Sorry just saw this. Lighter rifles can be supported quite easily by the Pro GT. Once you get into the really heavy precision guns, consider stepping up to an even larger tripod like something from Manfrotto, Really Right Stuff, etc. They will be more expensive, but that's what you'll need for a really robust tripod for precision shooting use with a big gun. - Jimmy H jchamilton@vortexoptics.com
It will fit any optic and any accessory that accepts a 1/4-20 thread, which seems to be just about everything out there. - Jimmy H jchamilton@vortexoptics.com
Bought the GT today, works VERY well with the Viper HB big momma, not disappointed.
I just bought a Tack life MLT01 tripod at 1.7lbs. Perfect setup for a backpack mountain hunt with the Roxant blackbird HD spotting scope atop.
Made my decision much easier! Thanks!
can you get a "pan head" for the high country tripod?
"Depending on who asks, I'm 6 ft-" Chicks. Hes referring to Chicks
Lol
Can any of them handle a rifle?

Can I add a DSLR here?
Is it proprietary mounting system or is it universal fitting other brand optics?
