Thank you so much for this video. That saved so much time. When I was thinking about saving time, I was more thinking about saving time on changing the tool by having no tool changes. With your lesson, changing to a ball nose would have only taken 2 or 3 minutes and giving me a nice smooth finish. Than I wouldn't have to do any sanding of the part to remove those ridges. I am glad you went even further and let me know that I didn't have to 3D cut the filter groove as well. When I was making the additional cuts, I would have been cutting the filter groove twice so that too saved more time. I cut my second part last night and I am about to start my first filter build. I did watch many Aspire video's and none of them covered what you did in your videos. I know you are helping to make everyone a better CNC Operator. Scott
Excellent video Bill! I too disliked tool changes and would machine out parts rougher than they really needed to be (requiring a lot of sanding). I later improved my CNC/Mach 3 setup to include a touch plate and now tool changes are a 30 second affair - just wish I had made the modification sooner! Keep up the good work!

Your welcome Scott. I had fun making the video. Since then I have thought of a few more shortcuts you could take. Aspire is great software.

+Houston Firefox Thank you.
Bill, any updates on your G0704?
Can you email files for others to see in Aspire?
Can you make this shape with V-carve pro v9?
You could use the molding profile toolpath tool to do it in VCarve Pro. It might not be able to do the full circle in one pass.
Vectric Aspire toolpath optimization.
