You have both worked so hard to get Gypsy Moon ready to sail. I can’t wait to watch you leave the dock! Of course I am excited to see you using Precision Sails 🇨🇦 Stay safe and healthy.
Hey Taylor and Kiki, great to see you guys back at it and getting ready for a new sailing season 👍😎🙂 Hope you are able to make good progress and get Gypsy Moon back out on the High Seas... Take care, be safe and look forward to a new season of Taylors Travels ❤
Glad to see you guys are back with another season! All of the upgrades will definitely be quality of life improvements, that will make leaving the boat even harder in the future.
Ahh Taylor so glad you are back in the water.i love all of your content but I love the boat the best.congratulations.your sail is absolutely beautiful❤.keep the videos coming be safe and fair winds to you guys.til next time👍🙏❤😎
Hi Taylor, Kiki! Thank you for another great video, i agree with you about writing everything down on paper,.You guys look great, let the next adventure begin!!
Taylor I can’t help myself but to root for both you and Bobby sailing around the world!! wishing you good luck hoping your new partner treats you good and makes you happy on your travels.
Another problem with the 381 is in dough seas when you bury the bow in a wave the vberth got wet. I finally put spray foam inside anchor locker under lip and filled where locker wall and deck came together. After that I coated it with flex seal.
I had the same problem with my rudder packing gland on my 381. I ended up drilling into the side of lock nut and tapped it for a lock bolt. The rudder bracket I took out and had it beefed up and thu bolted it to fiberglass deck. The factory bolts always kept coming loose.
I actually kind of dig the black mismatched rudder for some reason. You guys did some nice work on that. Well done. Also, your shorter hair looks cute, Taylor. Congrats on getting her back in the water and I hope you have some great adventures this season!
Great to see you again, yes it will be good to see a new Bimini rigged up least then you won’t get wet when the heavens open, it will be nice to see more of your adventures when you get back to sea, safe harbour wherever it may be 🇬🇧 19:13
Gypsy Moon looks beautiful, great job!! Looking forward to another season of fun... Was thinking, man Ryan and Kiki don't stand a chance, 2 beautiful Canadian women teaming up....
Next time you might want to consider a micro dehumidifier. Plug it into a a solar cell for power. Drill a hole in the water reservoir and glue a tube in the hole. Then drain the tube through a through hull or into the cockpit. Continuous dehumidification
Good to see you back on you tube Taylor. Rudder sail clean boat now looking good. Ready for the splash little leak I am sure nothing that can't be quickly fixed. Looking forward to your travels. Oh sorry and Kiki you are included also ;))
I was sitting here watching this video and when I saw that you were going to mix Gelcoat and MEKP in a styrofoam cup, my first thought was ooops. They're going to learn something today.
From experience my first thought was, “That’s not gonna work!” When your desperate and need to make fiberglass repairs in the field you’ll try anything, once!
A good spade rudder design usually has the top of the tube above the water line so packing is not wet when boat is still ( also allows rudder removal in the water !). But since modifying might be a big job do you have enough layers of packing , usually 3 minimum ? , joints in packing seperate like brickwork, tight won’t damage anything as shaft only moves a little , just might effect steering effort. Just ideas … Cheers Warren
Aloha Taylor! Wow back on the water already? It didnt seem like you guys were away from the boat that long. Looking forward to more sailing to far off places =) Safe travels.
