- 🇮🇳 When I think of India, I think of delicious curries, naan, roti, etc. I certainly don't think of fried chicken. But today on my adventure to find the best food around Jama Masjid, that's what the boss said was the best food on the menu. So of course I to try it. I didn't expect it to be the best fried chicken I'd ever eaten though. Damn it was good. Definitely check this place out if you're in Delhi.

What an amazing bunch of cooks that all love food. What an amazing interaction, the food must be IN-CREDIBLE. It just felt so natural, I love it when the people acknowledge the camera and try to be jolly instead of thinking negatively about "why are you filming me? what are you filming?". Why do so many Indian people talk so fast? I think it must be at least 50%. I speak Urdu and even I struggled to understand what the chicken guy was saying (the molvi looking guy). The other guy in the shirt talked at a normal speed.
I had the pleasure of working with a really smart developer from TCS, the guy was a genius, but he talked like he on fast forward. He used to have to slow down when explaining things.
because he was excited to see a foreigner making a video about his restaurant and praising his food. He knew that his video and praise for his food would generate more reach for his restaurant
Yes, Delhi Hindi/Urdu is hard, rough and fast not easy for a foriegner or non-Delhite sometimes.
Interesting, I’m glad it’s not just me. I had a really hard time understanding people in India, but here in Pakistan now I can understand the majority of everything I hear. I always thought Hindi and Urdu were mostly the same language but it’s actually quite difficult to transition between the two if you’re not a native speaker. A lot of words I used, people in india also didn’t understand (like “Salan”, “meyaar”, etc). Definitely learned a lot more about the language while in india
@@chrismixlewis Yes Chris, don't worry we are not able to understand some of the people too. It's because they are speaking too fast with a heavy accent
@@chrismixlewis No, Chris even native speakers can have problems picking certain accents. Commonly spoken Hindi and Urdu are very similar with a few variations in vocabulary. For معیار, if you mean Standard, Criteria or Level the Hindi word is स्तर. For سالن, I'd say मांस/गोश्त (meat) रसा/तरी (gravy) के साथ (with). Hindi and Urdu are essentially similar, dont let these subtle differences overwhelm you. All the best and love. ❤
That's not naan 🫓 That's called khameeri roti , Fried chicken 🍗 of old Delhi is definitely commendable ❣️ We usually don't eat roti with fried chicken but ofcourse anyone has a free will to try anything. Best Luck To You , Safe Travels 🙏

Not every "mughali" cook will understand when you will say "Salan", its a very specialized term only trained chefs know , if you are looking for curry then ask for curry or gravy. Also eating indian fried chicken with roti is a faux pas and it would ruin your whole experience, I am wondering how were you able to chew it up and gulp it down, it's almost like eating roti with tandoori chicken, imagine eating a burger with no spread or mayo or cheese , only buns and the pattie.
