee healed. Haven't had an issue since. But now I make sure not to over push on the speed workouts. I saved that for the race.
i ran everyday, every saturday i run long distance 10k-20k, and on other days chilling runs 5-6k, and one time on a week do intervals, i love running so much, thank you for your video
I really like that my endurance grows pretty fast. When I started jogging 10 years ago, after a week of running I was fit enough to run 60 minutes without a break. I thought this was the norm for over 10 years, but after browsing the web recently I found out that normally it takes multiple weeks or a month for a beginner to get to the point where he can run 60 minutes.
Random question, but u think running or jogging around your neighborhood is a great location for this cardio exercise? I’m neighborhood is quite big and I can run around the outside in circles
It's just nice being in cardiovascular shape. I started running many years ago after I noticed an older, bigger coworker at my first job out of college struggle to go up a couple flight of stairs. By the time we got to the third floor, he was huffing and out of breath, visibly struggling to the point that I got worried and felt the need to ask him if he needed medical attention. That moment stuck with me-I promised myself I’d never let my health decline to the point where something as simple as a few stairs would leave me winded. I began running maybe a week later. Haven't stopped since! It's taken over my life.
Outside is my preference by a large margin. Rain or shine, snow or heat. Nothing compares to running in the real nature environment, with its road twists, hills, puddles. Makes your brain work all the time to navigate obstacles and process background information.
take it slow dont rush it and injure your self believe me you will get there and i promise you when you start running and everything feels lighter you get this high its undescribable. running is addicting and very benificial to our health. watch a lot of videos on youtube on how to breath when your running you tube is your information in all tecniques you need its important to run in a propper manner so you wont get injured.
I think i must share my personal experience with the world and help others as well. Just run for 5 kms (after two months of warm up and slowly reaching that level) a day at any pace, means let it take anywhere from 20 mins ( fast) to 40 mins ( slow) and just try doing it for 60 days without any breaks but while taking care, not to over exert or get sport injuries and see the magic happen.... But do take care not to start consuming any extra calories from the present level of consumption and any reduction would indeed help get better and faster results.. PS: DO NOT SKIP THE PRE AND POST RUN 10 MINS OF WARM UPs and STRETCHES. Don't forget to come back and thank me when u get the long awaited never seen before results🤗.
I feel better on treadmill, no time waste in getting ready for that, no one is watching you, no earbuds is dropping from ear while running, due to using speakers, time flexibility, so I love it, cheers
I absolutely love running in nature. I wouldn't be able to do it on a treadmill or even on the street of a city. Living in a remote rural area, I have the privilege to run on solitary roads that go along wheat fields. It's so relaxing. I can contemplate the nature and observe seasonal changes. I rarely have met a human on my way, but I often meet animals. :D Even the weather seem to me be a part of running magic. I mean not only the nice warm days but the rainy, windy, cold and snowy days too. You don't need to live in Florida to run outside all year long. I usually run 3-5 times a week 10-15km.
Blood pressure & cholesterol are back on point. Couldn’t sleep for months also and it was driving me crazy back then I never thought I would get back to regular sleep but cardio and running did wonders!
I started running around 2 years ago and in my opinion The treadmill keeps consistent pace and is good for overall improvement in time and gives a understanding of your comfortable or excessive pace for a set distance. Currently I run at 13kph comfortably for 5k which usually gives me a time of 23 minutes or near enough. On the street I find much more relaxing and dips in pace as your constantly seeing different things. Also to mention inclines/hills that can work your muscles harder and has benefits to improve overall fitness. Both are as good as each other but if you want to get better times I would say treadmill can help give yourself better understanding of what you can/ can't do. Mentioning before my comfortable 5k for 13kph. I want to increase to 14kph for 5k which is a push for me and gradually 15kph for the sub 20 5k. I tend to go for the last .50 on a sprint to emulate the finish of a 5k race.
I ran since I was in high school but the end of school I decided to run everyday besides sick days or travel days, but I always run 1-3hrs a day. water and sleep and diet key, somedays I'll walk if I am sore from work, but diet and sleep and stress. I want to still run until I am old I am now 34. I love to run everyday. it's a passion and it makes me happy.

I quit smoking and started running in March 1980, at age 20. Haven't smoked since, and to this day I run three or four times a week, for a total of about 40 kilometers. I never tried a treadmill; I live close to the woods and some lovely trails, and I prefer to be outside, alone.

Not at all. I’m in my 60s and I started 2 years ago after over 20 years off. My biggest fear was being embarrassed at how pitiful I would look. I just went. Just commit. Start slow. The first week or 2 you may be really sore, but before you know it, you’ll be doing fine. Just keep at it. Don’t allow yourself any excuses.