You really know how to bail out of a boat at the end of the season. What a mess! LMAO. Painting the rudder is important so that the fish can appreciate that perfectly matched paint. Taylor, blue is blue especially underneath the boat. My wife doesn't like gas meter blue on pipes outside the house. I don't understand.
Great upgrades to the boat! And many of our youtube sailing friends have had rudder issues (Gary and Brooke of One Life and Bill and Grace of Calico Skies - Taylor knows them) but you all worked hard to get them fixed! Hope you can now make more content - we know it's a lot of work.
So Taylor you guys caught my attention when water was leaking around the rudder shaft, are you using canvas style V packings or one seal made out of rubber?I used to build hydraulic cylinders and sometimes it would be better using v packings cut and fit for each differant application (they were placed one on top of each other then squished down with a compression nut) I'm out of Canada also and have followed you since Sailing Doodles ,keep doing what you are doing and I will be watching from the great white north......
I thought two where engaged (rings) ? Nice team work , good vibes from both of you. I’m glad to see you two are back. Hope to see a video from you weekly ! Safe travels
Everyday lately I've been saying a quote very similar to the one on that beautiful new meech short.. My quote is "Life is an Advebture so.....Live it !!" Feel free to use if you want at a later date aa an alternative... or "It's a Glorious Day to Be...(fill in blank if desired) Alive or in your case .. Sailing !!!!😊
Just a small tip, for not painting the rudder black. In oceans, where the water is dirty you still need to see the rudder. At night also, also if you hit a reef. Also, killer whale pods, have been attacking sailing yachts later. They go after the rudder. A black rudder could look like, a sea lion, or seal.aka chomp chomp, hit number two. A cheap cheap , way to help kill mildew smells off is buy the cheapest smaller cat litter bags,.. punch holes in them, with a screw driver, put them in storage areas, closets, the cat litter soaks up the mildew, and the smell. In a month or 2 , toss, the litter bags out. Bug tip, bugs hate cider lined closets right, well get those small, cider blocks you hang in the closets, and buy a bag or cider balls, and put some in the drawers where your close are stored. For mattress, buy, dryer sheets, and put them under, the mattress. In the pockets of your coats ect. They will keep the cabin smelling fresh.
Long time viewer, first time commenter 😂 glad you are back on the ocean in your natural environment 🌊 when you're next in the South Pacific, come drop anchor ⚓ at Taveuni, the Garden Island 🏝 P.s. by coincidence, we adopted a dog from the shelter named Kiki 🤣 true story!
Diggin the new sails, I was thinking with the trip out west we might see a "Taylor's Travels Western Lodge - gateway to western Canada" in the mix, but loving the Caribbean Odyssey just as much ;-) I'm off to the merch page for that cool new T shirt! Hmm, for some reason it won't let me buy a T-shirt, FYI you might be losing some customers...
It's good to see you back on water, thought you folks got lost in the North West Bush somewhere. Kiki get a proper wrench for that shaft nut, maybe a little Plumer's Putty eh?? Check and test ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
Ah good to see one of your videos come up in my recommendation. It's been quite a while. Am I misremembering that you were trying to sell this boat...this is the one you picked up in NY right?
Taylor great to see you out back on your boat but I’m doing something tonight that you probably never be able to do on the high seas. I just ordered Domino’s 30 minutes and I’ll be eating Pizza.
The cord is a bad idea, ask the sailing community this has been done in the past and it doesn't work the way intended. If you choose to stay with it I suggest buying plastic crockery.
Probably not so useful now but for future issues a spray of 3% diluted Hydrogen peroxide is great for attempts at eliminating mould. (97% water /3% HP)

