Mu charts are so funny sometimes bc like "yeah we beat steve, but god forbid we run into an inkling"
Yeah, I’m kind of laughing over the idea of Cloud mains being eager for Steve matchups over DK, Bowser, Inkling, etc.
I think almost most good players(not top players) would rather fight Steve than any of those matchups you just mentioned regardless if they play Cloud or not. Those characters have cheese, gimmicks, or are just flat out annoying where Steve and other top characters are good because they’re consistent. I’d rather fight a consistent opponent than a volatile opponent

Ice climbers is way weirder because sometimes you’re beating their ass, the next time you got hit by side b and took 90%(best case scenario)

I don't think Cloud beats Peach/Daisy that hard. He wins, but only slightly.
As a Lucario main, I am interested in the why nobody plays Lucario video!
My guess is reliance on its gimmick.

As a Lucas main i'd say this matchup is more like even. He doesn't have the tools to get in and gets outranged against Clouds hitboxes. That said Lucas do be givin Cloud some "certified DK moments" offstage.
It comes down to matchup/character knowledge and player skill. Lucas players are going to have much more experience than Cloud players in this sense.
Huge disagreement on Lucas placement. The matchup is cloud favored. Sure Lucas can gimp Cloud off stage, but on stage Cloud has the better tools to contest with Lucas. Cloud f-air, b-air, side b, and neutral B are some things that Cloud has in the matchup that make it difficult for Lucas to get in. Also F-air stops Pk-fire soooooo.
Lucas has footstool out of shield tho so he can run up shield to approach and footstool DJCZ him until he’s offstage
You are doing bad pk fires. Clouds forward air doesn’t just, win interactions with projectiles. The point he’s making is you can check clouds jumps from a distance that only joker and min min can do. If you are mashing and not playing the timing game as well, than yes you are going to get punished for contesting cloud. If you play for trades against cloud, cloud will win
@@electricssb that’s if the Lucas player has the ability to do so at the moment. DJCZ takes practice, and I’m more so thinking of a base Lucas without use of DJCZ or footstool OOS shenanigans.
@@methodtomyradness2939 even so, cloud still wins the matchup. Like I said he has other tools that still help him beat Lucas. Bad timing and contesting aside, Cloud still wins.
@@electricssb That's extremely rare because lucas would need a parry to even have a chance to get the footstool.
As a Plant-Main Cloud is probably my worst Match-Up in the entiry game. Like everything Cloud does deflects Ptooie 😢

As a Sephiroth main I think the Cloud-Sephiroth MU is even just for Cloud's ass recovery. Sephiroth struggles more in neutral, but when he gets Cloud offstage he can just counter, downair, fair/bair (sometimes, when they connect, because Seph's hitboxes are dogshit), or even octaslash pretty consistently. And yeah, Sephiroth has to react more because he's dogshit.
Cloud wins every matchup on wifi

False. Cloud loses more matchups online. It’s harder to maintain good spacing on wifi, and burst range is larger. It’s harder to punish “mash” online but that is just saying bad players get away with more than they should, which goes both ways. Cloud can die to mash from characters that turn stray hits into carry combos. Cloud only gets good reward off of landing aerials which, guess what? Lose to mashing rising aerials.

DK is even. Cloud basically runs the show in that match, but DKs grab is so lethal. As long as you don’t play into DKs game and chase him to the ledge, it’s an easy matchup.

Skill issue, this person does not know that he can camp on platforms and juggle
for the zss segment, cloud has some of the best tools to deal with zss flip kick, making him one of the few characters who can juggle her well. her jumps can also get stuffed out by cloud’s aerials and zss aerials being precise/not disjointed gives cloud an advantage in air to air situations.
she does pretty well in edge guarding cloud and keeping him offstage is her best chance to win
Cloud mains are to be the most noob player base to ever exist in a fighting game: you play the most privileged and glue eater character in the game and somehow you get the right to whine on EVERYTHING because nobody will tell you anything cuz oh my god your character is so “cool”. You fucking have a pseudo waft that’s chargeable but NO MY CHARACTER GET CHEESED WHAT DO I DO NOOO

