I love that you guys are a homeschooling family. It is definitely possible to homeschool and work from home it is just a balance that you have to find. I hope yall are able to have a great first year. The Good and the Beautiful is a great choice, especially for first-time homeschoolers. I have loved their elementary levels! I loved watching this video and seeing how you do things, thanks for taking the time to film all of this!
I just found your channel because I needed to know how to ship my first large window decal order. I also have started a small laser business (no orders yet) but I love your channel and the way you are organizing your family life in a way that works for YOUR family.
I'd love a video on organization of your office and shop so you can run through your orders efficiently
Wowwww i found you a couple years ago i think during covid when i started researching vinyl decals and thats what you were doing in ur videos . i been researching all this time because everytime i have money to start buying anything...i don't even have a laptop so most people do . i dont have that advantage so i cant even practice cricuits software so i just continue researching. I used to be a caregiver and had to stop working in 2015 and finally got my disability in 2019. Im just trying to keep learning everything i can and i have notebooks with everything ive learned from you tube kinda like a reference book. Ill get there eventually but im glad i found you again. Love that your doing the home schooling with your children. Id like to see more detail of the projects your doing now and how u package and ship them in a slower pace. Glad to see you!
Love the work with me videos! I’ve picked up on so many process improvements through watching them. Thank you so much for sharing! We started homeschooling this year as well, have a laser business (very small still), and work full time! Thank you so much for showing all the naysayers It can definitely be done! Things are chaotic, but I wouldn’t trade homeschooling for anything! I’m praying the full time job can be replaced by the end of the year. Your videos are incredibly helpful in helping us grow!!
I love your videos! I think it’s wonderful and a smart decision to homeschool your children🎉 We plan on doing the same thing when we have kids. Of course it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it ✨✨Thank you Sallie!
So after being snowed in here in TN since Sunday night, it is very inspirational to watch your videos. Thanks for all you do for your RUclips family! P.s. Tell John he needs to stop by and trim some trees for us, after the snow falls off the branches! lol.
I heard about that big snow! I wish we'd get some over here in SC! Thanks for watching 😊
I truly love watching all your videos old ones news ones❤ your the best ❣️😀thank you
I appreciate all of your videos. I too homeschool. We divide subjects each day and get through the curriculum pretty quickly in just about 2 hours per. We take off the public school P.A. days so the kids in the area have matching fun time schedules. Go on holidays when/where we want and just bring the work with. It was a decision that we'll never regret.
I've thought about trying out the dividing subjects each day too. It seems very efficient! I've really enjoyed the homeschooling experience too. I hope to continue for many years to come 🥰
I enjoyed this video ! Carolyn has grown so much! What a blessing to be able to spend so much time with your whole family ❤️
You are such a lovely person to tune into. Your full of amazingly helpful information and such an inspiration. Thank you for your precious content. 🙏🏼✨
I'd LOVE to go through your wood scraps! You threw out a perfectly good round! LOL!
We save the larger scraps! Tiny ones are burned lol
New subscriber here! Thank you so much for all this amazing Information.
Love your tutorials and videos! I have been following you for years and have had you on my craft room tv following along on many occasions lol. I have a new xtool d1 pro all set up waiting for its first run. I’d love to see more videos on how you organise, design, pack and send your orders 😊 I know a laser engraving business would be profitable in my small town I live in, I just need to learn the software xtool has… light burn seems a bit daunting to me lol 💕🇦🇺
Love that you're homeschooling! Do the kids help you out with the business "after school"?
Yes they do occasionally help! Now that they are getting older and we are hoping to build on to the shop, we are hoping they will start wanting to help more! It’s great learning for them!
I really like the work with me videos. I find them really inspiring
Love these kind of videos ❤ stay blessed guys 🥰
I'm preparing to start a Vinyl printing on Tumblers, Caps, Shirts printings. I'm trying to figure out how to organize myself when am preparing multiple orders. Do you have a video on how you organize yourself in doing those smaller multiple work orders?
I would love the scraps you throw away lol
I just love you are back!! My husband and I have a laser too
I think I might live close to you.
I'm really having a hard time figuring out how to ship large porch signs. Can you do a video or share some tips on your method?
I feel so lucky to have found your channel! For the last couple of years I have been so confused on what path to follow in order to earn a little extra income. Now I know what I need to do. I will be retiring in about 5 years but unfortunately not in an ideal place financially. I wanted to start with personalized aprons, do you recommend a certain fabric and technique that would make the transferred image more durable even after several washes? Thanks a million!
This is wonderful, I love it ☺☺☺
Thanks!
Do you save your wood scraps? Those would look so cool in a resin mosaic style table! Especially with all those beautiful spray painted and stained colors!
We do save the larger scraps! The tiny pieces are usually burned, but yes that would be super cool!
What do you do with all leftover wood when they are cut small pieces? I love watching all your videos ❤ I love going back to when I first started watching them. We do the good and the beautiful Math and English and I love getting there reading books from there. Thank you for the share ❤
The tiny pieces we burn outside in the burn pile! We save the larger scrap pieces for other projects 😊
could you do a step by step tutorial on how to set up a website please.
