This stuff is AMAZING. I have a mixture of expensive fragrances and cheapies in my collection ( I have about 30). This one is without a doubt my favorite of them all. I like is so much in fact that I purchased 4 of the 3oz bottles for fear of discontinuation. I also love the Oscar for men by ODLR and glad I bought a few bottles of as it appears discontinued. The Gentlemen by ODLR I haven't had the chance to smell and likely will never get the chance as it too is discontinued. Your review was great , I love hearing what ppl have to say about this masterpiece.
I had this in 1985 during my sophomore year in high school. Wore it a few times and my female classmates sat around me in every class loving the scent.
Mate, I am so happy you finally got it in your collection. This was my Wedding Scent 29 years ago. I an absolute masterpiece to me. Another that is in the similar group is Krizia UOMO , just a little more spicy, it's crazy good . Both remind me a little of Anteus . Cheers.
Very complex scent,i love it,infact i tracked(it was a must)a shop that had many pieces of the old formula and bought it quickly.I must say it performs in an outstanding way,it gives you a onimous presence! Thanks for the review!!
Thanks! I agree :) a VERY complex but well blended scent! I would LOVE to try the old formula some day :) I get what you mean don't worry :D thanks a lot!
Glad you got round to trying this one, Matt! I knew you would really dig it. Should wear it more often but just seems too classy for casual wear. Arguably the most masculine scent i own.
Thanks Col! yeah man it's awesome, incredible juice! You'd think it was more money by the quality of the smell! A gem in my eyes! It's one of the most masculine in my collection too haha! Cheers!
Nice review! You know...I have Oscar Pour Lui and Oscar for Men and I wear the later when I'm wanting to go old-school (something befitting about citrus-peppery opening and later a pencil shavings drydown) but never Pour Lui. I recall liking Pour Lui, but I just don't recall any details nor do I wear it. Anyway, I'm going to locate it from the back of the Scent Armory archives and wear it properly tomorrow. Enjoyed!
I've seen many comparisons to Chanel Antaeus, do you think that Oscar Pour Lui would be a suitable alternative? I just rather not spend $90+ on Antaeus.
Great. I also saw Ho Hang Club being a suitable substitute to Antaeus as well, would you agree? you said Pour Lui has an animalic vibe and that's definitely what I want.
Oscar Pour Lui smells like a smooth high end leather and is more focused and unchanging. Antaeus is more woods and rose. Definitely more linear as it will morph a little more. It seems alive as in it hides than hits you in the face when you're least expecting it. I would say Antaeus is more for a dressed up vibe where as Oscar Pour Lui will have a broader use
Hey, Matt! Appreciate your work man! I wanted to purchase this bottle based off of you and Lex' review. However, I am hesitant because many are saying (on fragrantica) that the new formulation doesn't last. Is this the vintage version or reformulation? THanks!
Matt, hands down the best review I have ever come across!!! Engaging, honest and energetic! World class!!
Coming from Chris, that's quite the compliment! 🍻

Thanks Jim! I must say that I would choose this over for Men any day!
Wow!! I want this fragrance.. Thanx for review
Thank you! :) I hope you get it! it's a wonderful scent!
love this scent, its longevity lets it down. nice review Matt
I only get about 6 hours out of it, which I suppose isn't THAT amazing from the style of scent this is, but I still happen to love it :) Thanks Paul!
@@fragrancemattafter 6 hours just reapply easy
such a amazing fragrance
It really is Matt I'm in love
If you ever get ahold of the vintage it's even more amazing!!!
We miss you, Matt.
great review, greetings from Spain
Superb review Matt!
You are so right! this fragrance does smell like Dragon's Blood...wow lol....i love this scent because nobody i know has it .
Your Chanel is improving Matt! I see more seriousness going on. I suggest a good quality mic. Keep it up!
This was a blind buy for me and i really love it. It was very pungent for my liking. I eventually gave it out.
Uhm doesn't sound like you love it at all
Sounds like right good stuff ,the way the strong scents were ..Put on a bit and that was it..
Exactly right! You can't beat the classics! :)

Hi Matty number10
Hello man that perfume is soapy or leather smell?
Matt you should get yourself a bottle of HoHang Club!
How long does it last the smell for.
Hi Matty
Hello little brother! :)

Beautiful soapy scent but very very weak (I have made in USA version) 👍🏻👎🏻
I buy one on eBay and the fragrance not to good cupple hrs maby it’s fake .. its make in. Usa
Nobody is making fake $13 fragrances.
@@Josef_Rfaking cheaper scents is easier because not much people will check it then expensive scent, and China make copy of everything
God this lad is annoying, pretentious and oddly in love with himself.
😅😅 comment of the year!! 😅😅
