That was the most dumb downed simplified way to explain hitting tips. Exactly how it should be. Perfect explanations and not over complicating it like a lot of people do. Cool to see you use the tips you're giving too.
This is definitely one of the most instructive hitting videos I’ve seen. I’ll take this to my game hope to improve. I’ve done the practice mode before but I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone explain the thoughts behind each pitch of an at bat. Thank you for making this Adam!
when I was heavily invested in Madden, Throne's "Inside the Mind" was my favorite madden series to watch and this is the exact same concept. Please make this a regular thing
You identifying your pitch recognition is so cool to see. From watching you, Ochev, Kyle, your guys consistency with PCI placement is what puts you way ahead of the rest IMO
Loved seeing actual gameplay and not just clips from practice like all other hitting tips videos. Seeing your approach against a real opponent helps so much. I can crush the ball in practice on Legend but when I get into an actual game I sometimes fall apart. This helps a ton!!!
I just bought The Show for the very first time, a complete newbie. This just blows me away right now, I’m still trying to get a good eye on the pitches and your video has given me a a few ideas to begin working on. Great video.
Just got it today on the switch after playin those free android Samsung baseball on my phone .they got me back into play baseball games 9 or 13 years later.
Man I have been STRUGGLING with this ever since I started playing. Given I only started a couple months ago but as a baseball lover who loves to game, it’s been very stressful and almost embarrassing with how horrible I am at batting in this game… but after seeing your video I tweaked my settings and tinkered in practice for probably a solid 12 hours and now you’d never guess I used to be horrible at this game (or atleast a little less sucky lol) thank you! I can’t tell you how much your video is appreciated. You have my follow and subscribe sir!
I gotta say, the tips are good, but the energy is AMAZING. "Oh well, that was a bad at bat, it happens" was great to hear. I'm new here, and I'm gonna keep coming back.
Thank you for the video. Ive been a PC player for a few years now but I recently got a Switch and im glad MLB the show is just as fun as I remembered. My hitting is atrocious tho lol. I would love to see more in depth guides on how things work.
I tried playing MLB the show two times in the past three years, (I skipped last years game) but I always felt the hitting and timing was so hard and frustrating that I honestly just gave up and went back to playing hockey 😂! This video has given me hope! I am determined to give an honest effort and spend at least ten minutes a day in the practice area to get used to tracking pitches with the pci and also work on my swing timing! Great video! You earned my like and subscribe!
@@AdamSamuels I already watched your recent video about Kontrol Freak.. which led me to this video, and I also ordered my own Kontrol Freak on Amazon 😂! I will definitely watch your other video(s)! Thanks and keep up the great content!
The most important tip....stop playing on a big screen TV. Invest in a gaming monitor. Refresh rate it more important than you can imagine. Spend the $100 and get a gaming monitor and you will be able to see the ball 100 times better. Switched from a TV to a monitor last year and I went from allstar to world series ranks and went from a .250 batting average to over a .400 batting average.
Exactly what I mean by intangibles. One guy on a monitor one is not. One got this somebody else got that. 3 different platforms. Xbox ps4 ps5. Never an even playing field It’s the twilight zone Only resembles baseball in the fact that there is a bat and ball involved. It’s a card vending commercial
Ok so idk about yall but this changed my life on mlb lol…. So what’s crazy is I never watched the ball I would watch the strike zone and make a judgment call last minute. Now I watch the ball all the way from the pitchers hand to the zone I have way better pci placement and more time to read and react
I feel like I see the ball so much better when I just only look at the pitcher, and then I use a control freak on my pci, I also just practice moving my pci into uncomfortable spots in the zone to get the reflex down
How come even though I move the pci and swing it still says middle? It’s like I’m pressing swing too early but most times my swing timing says late. Very confused.
Ever since 2012 I’ve set the guess pitch to pci and it shows me where the pitch lands and allows me to move the pci. Now my pci gets locked. How can I change that?
The number one thing I'm struggling with is my timing. I'm swinging at off speed pitches very early almost everytime and I'm swinging at fast balls either very early or late. Any tips to help me improve this? Thanks!
I appreciate your effort in trying to make hitting more approachable. You are doing a very good job in explaining things...and then talking us through a game, is quite helpful. I try a new set of tips every year, and i have never had someone suggest taking pitches and just practicing PCI movement...that seems obvious, but never ive had anyone suggest it. Thanks! I enjoyed your video presentation style, and will definitely be watching more of your content. Last thing -- are you underwhelmed by this years version of "The Show"? Im quite disappointed with it. Between the hideous art design, ZERO attention being paid to big problems in franchise, & road to the show, and ZERO attention being paid to hitting (contact hitters are STILL worthless, which is unacceptable) - It seems like they just put out last years game, again, with uglier everything. Diamond Dynasty even has uglier cards. Everything is just so stale and its only been a couple days. I usually play all year round, but i dont know....i cant see even making through the whole baseball season. Just wondered what a content creator thought. Anyway -- Thanks again - Cheers!
So i can actually answer the whole, "where are you looking question" least when it came to me. I found myself looking toqards the leg of my batter. Mainly because thats what i used to help me time up pitches to the inside. I struggled with inside pitches the most back in 23, so i looked up some tips on how to hit them. The advice the video gave was watch the leg, they tend to do the leg kick thing at around the time you should swing inside. Feel like that probably is why i then started doing better with low pitches and struggled with higher ones. I found myself looking down more than towards the hand.
@@AdamSamuels Thanks for the answer!! Great video by the way..been practicing this in the show 23 getting ready for the 24 tomorrow and has helped tons!!!
