@Kevin Lawhorn jes thats indeed an interesting problem if you look in the end you see aparant lines wich divide the continents into their individual regions.
I like you splitting it up and having different styles, but maybe there should have been a bit more coordination on topography. The Andes and rockies are very prominent, while the mountain ranges of Africa, Asia and Europe don't really show up.
That would actually be really cool. There are not a lot of board games made up of interior spaces. They could build up low walls between the rooms, and go all out with carpeting/flooring, wall paper, and maybe even furniture and knick-knacks, etc.
love this project and am a huge fan of risk. Sometimes it's difficult to know if something will be too much or just right; I would have done the water effect across the entire ocean but it could have ended up looking messy like that so who knows. Awesome project anyway and inspiring to do a similar project!
What we found with some test sheets is blue colour for example didn't mesh well with the brown map vibe and also the logos became quite hard to read under the dappled ripples. We had a test piece we could just hold over areas prior to gluing the acrylic on. We found ripples all over made the compass, the drawings of ships and sea creatures etc really messy and chose this as a middle ground.
@TabletopTime makes sense and don't get me wrong I think it looks awesome as is. Tempting sometimes to go all in where often subtlety can give the best effect!
Jen: "You could say it was risky business" In that moment I paused the video, gave it a thumbs up, and scrolled down to write this comment. Bless you Jen. Bless you.
I agree with the idea of a battle going on below/near them... but also have some entities NOT fighting, but looking up in awe at the two foes clashing, specially if adding guardsmen, etc..
That was a suspiciously long pause there Alicia. I love the result. Sadly most of the games I know of the top of my head have very modular boards, but that's also true for Catan... will have to think on it
Awesome idea! I am curious about the playability with the 3d terrain. I was thinking about doing something similar with the map of Middle Earth from the board game War of the Rings. The regular board is almost too small to fit all the troops. Maybe you can give that a spin as well. Amazing job!
I am not done watching the video yet, but I can attest that I was very excited to see Jazza recommend cutting the continents out! It made the video more interesting for sure!
The big issue would be saying where your attacking, peices not being able to stand would be annoying, but you can completely just let them lie there for the most part, overall it looks really good, but for any form of functionality it would be terrible
A game I'd love to see a 3D version of would be Forbidden Island. I already find the peices so pretty just 2D, but I think they'd look even prettier 3D. My personal favourite peices are Lost Lagoon, Whispering Garden and Watchtower.
As an Englishman I noticed the United Kingdom is WAY bigger then it should be 🤣 In terms of what to do next. Monopoly would be a good one. Labyrinth another with the moving pieces. Cluedo but rather then using the board you 3D print out the rooms using OpenLock Tiles.
I have had an Idea for risk where the territories had individual resources and whoever had the most resources could have the bigger army built it depends on what resources are in that specific regions and you could trade so and establish a capital and outposts so think settlers of catan meets risk meets etc. ❤
Nice work. I wonder, if you backed it with a sheet of steel (or just cut the shapes of the continents out of one), could you then put a neodymium magnet in the base of the minis so that way, if you had to pause a game in the middle, you could hang it up and the minis would stay in place. 😉 Would be nice seeing you guys do this with a map for a sci-fi or fantasy game so you can add extra fantastical elements to the map to give it extra flare.
I’d love to see this… but in a map of the 1993-2003 editions, because of the kinda accurate continents shape instead of the cartoony ones Still sick as frick, loved the terrain details and would love to play a Risk game on this board, applying rules for the terrain and climate
how long did it take all up to make also where can you get those paints/ modiling things you guys used coz Im planing to do some think like this for a school project
Could do monopoly Australia - heaps of space in the centre to represent all the different properties, can have the Ghan running through connecting the rail stations etc :)
Video 48 asking for the Thunderbear cavalry and the Storm bear rider? Punny Name still needed. Also, these would use the Thunderwolf cavalry and Stormrider statblock.
Well now I just wanna see more of this. Also maybe an actual game on the board.
@Kevin Lawhorn jes thats indeed an interesting problem if you look in the end you see aparant lines wich divide the continents into their individual regions.
Oh yeah, those Floridian Mountains! 😉
Florida is evolving
Actually more like sinking.
Also don't forget about those Floridan pyramids as well
The alligators are kicking up the swamps to keep the rising oceans from salinating the everglades.
was gonna say, pretty much my only nitpick about the board. florida's flatter than planed wood lol
I like you splitting it up and having different styles, but maybe there should have been a bit more coordination on topography. The Andes and rockies are very prominent, while the mountain ranges of Africa, Asia and Europe don't really show up.
Its almost like they don't know the geography beyond Australia.
True, but they did capture the majestic mountain range in Florida quite well.
3D Terrain Board Game for Candy Land... You sort of did it before on the cake base, but now you should do it on an actual Candy Land board
I am really loving these 3D upgraded boards...amazing!
beautiful. I'm a huge risk game lover and fan. This picture would hang in my living room!
Glass Onion makes me want to see "Clue/Cluedo 3d"!
That would actually be really cool.
There are not a lot of board games made up of interior spaces. They could build up low walls between the rooms, and go all out with carpeting/flooring, wall paper, and maybe even furniture and knick-knacks, etc.
That really is astonishing. Dave, Jenn, Murray & team you all do a great job .. Definitely Artists
This is sure a huge risk, the mountain really raise the stakes ;)
I have doubts about those towering mountains of Florida :) Love the ideas here
Perhaps Jenn mistook the swamp icons for mountains :)
Wow the result is amazing! Love the concept of making it a painting handing on the wall!

