- Air Jordan 12 Restoration - One man’s trash is another man’s treasure… such is the case when you put a beat up pair of Jordans in the hands of Vick Almighty. This wrecked pair of Bordeaux Air Jordan 12s may look bad, but Vick and his trusty RESHOEVN8R should make quick work of this sneaker restoration.
Let’s start by cleaning up these Air Jordan 12s with the RESHOEVN8R Essential Kit. Vick used the Solution and Soft brush to clean up the delicate suede uppers, the Medium brush to scrub the midsoles, and the Stiff brush to tackle the outsole.
When you’re cleaning a suede sneaker, it’s important to avoid getting the suede too wet. With heavily dyed shoes like the Bordeaux 12s, the suede will bleed some color, so you have to be careful to avoid accidentally dying the white midsole.
After the preliminary clean, it’s easy to see that the Bordeaux Jordan 12s are already looking much better. Can you believe that these were probably going to be thrown away? But Vick is never satisfied: we still have some more work to do.
See that yellow sole? Most people don’t know that this yellowing is reversible. RESHOEVN8R Sole Revive and the powerful UV rays of the Vick 2000 turned the sole crispy white!
Next up let’s tackle the creasing on the midsole. The easiest way to remove creasing from foam midsoles is a heat gun. Once the creasing was removed, it’s time to sand down the scuffs on the midsole and prep it for new paint.
To color match the paint Vick ended up mixing 6 different colors. Finding the perfect match can take some time, but it’s well worth it, we want this shoe to look like it’s straight from the factory. With the fresh paint laid down, we can shift our efforts to the suede, which after our clean has become crunchy and ashy.
Vick used the Medium brush and Brass Bristle Brush to reset the nap of the suede, and then finished it off with some Mink Oil to bring back that deep, maroon hue. Now our suede is buttery soft and vibrant once again.
Wasn’t that easy? It’s crazy what a difference a little effort and time can make in the life of a shoe. The Bordeaux Jordan 12 that we saw at the beginning of the video is a night-and-day difference from what it looks like now.
As I said, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Take this as a lesson…next time you’re thinking about getting rid of that beater pair, grab the RESHOEVN8R Essential kit and get them looking right!

Mink oil basically like adding water to dried paint it’s not technically adding more colour just diluting it and spreading it. Guess we’ve all experienced this after spilling juice on Moms carpet😂

I just bought a pair of Pure Money 13s off of ebay for 35. Right shoe just needs some cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. Left shoe was colored with 3 different types and colors of paint and black permanent marker. Was hard to get the marker out of the Suede without messing it up. The suede will never be the same, but I'll make it look as good as possible. Just need to find a Suede Dye that closely matches the original color.
One of the best jordan 12 colorways. Honestly I regret giving my pair away. It's such a good shoe.

I’ve learnt heaps from these videos so I appreciate Vick and the team greatly, I got a question though. Does mink oil work just as well to bring back colours on lighter suede like a turbo green or will it darken the colour? Any help would be appreciated.

hey guys, couple of additional tips. for very poor, faded or stiff suede a cuticle pusher is a great tool. it can even make some of the cheaper suede nike uses appear higher quality. also, while mink oil is great, it doesnt replace color that was lost. suede dye is nearly impossible to color match so that is also a poor option. what can work is highly diluted rit dye. create a clolor that is close then add multiple, up to a dozen or more, light coats. if done carefully, the dye will not change the tone or hue but will restore some of the lost color from the cleaning process or from aging. it also doesn't stiffen the suede either. get as close as you can with the rit dye then finish with mink oil to lock it in. good luck!

I would suggest using our cleaning solution and brushes as it is safe on suede, you don't' want to try goo gone or anything as that could ruin it.

@@RESHOEVN8R okay Lol, I was just curious because I have a pair of Point Lane infrareds where the main black suede part of the shoe is getting a tiny bit faded, looking for something to safely and nicely give them that new look, and the clear blue spot on the side is darkening a little, never hooped in them, just been wearing them casually for the last year, is there any specific product of yours and brush you recommend?…also do you think they would need to be washed in the washing machine with a bag?…they’re very clean shoes, just those few issues I described…I also have a pair of Lebron 17 Low Titans that need a nice cleaning, the fabric part of the shoe isn’t as red as it used to be, the soles and the bubble are still bright red, just need to freshen up the fabric of the shoe, assuming washing machine and bag on those?

@@RESHOEVN8R so how do you use brass bristle brush i just got a pair of jordan 12 retro reverse flu games and a suede cleaning kit
For the Brass Brush you would use this to reset the nap after the shoe is clean and dry. Rub it back in forth in multiple directions, but don't apply too much pressure it can cause damage. ONLY use this on suede.
