  • 🇮🇳 When I think of India, I think of delicious curries, naan, roti, etc. I certainly don't think of fried chicken. But today on my adventure to find the best food around Jama Masjid, that's what the boss said was the best food on the menu. So of course I to try it. I didn't expect it to be the best fried chicken I'd ever eaten though. Damn it was good. Definitely check this place out if you're in Delhi.

    Why do so many Indian people talk so fast? I think it must be at least 50%. I speak Urdu and even I struggled to understand what the chicken guy was saying (the molvi looking guy). The other guy in the shirt talked at a normal speed.
    I had the pleasure of working with a really smart developer from TCS, the guy was a genius, but he talked like he on fast forward. He used to have to slow down when explaining things.

      Interesting, I’m glad it’s not just me. I had a really hard time understanding people in India, but here in Pakistan now I can understand the majority of everything I hear. I always thought Hindi and Urdu were mostly the same language but it’s actually quite difficult to transition between the two if you’re not a native speaker. A lot of words I used, people in india also didn’t understand (like “Salan”, “meyaar”, etc). Definitely learned a lot more about the language while in india

    • @delgado_lucid
      @delgado_lucid 2 года назад

      @@chrismixlewis No, Chris even native speakers can have problems picking certain accents. Commonly spoken Hindi and Urdu are very similar with a few variations in vocabulary. For معیار, if you mean Standard, Criteria or Level the Hindi word is स्तर. For سالن, I'd say मांस/गोश्त (meat) रसा/तरी (gravy) के साथ (with). Hindi and Urdu are essentially similar, dont let these subtle differences overwhelm you. All the best and love. ❤

    Not every "mughali" cook will understand when you will say "Salan", its a very specialized term only trained chefs know , if you are looking for curry then ask for curry or gravy. Also eating indian fried chicken with roti is a faux pas and it would ruin your whole experience, I am wondering how were you able to chew it up and gulp it down, it's almost like eating roti with tandoori chicken, imagine eating a burger with no spread or mayo or cheese , only buns and the pattie.
