Sonicare Prestige vs. Diamond Clean

I tried both of these for more than a month each and gave it a really good test. Each of them brushes almost identically but the features are very different. The Prestige has several advantages over the DiamondClean:
1. Brushes better with the A3 brush head but you can very well buy the same brush head and put it on the DiamondClean.
2. The travel case is MUCH smaller making it travel friendly.
3. The toothbrush handle itself is slightly shorter and more compact while providing the same or better brushing strength.
4. The prestige has a touch button that makes it harder for toothpaste liquids to fall into the button crevices.
Those are the main difference. Both of them uses the app which frankly is more of a novelty and you wont be using it for long after you get used to the brushing style or if you want to brush your own way.
The DiamondClean's glass cup is a bit silly when a short plastic holder would do. I never actually liked the glass cup but that's my own preference.
If anything, I think the deal maker for me is the compact travel case. Because of this single feature, if I ever lose the toothbrush, or if it breaks after many years, I would definitely buy this again. (I wouldn't buy it again though if it breaks too quickly, will update if and when it breaks in the comments section years later hopefully.)

Do the standalone chargers work with each other?
I have been using Sonicare for a long time now. I use them until the battery dies and I buy a new one. I had the Diamond Clean last time and I liked the glass cup thing. I currently have a "regular" model, I think it's called Flexcare.
Sonicare does a great job cleaning teeth with the sonic vibrations rather than a rotation like in OralB brushes. Flexcare seems most similar to the 7500/7900 series. It must be the model they had before this line.
What will happen, if you put the tongue cleaner to Prestige?
I want to have SenseIQ (came with the Prestige) but want to my tongue cleaned as well. But in the prestige there isn't tongue mode directly. I heard that brush sync will select the closest mode to it.
On the video I can see the app guides you on inner and outer areas. And what will happen with the chewing sides? No need to brush them directly?
It will sense you have a tongue cleaner and use a Tongue Care mode at low intensity.
I interpret the inner and outer areas as split in the middle of the chewing 'top' side. It's not ideal and they really should differentiate that area.
I now have a diamondclean 9000 special edition blue (USD150) and a 9900 prestige(USD190) midnight blue. Received the 9000 a week ago. And the 9900 just today. Bought both of them with very good coupons/deals. I ordered both, to test out them and decide which to keep or send back within 30 days. What I expected, that the Prestige metal pin was loose out-of-the box! What a cheap quality.
They have exact same production date (august of 2023).
And 9000 has no problem, 9900 has loose pin/shaft.
I wonder why can't Philips can fix this production issue.
They manufacture Prestige since 2021. Today is almost 2024.
I would like to open the brush and fix it for myself, but then I loose the 2 years warranty.@@BeatTheBushDIY
is the prestige travel case compatible with other sonicare brushes? i have the diamond clean and was wondering if I could get my hands on the prestige case since I travel a lot and the included case is too bulky for me.
No. Prestige is much smaller and these cases are all custom for their brushes. Diamond handles are bigger.
if my country prices not even close, so no brainer diamond clean . I have one myself , just considering one for my son who has a oral b as well