An Etsy shop or standalone website?
Ohhhh, that's a great ask. Might be in depth but I too would love to know more...independent. I get lost in that portion of the tech.
@@barbblack7825 I do too and it seems thr ppl thst do do thrm leave out something or it looks different than my screen and I'm lost all over again and it's no help
Hi Sallie, thank you for sharing your day with us! What kind of wood, size and thickness do you use for your laser signs? Thank you and can’t wait for more videos 😊
Mostly 1/4 inch wood and birch plywood 😊
Sallie, your work is amazing. Thanks for the motivation! A while back you recommended using the Valspar 2000 in flat, but I have seen in other videos that you appear to use semi-gloss, and you also listed semi-gloss in the paint you use that is available on Amazon. Did you indeed switch from flat white paint to semi-gloss? If so, why? This would be so helpful to know. :)
Do you also teach how you do that? Do you have a video where you show the whole process of one order where you explain in detail every step?
Where do you purchase your wood? Any recommendations?
Have you ever tried cutting these patches with your Aurora? I just purchased an aurora and can't seem to get the cut settings right.
How are you keeping your pre painted wood clean when lasering? I dont see you masking, and I dont want to mask either. 😂 Also, are you sanding the wood before and clear coating the lettering after? I’m all about an easy process. 😅
Also can yku explain ppl selling needs a EIN number and business liscense. I'd love to hear your view on this and what you do. Thanks...maybe you shouldn't have ask for ideas because I have alot 😂
I asked this about 3 months ago, but still haven’t seen a response. Sure yall are busy! 😊

Sally what type of wood do you use and where do you get it from?
Love the video. Miss watching your videos. Is there a new process to your painting and staining. Do you do that and then cute?
I like to paint then cut for most of our things, but sometimes we paint after depending on the project!
Hi Sallie!! Absolutely love you videos ❤ quick question I know you changed your shop around from vinyl decals to now wood signs
I’m kinda doing the same thing where I actually took an old digital shop and revamped it to selling tangible items but I’m wondering how long it takes to see sales come through and if I’d be confusing customers as my reviews are all based on the digital items I used to sell. I’d love your thoughts and opinions on this. Will this be a successful move or should I have started a whole brand new shop from scratch?
Thank you in advance!! ❤❤❤
How do you purchase your equipment. Did you pay for it up front are you financing and how long did it take to pay off all the equipment. I'm in the porocess of trying to purchase equipment and having trouble getting funding for a small home based business.
This is an awesome video! Where do you purchase your wood from?
We go to a local lumber yard and order by the bundle!
Where do you buy your wood from
Do you create your own shipping labels or do you take them to ups, fedex, etc to have them do it for you?
Hi Sallie, I just started selling on Etsy and was wondering if you’d be willing to make a video on how to get your business started line legally.. what all steps you need to take to get it official. Thank you!
Yes! This would be so helpful
THanks for sharing
Just curious why you like spray paint over brush on paint. Does it dry faster? Better coverage? 😊
We dont! My husband rolls the big colors that we have a ton of orders of (more cost effective and covers larger of an area quicker). I spray paint the smaller and variety of colors!
Working with wood, stains, paint, etc in the cold, how does the weather affect the materials and and finish of your products?
It doesn’t affect it too much, just takes a little longer to dry. We do run heaters in the shop so this is helpful with paint drying! It’s just really cold outside sometimes 🥶
@@SimplySallie Thanks
What do you do with all the wood scraps? Just curious if you reuse them somehow. Also thank you for your videos, love them!
we burn the tiny pieces, but the larger scraps we save for projects! 😊
I would love to see packing
I don't know if you have a video on this. I wanted to know why did you decide to go with Thunder instead of Aeon or Omtech? If you have a video on this topic, sorry for posting this here.
Yes I do have a video on this! Check out my laser playlist 😊
@@SimplySallie thank you.
Ok, I need to know where do you get your wood from?
Local lumber yard!
How often do you have to clean that laser?! Do you do that every day?
We do the optics everyday! The actual laser itself(the bed, scrubbing down the inside, etc) is a few times a year!
What is your Etsy processing time set at?
We still have it at 1-2 weeks because after the holidays it was CRAZY. Going back to normal processing time of 3-5 days next week.
That’s a lot of wood wasted. Do you all make other items out of the excess wood?
Where do you source your wood?
We use a local lumber yard!
T tell you both how happy I am to of found u, I cant find a way to connect with you please get back with m,me, in need of having several items cut,
And would love to visit with you, I live in Branson Mo
Thank u Sondra
Do you do all school or does John help?
It's mainly me with the main school stuff, although Jon does sometimes and he's always willing to help if we need.
Does your 13 year old help with your business? There is so much for children to learn other than school work.
She’s not currently interested in my business (she wants to start one of her own) but she does a lot other than schoolwork. Like I mentioned in this video, my kids are involved in a lot and we do many things throughout the week and take every opportunity for them to learn in different things we do in life.
You redid your office
