I don't know if John's guitar skills, or his ability to give the most uncontroversial, polite answer to any question, is more impressive. A master at both, no doubt.
How cool is it to see and hear a remarkably talented artist who is completely ego less and so comfortable in his own skin, John 5's humble and kind in every interview you ever see from him - you can see he's truly grateful for his success and enjoying the hell out of it! Dug this episode immensely! Thanks Ed, Don and Jim!
The seemingly never-ending tech problems are truly making for compelling viewing. The ball-busting gets even more hilarious. The interviews, of course, are good, and I also must agree that John 5 finds a way to answer everything in the most diplomatic way. I did have the pleasure of meeting him when he was playing with Manson on one of those Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest tours; he was just hanging out in the VIP watching the other bands as a genuine fan. I personally have been a fan of his since he was still John Lowery. I'm still waiting to hear the as-yet-unreleased Peter Criss solo album that Richie Scarlet plays bass on.
John 5 is just so awesome. Not just a great player, but just an all around cool guy. I have a few friends who have met him and the way he is acting on this show, he really is like that in person.
Yes! I’ve met him several times. So, so nice and gracious with his time. Sometimes those meet and greet things are a rushed affair- you say hi, shake hands, they sign something, you get a pic with them, and it’s over. John makes you feel like he has all the time in the world to talk to you 😊
John 5 is one of the rare guys who didn't make me angry when he replaced a legend. In every interview, he's humble, and a fan first. Now I'm a fan. By the way, he's a great guitarist as well.
Saw several John 5 and the Creatures tours, and met him 5 or 6 times (John if you see this, I was Wonder Woman at your Halloween show in Cleveland a few years ago lol)… but here’s a great John 5 story. During a meet and greet (I think it was in Akron Ohio), a little girl (who was there with her dad) brought her violin and played for John. He was so supportive and encouraging to her, it was really very sweet ☺️
My Motley Top 6: 6. Don't Go Away Mad 5. Red Hot 4. Kickstart My Heart 3. Live Wire 2. Power to the Music 1. Primal Scream Great to see John 5! Say what you will about whether or not he's a good Mick replacement, but he is incredibly talented, and he always exudes such genuine joy for the music with each of his performances
Eddie - I know what you mean about Oklahoma. When my cover band from Dallas plays in OKC, you'd think we were Aerosmith. The people are so appreciative and stay for the whole night! 🤘🏼
John 5 is my favorite guitarist of all time. He has amazing chops but I think a lot of it has to do with his off stage interviews. He seems to be so nice and humble in real life. Dolly is also a real class act… when her home town of Gatlinburg had a wild fire, she helped with rebuilding and donated a bunch of money… true humanitarian
I remember getting the little folding love gun from the Love Gun album...when you pulled the trigger the little flag came out that said BANG! Wish I still had that all intact
Always been my fave Mötley song Live Wire🤘🏼John 5 is amazing seen him twice in Denmark with Rob Zombie and once with Manson years ago in Barcelona 🎸🤘🏼🔥Cheers from Norway 🇳🇴 🇺🇸🤘🏼🎸🔥

If we could have a President of metal, it should be John 5. He is the absolute epitome of class, style, talent, intellect and personality. “Mr. President who is still Mr. Wizard! One hell of a guy! Top thing on my bucket list is to see him live! Zoiks!
I saw Manson at Sportland in Middletown, NY... during the Potrait era. He didn't even have a stage, just played in the corner of the room. They had video games, pool tables and a rock climbing wall... OTB was there too. 😂 His stage show was during Lunchbox he had a bottle of lighter fluid in a lunchbox and he lit it up. He was theatrical from day one.
First Eddie Trunk had an FM radio show, and he interviewed all these guests a bunch of times. Then he had a Sirius-XM show, That Metal Show, a Volume show, a podcast and interviewed all these guests. Now he has a RUclips show, and he's interviewing all these guests again. You need to interview different people.
Wow I have Save Our Souls on my list as well but I'm please to see I'm not the only one. That song is so dark and catchy and nostalgic. I have it at number 5 and my favorite from theater
Great show. Dolly is awesome. Great writer. True blue. Lives it. Music legend. She rocks. Jim's picture of himself behind himself looks odd. The first two Crue albums rock.
I’ve never seen Jerry Garcia, but I am a huge Deadhead and I’ve seen all kinds of cover bands and every living member in different versions. That’s why the Pantera thing is so cool.