Never been more pleased about NZ not being on a map.
Beautiful job gang, that is a stellar board.
Absolutely loving this series, I would suggest maybe Ticket to Ride? And because the various versions have multiple maps you could even take one each
Jen: "You could say it was risky business"

Love your videos so much! The teamwork, the humor, not taking it too seriously but incredible results ❤️
That is sweet, and it's one of my fave games to play, even as a kid.
I agree with the idea of a battle going on below/near them... but also have some entities NOT fighting, but looking up in awe at the two foes clashing, specially if adding guardsmen, etc..

I totally never received an alert for this video 😑
So glad I found it anyway. The outcome is gorgeous!

What a lovely Cosmograph!
I am not done watching the video yet, but I can attest that I was very excited to see Jazza recommend cutting the continents out! It made the video more interesting for sure!
This is so cool. It turned out great.
Beautiful, could you do an Axis and Allies gameboard
Oh man 🥰 that came out amazing 👏👏👏 I love risk. This takes it to another level
Gorgeous... but can you actually play on it? Wouldn't tokens not be able to stand on thte texture?
The big issue would be saying where your attacking, peices not being able to stand would be annoying, but you can completely just let them lie there for the most part, overall it looks really good, but for any form of functionality it would be terrible
I might be wrong, but it looks like it's in a glass case at the end? The glass could provide a flat surface to play on.
Another idea could be to submerge the board in a thin clear resin layer.
A game I'd love to see a 3D version of would be Forbidden Island. I already find the peices so pretty just 2D, but I think they'd look even prettier 3D. My personal favourite peices are Lost Lagoon, Whispering Garden and Watchtower.

Labyrinth another with the moving pieces.
Cluedo but rather then using the board you 3D print out the rooms using OpenLock Tiles.
I love the silly outros. More please. Great map. Raising the stakes was the right call. 😊😊😊
Loving what you're doing to these boardgames! PLEASE do scythe!! My #1 game of all time!
I have had an Idea for risk where the territories had individual resources and whoever had the most resources could have the bigger army built it depends on what resources are in that specific regions and you could trade so and establish a capital and outposts so think settlers of catan meets risk meets etc. ❤
"Spacing Marines" Really got me good
Reminds me alot of civilization 5 great work yall!
what happened to the troops and or solders? I would like to see those.
Some serious punning on this fun Friday video! 😂
Astonishing work guys!
such a cool project! would love to see some blue inks on the back of the glass to add some rich blues to the deepest oceans! :)
Absolutely George-us. I've always wanted to do something like this with some of our board games.
Nice work. I wonder, if you backed it with a sheet of steel (or just cut the shapes of the continents out of one), could you then put a neodymium magnet in the base of the minis so that way, if you had to pause a game in the middle, you could hang it up and the minis would stay in place. 😉

