My daughter in law used these as napkins for her 6 children. Especially since there are always spills some time during the meal. Since the washing machine is always going, it is a good way to use less paper goods

When I'm working on larger projects like sweaters/afghans/large shawls, I like little quick projects like this to break up the monotony and give me a little "instant gratification". I can work these up in a matter of >30 minutes, and by the time I've finished my afghan (or whatever),. I usually have a set of 5-6 of these that I bundle together and give to family/friends as just an "I appreciate you in my life" gift.

You can make them a wee smaller and use as coasters. I am not a big Dollar Tree visitor, but I went for something specific today and they had yarn of all things. Who would have thought it. Years ago they had some decorative yarn that we made scarves out of. Today they had Acrylic, worsted, and yes some cotton ones. What's even weirder is that they were premier brand. They all were a $1 each and they had an array of colors. I went ahead and grabbed a bunch of the colors of the cotton yarn for specifically this washcloth tutorial. They had at least 12 colors I believe. I'm excited for them. Thanks so much for the tutorial.

very nice easy tut Crystal, ty. crocheted or knitted cloths are all my friends and family use, courtesy of me LOL. I have a laundry basket that sits at my front door and is 3/4 full of cloths so they can take what they need as needed. This past Christmas they all got an assortment of potholders, dishcloths, face scrubbies, and ear warmers that I crocheted. Love being the go-to mom for these things :)

Nice easy pattern. I was taught to go under the front and back loops on the chain stitch and the same on the foundation chain. That definitely makes it harder to get the hook in. Glad to see you don't have to. It should s do much easier to do the space or just one loop on the foundation. Thank you for helping me learn a better way. I appreciate so much you saying it doesn't have to be perfect.
