After seeing this video, I just ran the two wires connecting to the air switch to a wall switch to close the circuit. No air switch needed, and I'll never deal with a stuck air button again. simple.
Same here! Bought the jacuzzi tub for $2 at an auction and never thought to just hard wire it. Now I have a working Jacuzzi tub for the price of $2 and 1 wire nut 😅
Jet bathtub been out of commission for 7 years . Finally found your video and fixed it . I cant believe it was such simple fix by just replacing the air switch . Thank you so much for this video.
Excited to do the same. I thought it was the motor....not sure ...but this is worth a shot, due to the very well-done video. Thank you. Wish there was a way to see if it IS the motor...guess I'll fix the air switch and see! Thank you!
This is the best how to video ever ! Got my switch out without having to remove the pump. Luckily it was super easy access. Gonna buy one of those switches now.
Thanks for the easy-to-follow video. Got a Tecmark TBS 300 Series Air Switch from Amazon (sorry) for $19 and saved myself $$$ by installing it myself. Great job.
I had several jets to quit working and thought I would have to call my plumber. When I saw your video I turned them to the left and pulled out on them and they started working! I can love you!
AJ, I cannot thank you enough for this video and your troubleshooting video! I was able to replace my faulty air switch in less than 15 minutes. I would bring you a batch of cookies if you were local.
@@iPoolandSpaPartsnet hi ! Have a question , it is important the position of terminals or it is the same ? Excuse me My inglish , i'm from ARG . Great vídeo ! Thanks !
AWESOME VIDEO!!! SUPER HELPFUL!!! Bought the switch, bellows, face cover. But no tubing in the box...??? Website and video said it came with the switch for free. Guess not. I think the box packer needs a talking to.

Great video thank you! My pump wouldn't turn off so I unplugged it. I thought it was the bellows but I replaced that and still won't turn off. I guess it's now time to replace the air switch
I think I have the same issue. Sometimes I have to push the button three or four times to make it turn off. It turns on easy enough but it doesn't turn back off but today it works fine. I'm still going to replace the air switch though because it's starting to fail. This is a great video great. I'm so glad you made it for us. It makes this repair much easier
While easy to do if you can get access, it’s the same price to buy a remote air switch assembly for a garbage disposal or something similar. Mine is buried and removing the pump would be really difficult.
I seem to have the same exact pump in my jacuzzi, we just started renting the home about two months ago and just started trying to use the jacuzzi. It was unplugged by the homeowners either because they didn’t really use it or because of the issue we discovered. Anyways the pump works great, great pressure and all the jets work however it only runs when the on/off is HELD down. I’m assuming it’s because of air switch being faulty but I’d like your input if possible
My indoor jet tub doesn't turn on at all No noise I have voltage coming off the breaker What could be the possible problem I was thinking motor They didn't leave access in the front bottom So I'm gearing up for some demo and need some inspiration 😁 Even if you don't reply happy New year I'll be happy to buy the part off you as well
Can you switch the bonding lug from the inside side of the motor to the outside side? It look like there's a hole on the other side as well. I don't understand why the manufacturer would put the motor on the side facing the tub, making it impossible to access. Thanks.
Which prong does the hot wire hook up to (coming from the plugged in cord)? Is it the copper colored or the silver colored prong? Does it make a difference which one the hot wire is connected to? Please answer!
Robyn; it doesn't matter which prong the hot goes to. All you are doing with a switch is interrupting the flow of current to the motor. Sorry for the confusion.
Question for you. I am a DIY homeowner and am trying to fix my tub on my own. It seems like the button doesn't press anything when I push it in. Then at times, it activates the pump but will only stay on for 5 seconds while I hold the button down and then it turns off. Does this seem like the air switch? And if it does, does it sound like it's in addition to any other part, like the on/off button itself? Should I hear a click when I press the on/off button in?
I know this is a few months old but in case it is needed: Had the same issue and from what I have seen online it could be any of the parts he breaks down at the end of the video. Not an expert by any means but read that it is likely a hole or leak somewhere in the tubing or switch. If it is an issue with the button it is super easy to replace and pretty inexpensive. Amazon has them on different finishes for less than $20, some were closer to $8 if they didn't come with the air switch and tuning. You just pull the tubing out, and there is a plastic nut on the underside holding it tight to the tub. Just unscrew that, replace and screw the thin nut back on, and plug the tubing back in. Unfortunately mine was not the air button so trying this video next but the genius who installed it glued and then foam insulated everything together 🤦 Home Depot had the air button but was $50 to $100 plus!
Hi Can you use this as continuous circulation pump for small above ground swimming pool ? Is it powerfull enough to be feed into small dyi sand filter ?
Good morning i would like to ask u...my jacuzzi the pump was hum and we fix it...but now when is time to shoot the hair...giving trouble just give few shoots...push water out....what can b d cause???
I have the older style of whirlpool and it will not turn off. We use the breaker to turn it on and off. I'm thinking from watching you video that this air switch is what I need to replace?
Don, since you can't see air it might be the bellows too. I suggest you get both to be sure since they're wear items. Call me if you have any further questions. AJ
My bellows is inaccessible, installed on far side away from access panel. Unless I am missing something I will not be able to replace bellows. The tub insert into motor is right at the access panel. I wonder if I should make a small hole in access panel and install a new bellows there.
Just replaced my bellows, and it turns on the pump but the pump does not stay on. Just saw your video, does this seem like it is a problem with the air switch?
@@sarahleone3564 . I never got an answer. I have just been blocked the button down for now. I think the hose needs to be replaced but haven’t made time to replace that.
I have two problems. First, the pump will not turn off, so I am going to order a new air switch. Second, they never put an access in to do maintenance. How can I know where the pump is located? Are there schematics? Its a jacuzzi brand corner tub. I'm either going to need to cut out tile, or cut access into the side of my house to fix the issue. Thank you
I would assume this to be the problem as I have the same situation. I had to unplug the unit to get it to stop. I am guessing the switch or the line has failed. The only issue I have is I cannot access the pump easily (the cutout is on the side of the bathroom sink area. I may be cutting some stuff up...
the switchis fine it is the bellows assembly that does not work it does not have a good seal so that I have to blow into the silicon tube to turn it off.
An air switch is a major safety item for anything that involves water and electricity. There is no chance of grounding yourself to the water and the motor when you are in the tub.
James, at the bottom of the description area I have the link to click on to order the switch or pump. Which ever you may need. Just click on "SHOW MORE" and go to the bottom and you'll see it. Let me know if you need anything else. AJ

If you can’t get the screws out with a screwdriver you can use a 1/4” socket driver. It looks like a screwdriver but has a 1/4” socket on the end.

If the 2 screws on the housing won't come lose with a screwdriver, what is another alternative?
Try using a nut driver and put a large pair of channel locks on the handle for leverage. This method is easier with 2 people.
