This is what you're going to get until thay phase out the PS4 and you have to remember that the PS5 is still fairly new. They are without a doubt working on a totally revamped game utilizing the PS5's capabilities but they're not going to release 2 seperate versions (PS4 & PS5).

People might say that this game has stagnated recently, and they might be right, but at least it’s stagnated in a good place as far as gameplay is concerned. It’s still the best playing sports game out there and it has been for years. I’d like to see some more depth added (online franchise?) but I wouldn’t want them to start messing with the gameplay just for the sake of it
Gameplay isn't that good though how many perfect/perfect hits are still easy outs right to an outfielder? "line drive caught!" throws from the outfield still feel choppy and slow. Pitching animations still don't look right. Pitches like change ups, curveballs, 2 seam fastballs are all still useless in the game when these are very effective pitches in real life.
No they were too busy doing negro leagues pt 2 which no one asked for but it makes them look good in the marketing dept because hey you know they started baseball and nobody would know about it if it wasn’t for the negro leagues 😂please they are just trying to bring in a new demographic to make money

In MLB The Show the player model and the uniform are not separate from one each other and doesn't have cloth simulation.

Why not try to make the game as in depth as 2k? You get tattoos , can have pregame on court warmups and can walk around the tunnels of the stadium pregame… all that matters. Maybe add in some on field BP before you play a game or can walk around the dugout/locker room
I really wish The Show would add a ball speed slider to increase velocity on pitches and batted balls. The ball moves so unnaturally slow in these games. I wish it was a little more realistic.
It’s a great game. Smooth as all get out comparable to other sports games (outside of FIFA). Just give us the roster updates, create more life-like experience and graphics in re: to Franchise mode, interviews, etc., etc. It’s essentially a yearly roster update, but I’m not complaining as I think the game is excellently done, does baseball Justice. For the love of god 2k.. please fix player progression/regression. Also could it be that hard to fix the trade logic and customization of depth charts, or play time for certain players. No reason for your best relief pitcher on the team to only play 20 innings in a season because the sim is so dumb. There should be a setting to set the average innings you want for bench players/ relief pitchers to play in a season and a depth chart setting where if a certain player is having a day off then whoever you set for 2nd on the depth chart will play. It’s really simple stuff and it just makes no sense why these things haven’t been added. We’ve been waiting for this kind of stuff for years and years. Especially us gamers who like to get really invested into a franchise it just gets so old after awhile with the same damn unrealistic things that happen within RTS and franchise.