I began running races at nearly 6min per km, and finished in about 4:45min per km. But I still run, again jusr for health, and I love it. I can,t live without it.
You, sir, are truly amazing. I m sure you look great as well
So motivating. I want to similar to you at age 70 as well
Super sir
12 km per week for 42 years is about 26,208 km in total.
Much appreciated..
Thanks
Running outside beats the treadmill any day! I run outside rain/snow or shine :) Agree with all the benefits you outlined. Running for about 25 years now.
I have started running recently. It's just been 18 days so far. And, I am experiencing several benefits like Improved mood, Strong legs and a feel of accomplishment. It's great to run.
i wonder can it makes my fave thinner tho? cause i really want to get rid of this chubby face
Hope you are still going as I started around the same time. Keep up the work as I'm feeling good mentally/physically! 👍
@@bagas1508 yes runing makes ur face thiner in a fast way ….i hav experiance it ….
Believe me treadmill run is almost nothing in front of outdoor run. Try it
Treadmill is not good for your posterior chain
@@Azadbhagatbose outdoor run hit different
I run at the park during the day when the weather isn't too hot, and in town during the night when it's hot during the day. It's more pleasant for me this way. I run almost every day. My sleep still sucks but I do benefit from the other positive effects covered in this video.
I always tell everyone "running is to body as meditation is to mind". I run regularly averaging 50kms a month. My best pace is 4:47min/km for 12kms. However, I like to mix up running with Cycling, Bodyweight exercises, dumbbell exercises, HIIT and trekking.
4:47 is hella impressive, i play football regularly and even then i still struggle to attain this average pace
@@marvinmwiti9305 Thanks brother
I usually stay within 6min/km for 10km. And enjoy going much longer around this pace.
I'm not bad at sprinting or fast manovers but my cadence sucks over extended periods of time.
@@MrHaggyy that's great. Consistency is what all matters. Isn't it?
@@akashshelke5330yes it is🙏. I have quite a chaotic schedule right now so either I run nearly every day or can`t fit it into a working week at all. Consistent morning or evening runs are far better.
I’ve Igor into weight loss two year ago. I’m not a runner or anything but I just want to thank everyone in the comment section for sharing their experiences, it really motivates me to run.
Thank you, reminding me I will be happy after I run (I felt crappy all day) was what I needed to run today.
Thanks
Any particular reason why you hate running in the cold? Just curious if it is to do with any health hazards
@@ToughTimesNevrLastToughPPLDo no I'm not worried about any health hazards. It just seems to take so long to warm up and I like to get a good sweat going when I workout. So they do that in the cold I have to wear a lot of clothes. That's really the only reason
What treadmill should I buy?
@@scottyg5403 i hate treadmills and just run in the cold no matter how bad it gets with snow and below zero weather. I dont mind all the layers of clothing but i do agree with you that its a hassle. Other than that though i love it and it makes me feel accomplished when i complete a run in bad weather.
@@scottyg5403 I love running on crisy, frosty winter mornings. I actually feel like I can run faster. Each to their own 🙂
Seeing the beauty run along the surf improved my day and made me happy. I will continue to walk/run 4 to 5 times a week with minimum 10,000 steps each time. I absolutely feel great…I absolutely support this video!
I run 5Km every day 5 days a week. I run outside. Nothing better than a morning run
How has it worked out for you?
@@shubhamchoudhary4269 It has been great although I increased the distance gradually. Started by running 1 Km then 2 and worked up to 5km in several months. I used to go to the gym but now I only run and exercise a bit post running. I am skinny and weight 67Kgs. I have maintained this weight for a long time. I feel great after every run . It tough at the beginning but once I get into it then I stop only after I have run the entire 5km track
If you can run 5k *5days a week* you can definitely up it to 10k now.
Edit: nvm man, do what works for you and stay healthy
5 km, in how much time?
will I loose belly fat If jogg 5 km every day
I am a runner.
Great bro
I had some tough panic attacks and started a routine of running everyday for 30 minutes, within a month or two it was amazingly helpful.
Yes running changes lots of to our body and also mental health. I am experiencing it. I don't use treadmill, i run in park, never keeps phone or earphones while running just enjoy nature's beauty.
I started walking/ running last month and am feeling great.

LMAO
Good
runners high can only happer after 20ish minutes, so if youre doing sprints or what not it might not happen. For me, I notice if i purposefully go slower than what i can for the first 15 minutes, then go to a fast pace, it happens more often.

This is so true I can run longer on a treadmill but I wanna run more outside ya u will progress everyday which is very satisfying
@@visionblurry7891 run outside its more benefits and its not repetitive running on a treadmill
I’ve been running since 2008 and I tell you the benefits are immense..
I was inspired by Ronnie O'Sullivan's book "Running"
It started off 5km on the treadmill, build up to 10km outdoors and more recently I'm training for the Manchester (UK) marathon.

I used to run outside, uphill for 30min. Now, I run on the treadmill for 20, plus weight training. Love my exercise.
Tread mill sucks in my opinion should of stood with outdoor runs so much more better and therapeutic
Outside is my preference by a large margin. Rain or shine, snow or heat. Nothing compares to running in the real nature environment, with its road twists, hills, puddles. Makes your brain work all the time to navigate obstacles and process background information.
I have insomnia very often. Ever since i atarted running. It helps me sleep better
Excellent you had motivated me already. I am going to begin my running immediately. My heartfelt thanks!
take it slow dont rush it and injure your self believe me you will get there and i promise you when you start running and everything feels lighter you get this high its undescribable. running is addicting and very benificial to our health. watch a lot of videos on youtube on how to breath when your running you tube is your information in all tecniques you need its important to run in a propper manner so you wont get injured.
That sounds perfect! I have a similar experience where I live. What a privilege. Keeps me balanced.
Blood pressure & cholesterol are back on point. Couldn’t sleep for months also and it was driving me crazy back then I never thought I would get back to regular sleep but cardio and running did wonders!
I use these type of videos to get my butt of the comfy couch & go out for a run this early in the morning! Great video, thanks!
I started running this year 2024 March and I quit smoking drinking and fast food also and now a time 5 Km in under 24 minutes 😊😊💓💓💓 stay fit