In regards to the current Pantera, not one fan said "this is gonna suck". Its more about if it should happen. They can play video tributes and give shout outs every night but it doesn't change the fact that Vinny Paul himself said they shouldn't reunite out of respect. Thats not something that can be ignored just because the shows are good. They could have pulled a Heaven and Hell and called it something else.
I have a Paul Stanley Iceman guitar with the certificate of authenticity. With the case. But the neck is broken from the tour. Apparently equipment had fallen on it and broke both the case and guitar.
Great interview! He is very humble and he can teach a lot of these ungrateful musicians how to act. Ever since COVID hit these bands finally figured out that if it wasn't for the fans you are nothing... Birch Hill!!
Really interested in a t-shirt until I saw the shipping costs. Over $40 to send to the UK, then $30 for the t-shirt and an additional £11 in duty/taxes. Just not affordable in the UK.
I think it would be awesome if Pantera did an album with the current lineup. I look at 6he "new" Pantera as a great cover band with some original numbers. If they did an album and it was a little different than the original Pantera, I think it would be awesome.
Personally and I was a Fan since 1984 I think Crue should call it a Day John 5 is Rad🎸🤘 You forgot DLR where is where I first heard of him oh and I don't know how this got in here but Eddie this is Ep 17 THAT Rocks!
I think it's funny that people think Phil and Rex are doing what they're doing for Dime and Vinny. Vinny HATED Phil, he blamed him for Dime's death because of his drama causing them to not move forward with Pantera and thus forming Damage Plan and having to play in the dumphole that Dime was murdered in. That's 100% on Phil. Make no mistake the new Pantera is all about money, and absolutely nothing else.
what a bs! maybe Phil was responsible for the breakup, but he is NOT responsible for Dime's death. Vinnie blamed everything on Phil because of his grief, and I can understand that. But Vinnie was wrong in a way too, Phil didn't kill anybody maybe he was just an a** hole - what you are saying is very dumb
I don't know if John's guitar skills, or his ability to give the most uncontroversial, polite answer to any question, is more impressive. A master at both, no doubt.
John 5, the master of mindfulness and manners
John 5 is without a doubt, the most humble, honest and down to earth individual in rock music. If only there were more like him around.
John 5 was the best interview yet. What a talented, humble , class act.
John 5 and the Creatures- amazing shows. John can play anything. Don’t miss the show!🔥
Too fast for Love is my very favorite Motley album!!!!

John is such a great person and interview. Still humble, a fan and incredible guitar player.

Lovin that Sabotage shirt Jim!
That tour was the first time I saw Sabbath!
Kick Ass 🤘
So glad Eddie mentioned this on the Trunknation show. Love it!
Eddie - I know what you mean about Oklahoma. When my cover band from Dallas plays in OKC, you'd think we were Aerosmith. The people are so appreciative and stay for the whole night! 🤘🏼
Thanks for the kind words about Manson Eddie 👍
John 5 is just one hell of a talent and one hell of a guy.
Cool to have John 5 finally on THAT Rocks! 🤘 a guest many of times on TMS, another fun show...
“Feels like your petting a hot thigh” 😍. Great interview!!
Just heard for the first time on radio, you guys were BACK!!! Together with a RUclips show. Awesomeness. My days are better now, ty ty guys🤘🤘🤘
Saw Motley on the last night of the stadium tour and John 5 was easily the best part of their set.
He is a beast🤟
Exactly! I agree! Because Ole Mumbles Vince can't sing to save his life!
Y&T opened in Pittsburgh when I saw the Theatre of Pain tour 🤘
Great episode- J5 is the man, see him live you won’t regret it -- other than your face being melted by his epic shredding…..
John 5 is my favorite guitarist of all time. He has amazing chops but I think a lot of it has to do with his off stage interviews. He seems to be so nice and humble in real life.

Bastard is a ridiculously killer Motley tune.
Total bad ass
Love love lurve John 5. I haven't been so into a guitarist like this other than EVH.
You don't like Nuno?
Don and Eddie need a proper mic like Jim
Eddie is ok, but Don for sure. That far away echo sound is just annoying as shit. Get mic Don!
I saw Crue on the Theater of Pain tour in NY - pretty sure Y&T opened up.
John 5 RESPECT
Eddie loves talking about Eddie
Yes I agree it's more like the Eddie trunk show.
Mike Levine (Triumph) might be a great guest, fellas. Any member of Triumph would do. They're all quite wonderfully chatty. And funny!

Why does Don refuse to upgrade his equipment?
I have a Paul Stanley Iceman guitar with the certificate of authenticity. With the case. But the neck is broken from the tour. Apparently equipment had fallen on it and broke both the case and guitar.
34:30 Loudness opened for MC in St.Louis 1985

John 5's peak record was HOLY WOOD (IN THE SHADOW OF THE VALLEY OF DEATH)

Pat Paradise Rock Station digs this!
Guns and Roses opened for Theater tour that I went to.
Hooligans Holiday!!!
Does Don have a lisp or is it the mic?
Some one PLEASE!! ask about John 5's song, "Crank It." That song F'ing Kills!!
I think it would be awesome if Pantera did an album with the current lineup. I look at 6he "new" Pantera as a great cover band with some original numbers. If they did an album and it was a little different than the original Pantera, I think it would be awesome.

@@kissmyairs81 Nah, Phil was responsible for them being in that dingy bar that day, thus responsible for his death. Vinny had it right.
John 5 needs to expose the using of tracks in live shows.
J5 and Don are correct. Zombie blows Manson away! Please come back J5!
