    I started off with a Glowforge due to space. I loved it but after business picked up we realized we needed something more durable and faster . So we decided on a Thunder and I always say to myself, why didn’t I get you first. It is a powerhouse!

    I've had my thunder lasers for a few years now and they run everyday. The things I've had to replace so far: the ruida controller, power supply twice, a cooling fan, exhaust fan, lense and mirrors. The warranty covered some of that and the customer service is great. The ruida replacement was the most difficult going into the machine settings and manually re-learning the laser to do everything.

      I can imagine the ruida replacement would not be too fun! Thanks for sharing your experience as well! 🙂

      @@SimplySallie The ruida replacement was difficult but a good experience. Make sure you export the machine settings file from lightburn for each laser and keep them on a separate flash drive. If you do that, then you can skip the difficult configuration when you replace the ruida controller.

    Great video, and perfect timing! My wife and I are burned out with Xtool's behavior. We're researching Thunder and Aeon. You make a great case for Thunder, and that's been my gut. Thanks! BTW, it's great to see you back on RUclips!!

    Great video! I'm a beginner and I'd really like to get the Thunder Bolt (or Thunder Bolt Plus) vs other diode alternatives. As a beginner, I'd like to know if it can cut small wood projects such as small wood signs, wood keychains or wooden ornaments? Also, if you don't mind sharing, what do you use your Bolt for? Thanks!

    My husband runs a small laser business, he currently has a laser machine thats smaller (different brand) but he's looking to upgrade hopefully in the next couple of months. Thanks to your videos I have convinced him to go with the Thunder laser machine.

    Is there a mini sized version of this that you would recommend for someone who would just be starting in this craft ❤

      Yes! The thunder bolt is amazing! The nova series that I showed in this video also has a small version (the 24 is a smaller one of the one I have).

    Since you had it for so long and the new aeon redline come out would you still purchase the thunder again ?

    Can you cut ordinary wood in the Thunder? I have another brand (I'll be going with Thunder if I ever upgrade) & they said I have to use specific laser grade wood because of the glue in regular ply

    • @SimplySallie
      @SimplySallie  Месяц назад +1

      We cut plywood all the time! They recommend interior grade glue (which most plywoods have). We have accidentally gotten exterior grade plywood before and it did have a harder time cutting but did cut through. You just have to fine tune your settings. But if you look through local lumber yards you can find what you need! We don’t spend extra to get “laser wood”. Hope this helps 😊