This looks awesome.
Jen, the Catan Classic Sheep Baroness. No surprise there. 😂
Very nice work. Love it.
When jazza showed up I almost had a heart attack cause I got recommended this video randomly and was not expecting that.
LOLZ 😂 where did Tassie go?
That's awesome.
Really well done!
Lol, snow covered Scandinavia in the middle of summer
I honestly can't get over (and love) that they didn't use the tumbnail they proposed in the video. Lol
This reminds me of the 3D map that Mel the Terrain Tutor did for a game a few years back, though a bit less focused there
I’d love to see this… but in a map of the 1993-2003 editions, because of the kinda accurate continents shape instead of the cartoony ones
Still sick as frick, loved the terrain details and would love to play a Risk game on this board, applying rules for the terrain and climate
9:39 , was this recorded with a head phone mic? The board looked great, fantastic video as ever
As a Floridian I can confirm that we definitely have Mt. Everest
how long did it take all up to make also where can you get those paints/ modiling things you guys used coz Im planing to do some think like this for a school project
This was very cool!
Could do monopoly Australia - heaps of space in the centre to represent all the different properties, can have the Ghan running through connecting the rail stations etc :)
Is there a way I could buy this board?
Turn this into a series. Clue, and Monopoly could also be fun.
Well. Thats really impressing. But. In the end. Its just a really beautiful 3D World Map that no one can play Risk on :D Please more of that!
Awesome job on this! I hope you do this again!
WOW!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!❤❤❤😁😁😁🙏🙏🙏
You could do Clue next?!?!?!
You had me at spacing marines 😂
Video 48 asking for the Thunderbear cavalry and the Storm bear rider? Punny Name still needed. Also, these would use the Thunderwolf cavalry and Stormrider statblock.
Murray, thank you for painting in Europes rivers. Breaks my heart that there’s no Amazon or Nile…
surely you would do a small Uluru in the center of the Aus one
Awesome job everyone! this came out really cool. For the next one I'd recommend the batman returns boardgame (the dual layered one)
That pause at the end. Ahahaha.
Cool wall hang
id love to see you do a 3D Werewolves of Millers Hollow or something
I want one! That is awesome!
Bro I knew this video is for me When in the 1st 5 seconds I saw risk and my 2 favorite games ever. Within the 1st Minute
Awesome!!!Big Like 🎈🎈🎈
WOAH!
Beautiful!11❤❤❤
Nice lemonade stand reference
As if the idea of reproducing what you did with your Catan board wasn't already so damn tempting. Love it.
3D Catan that can also be used for Battletech plz?
Thought of a much better suggestion then my earlier one: 7 Wonders
Do Terraforming Mars next ! Such an amazing game
It's very cool.
wow, this channel is so cool and popular
You could try cluedo with all the little rooms…?
1:01 The Berlin Conference - 1884. Colorized
You need to do a live vid of you all playing Risk now
Interesting upgrade, but how about to play the game?
3D Chutes and Ladders next 😉
Looks Cool . How about doing Axis and Allies.?
Surprised you didn't use Risk 40k for this project.
...although now that you've proved the concept, maybe there's room for a far-future sequel...?
I thought it was gonna almost fail then I realised the title was a pun
I predicted it lol
I want to see zombicide made 3D that would be epic
and now ticket to ride with working trains and tunnels xD
What about legends of andor? It's a great adventure/story game and it also hast two boards. Or nemesis, building a spaceship could looks awsome
I'm very sure that the Amazon rainforest doesn't have mountains?
Funny how this game confirms that New Zealand don’t exist
As a New Zealander, can confirm, it's just a myth
Why not just 3D print a new RISK Board, and upscale it?
Oh nice! ❤Btw, will you guys ever paint that ork guy behind?
You shouldve put magnets under the continents so the figurines might stick on the map whilst it's on the wall
Shout out to my fellow Aussie it really is a burnt desert I’ve been out there it’s hot there trust me I nearly died from heat
