You should just make a 10 seconds video and just say they are all great, just buy one, or two even three if you like, you will definitely be satisfied 😁😁😁😁 Fuji all the way. 📸📸📸
@@KenTheoriaApophasis You shoot a picture of a helicopter parked on a mountain top, from about 20 feet away and you want the aircraft and the valley below and behind the aircraft all in sharp focus at a size of 30X40 inches, which system do you need?
PEntax 645z was the first medium format with ibis and incredible weather sealing. Autofocus sucks but for its time it was and still is a beast. No L bracket needed for 645z but you got me on the weight and mirror slap.
I really hope fujifilm makes a gfx camera with the performance of gfx100 but in the body of gfx50s, which is much more mobile and can replace my fullframe system.
Love this and your channel, thanks for doing these videos. I totally agree with you. I love my old 645Z but can’t wait for my copy of the GFX100 to arrive because everything wrong with the Z is fixed with this new “hybrid”. Size, lens cost, lens options and IBIS, omg, IBIS!!! Ps I did get the tilt adapter on order out of the gate, it actually arrived before the camera! Lol
Hey Ken, What is your favorite Adapted Lens on gfx? I own the Voigt. 40mm 1.2 (m Mount) and think about getting the infamous 58mm 1.4 (f Mount) or the Classic zeiss planar 50mm. Wanna get the 50R Bit probably Cannot afford lenses from the Start. Really appreceate your opinion on this. Best Chris
i hate using my tilt adapter on the gfx50s and gfx100 because when i use it in studio, the weight of the flash trigger makes the view finder not work properly while bringing the camera to my face. I have to move it away and bring it back to my eye for it to work. I know its a defect of the tilt adapter not making full contact and making it not work properly. It has gotten so annoying (because i use my cameras hand held) that i have removed it while using flash.
@@KenTheoriaApophasis thats what i thought a while back, but when i went to the GFX100 preview at Samys Camera back in June, there was another guy with the same problem and then the Fuji guy told me they new about the issue.
I don't have this problem with mine (on a 50s). Could the difference be in the triggers we are using as the camera detects when you are putting your eye to the viewfinder and different triggers may protrude effecting ones angle of approach? By the way I took your advice about the tilt adaptor when purchasing my camera and am so glad I did, it transforms the user experience for me.
@@paulvenn7598 it could be the triggers. maybe some are heavier than others. The viewfinder works fine, when my eye is not close to it. So maybe when i bring it to my face and put a little bit of preasure the screen goes black due to a faulty contact.
@@paulvenn7598 i have the 50s for 6months... i use it for commercial photos, i'm dreaming about the tilt finder, i can afford it but for 500bucks is it really worth? i'm thinking about secondhand tilf finder (to make it worth), but you know this camera is not for everyone....really hard to find the second hand :)
Actually ,GFX50r has slightly better AF than 50S,which unfortunately the latter didn't get it via firmware. Also, face detection of the GFX100S is better than the X-T2.
apropos ram. i do juwelry work and have a lot of layers in Photoshop. My 50s Files are about 2GB at the end... so since i have 128GB RAM and using 60GB of this RAM as a RAM-Disk for the Photoshop cachesystem, it works flawless. So if you do serious work with the 50s or even the 100, you better pimp your computer, because you cant work as smooth with only 16GB RAM. I tested it, and the result was buying a new workstation.
Great insights as always. Love the work you do. I have a quick question re shutter shuck. I am thinking of getting the GFX 50r but I have been reading some articles that outline that shutter shock does exist in the Fuji offerings - but that there are technologies on board that that mitigate the problem on both the 50s and 50 r (not withstand the obvious addition of ibis to the 100). I am just wondering how bad a problem this really is for the 50r and if this is something to be concerned about. Thanks for any info you might have and also for the great work you do.
Coni Glione Thanks! Yes, I may be overthinking this, but it was my understanding that due to the increase in size of shutter on medium format that the chance of shutter shock increases the faster the shutter. This is why the gfx switches over to electronic shutter around 500th. However, I could be wrong about this. No matter, people seem to be buying and using the thing with spectacular results. So, as I said, I may be overthinking things here, etc. Thanks again for your response! Will let you know as soon as I get the thing. Presently saving for that eventuality...
I haven't done a side by side A-B comparison, but I don't notice much difference between my 50R and d800. Yes, the shutter is bigger, but there is also no mirror. You're really not going to get much better for medium format without making the camera a lot heavier.
Is it easy to learn photography terms on google or youtube lol? Stuff like 45mm lens but is a 35mm equivalent? I still dont know what stuff like prime and potrait lenses are even if the term potrait i understand. Man this world is so large. Was seriously impressed by the specs of this camera but i am more of a casual photo taker of landscape and scenery so no for product shots i suppose. Good video. Thanks. Also 600mb files? wth thats bonkers. On my mere mortal olympus jpegs are like 2mb each and raw is like 16. Then again thats a 16mp noob lol.

Agreed on the angle adapter! Take 50s over the R.S has better ergonomics, hands down. My 50s shoots 100mb raw!
The shutter shock is incredibly “soft” on the 50r, they did an amazing job with it!
Question, say you want to blow up the images from all three cameras to around 30X40 inches, how much difference are you going to get?
between what and what? its about viewing distance anyway

I am saving up for the GFX50R with the macro lens. My dream kit!!! wait for it.........................FUJI!!!
The resolution for shuttershock: a leaf shutter like any other medium format camera manufacturer will provide.

I am waiting for a 50mp gfx with gfx100s specs. 100mp is to much for my work.
Why would you need or keep all three?
50R: travelling
100: general use
50s: backup
Why do you put hook and loop inside the lens hood?
Reduces internal reflections 😉
the onley thing i wish my New gfx 50r had is the same imageoutput as the gfx100 im also looking at sonys new a7r4 amazing specs
Did I miss the Nikon Z50 review ?

Even if I could find a great bargain on a used GFX body I still couldn't afford the lenses 😞