So glad to see you back! Gonna have to get used to that hair color!
its. great to see you guys are getting ready to sail again . thanks for posting
Nice to see “you” back on the boat again! Looks like everything is coming along, can’t wait until we see y’all out at sea.
Hey Taylor and Kiki, great to see you guys back at it and getting ready for a new sailing season 👍😎🙂 Hope you are able to make good progress and get Gypsy Moon back out on the High Seas... Take care, be safe and look forward to a new season of Taylors Travels ❤
The Gypsy looks really good and your new sails are amazing. Have fun when you’re back afloat! Cheers!

Great video. Nice to see you back. Looking forward to your adventures. Nice to see a Canadian flag😃
Hi Taylor, Kiki! Thank you for another great video, i agree with you about writing everything down on paper,.You guys look great, let the next adventure begin!!
Painting the rudder black was genius Taylor. The orcas can't attack what they can't see. Good work.
I would start dropping seal bombs on those suckers, they don't like them but it doesn't hurt them.
Taylor I can’t help myself but to root for both you and Bobby sailing around the world!! wishing you good luck hoping your new partner treats you good and makes you happy on your travels.

Great to see y'all back at it! Looking like Gypsy Moon 🌙 will be alright! Blessings and much love always sweet Taylor!!! 🙏❤
I had the same problem with my rudder packing gland on my 381. I ended up drilling into the side of lock nut and tapped it for a lock bolt. The rudder bracket I took out and had it beefed up and thu bolted it to fiberglass deck. The factory bolts always kept coming loose.
It's always wonderful to see you sailing, Taylor!! Greetings from New Jersey (USA). 🙂 😊 👋
“There she be” Total Canadian😂😂😂 Great job
Whoa!! Haircut!
Looks awesome!!!❤
Writing notes on paper is always good. Having a tent over the boat is good too if it is possible. like this video
I’ve missed you. Glad to see you both back!
Good to see you sailing again, even with that leaky rudder!
I actually kind of dig the black mismatched rudder for some reason. You guys did some nice work on that. Well done.

Writing things down is definitely a great idea Taylor. Even better is a NOBO board. You can also write notes, Tel numbers etc.
Love to see you back on the boat. You are a true inspiration Taylor. ❤️ Best of luck and am super eager for future videos!
Hello from Nova Scotia. Great to see you back on the boat, and look forward to your next Travels!
Great episode, thanks for sharing. Beautiful sailboat ⛵️ sailing Channel superb education to discover and sail around the world ⛵️ 🌎
Looking forward to future travels!
I was sitting here watching this video and when I saw that you were going to mix Gelcoat and MEKP in a styrofoam cup, my first thought was ooops. They're going to learn something today.
Yep, my thought as well. Oooops!
Great dry humor! Thank you.
From experience my first thought was, “That’s not gonna work!” When your desperate and need to make fiberglass repairs in the field you’ll try anything, once!
Is the product quality/ application the problem or the cup used to mix the compounds?
@@jungbolosse3034 Styene monomer will disolve the cup
Glad you're back in the water. Taylor! Safe travels ❤️
Great to see you guys back, boat is looking great !!!!

Good teamwork; I especially like Kiki's positive vibe.

Taylor, nice to see you 😊😊😊😊😊
Im glad you guys are back. Its almost time to rock n roll. Peace
Going to put it in just in time for Hurricane season.

As soon as you poured the resin into that foam cup I knew what was coming next🤣
great to see you guys back
I knew that foam cup was going to burn out after it kicked off..."chemical reactions get hot and melt"...
Sika is a great product but for sealing this hatch you must use acid free silicone kit.
Welcome back. Bet you can not wait to sail with out the old cockpit cover flapping in the breeze.
how many layers of packing did you put in the rudder...looks like not enough for any adjustment..usually 2 or 3
Great video

More packing for leaks :)
Looking good!
I thought Gypsy Moon was for sale. Change of plans?
Ah good to see one of your videos come up in my recommendation. It's been quite a while. Am I misremembering that you were trying to sell this boat...this is the one you picked up in NY right?
Both wires to both speakers must be same length, don’t shorten one because it is located closer to the output.
If the ground is hard for digging purposes give it a good soaking before digging, should make it much easier.
Try using bowls of salt as well as damp traps
Taylor great to see you out back on your boat but I’m doing something tonight that you probably never be able to do on the high seas. I just ordered Domino’s 30 minutes and I’ll be eating Pizza.
Let’s go baby⛵️🤙
Kiki getting comfy on cam. Cool dude.
Nice sails, woo-hoo!
Does your new main have reef points in it?
I thought you announced you were selling her?
Sail's look good. What happened to the Steering wheel in the middle of the sail?
I'm perpetually confused why dehumidifiers that drain overboard aren't used on stored boats if you know you are going to be back in a month or few.
I haven't been back since October 1983, Grenada
You put epoxy in styrofoam ?...
I'm glad that your knee didn't get eaten up by that gelcoat! #unexpectedchemicalreactions
MEK dissolves styrofoam!
So, you ended on a leak ???? Did it tighten up or what?? 😵😄😚
Love your look
The cord is a bad idea, ask the sailing community this has been done in the past and it doesn't work the way intended. If you choose to stay with it I suggest buying plastic crockery.
Why using SikaFlex and not Tec7 … if it’s available in your place?

@4:37 Paint a gigantic turd on it so the orcas don't try to bite it. ;)
Probably not so useful now but for future issues a spray of 3% diluted Hydrogen peroxide is great for attempts at eliminating mould. (97% water

Keep your eyes open for Orcas out there