Sora main vs Cloud Up B irks me because of the range and knockback. But I'm not scared to approach a Cloud with full Limit because if you just read the situation it can be an easy Counterattack.
vars i beat ur cloud on elite smash with my washed luigi and i 2 stocked ur cloud with samus. btw i changed my tag so when i beat you with luigi my name was lv 1 crook but when i beat you with samus my name was prob eleventy
nice seeing all three of my characters having their worst matchup be Min Min and Sonic
I mean that's the case for a lot of characters tbf. These characters have highly specialized strengths so some characters just do not have an answer to them.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 yeah but I'd just think that since I play Cloud, who doesn't lose many matchups, Steve, who's the 2nd best character, and Incin who's pretty weird when it comes to matchups. just a weird coincidence they all three have the same worst matchup

I think for both matchups it’s Cloud although you could possibly make the Steve work.
@@KingObliv Based on my experience as a viewer(I do not play), Steve is probably your best shot against Min Min. With him, you shouldn't have to win many interactions to beat Min Min because her disadvantage state is pretty bad while Steve has a crazy damage output. Finding your openings isn't easy, but Acola seems like he figured it out, check out his sets vs Doramigi, Protobanham or Omuatsu, maybe you can implement some of the things he does.
Against Sonic... I think that depends on how patient you are. With Steve, you have to be willing to hide behind a wall for a significant percentage of the match until the Sonic player hopefully gets frustrated and runs in carelessly. With Cloud, you have good mobility so you can interact with the Sonic player more, but you'll have to guess where the Sonic player is going to be a lot more often.
I think Incineroar struggles the most against both Sonic and Min Min out of your three characters.

Yeah, he's not going to be able to competently play boxers at a high level...Cloud doesn't really help you with other characters because how strong his back air and Up-b are in neutral.
@@geordiehalma7323what Clouds are you playing against that use upb in neutral. I don't even play him and I know that's bullshit.
@@OddRick3113 their neutral gameplan is to put pressure on you so you touch their shield (dash shield, empty jump shield, etc.)...I play Cloud at a mediocre 14.3 million GSP and this gameplan is very strong.
22:13 as a Ridley main I kinda just disagree. While Ridley certainly has the advantage and tools to make Cloud's life a living hell offstage and neutral tools to match his range, Ridley does get destroyed by Cloud's advantage and his size means he can't escape from Cloud at ledge situations. IMO, if the worst you can say is that a matchup is really bad if you're losing but good if you're winning, isn't that just a normal advantage/disadvantage and would be "even"?

33:15 To help a little here, the reason I see why Cloud beats ZSS but none of the other hit and runners is because Greninja, Sheik, and Inkling aren't just fast, they also low profile, making Clouds best walling tools harder to use, whereas Sonic is just fast on a different level. Also, all 4 of them can recover from pretty much anywhere, allowing deeper edge guards, thus limiting Clouds up b timing. ZSS doesn't have any of that X factor that makes it hard for Cloud specifically to beat her. Normally she makes up for it with generally longer (tho not disjointed) hitboxes, out of shield, and better combos, but she can't use those strengths against Cloud, because he hard counters them. (I'm not a competitive player, this is very much opinion/observation, feel free to correct me)
Would've liked to hear more on the reasoning for why Marth does better than Lucina. The part about him having the option to kill much easier applies against the whole cast, but he's still pretty unanimously considered worse than her. What's different in the Cloud matchup specifically?

I disagree with mii brawler. He has way better frame data and kills absurdly early. Since Cloud uses landing Aerials he gets anti aired quite a lot and shotput, though not great for edge-guarding, can creat checkmate situations. Cloud is still able to wall him out if spaced well and can kill pretty easily which makes me believe it's an even match conceptually but I find him to be an even or losing match as a Cloud main.
Ngl I think plant is losing. I think the plant player base just isn’t trying that hard at optimizing the matchup. Having to engage with so much grab rps to get anything done is absurd
I felt like this was a much better-paced and well-scripted tier list compared to the others you've done. With the others I always felt the urge to skip around, but not here.
I hate the game design of making the most fun character but if you do an aerial a little too low you die this is why Steve's my favorite character because he's fun and has a great recovery Cloud's recovery is so frustrating
Lucas is really interesting because I was just thinking about him today and about a certain scenario that he shares with top characters that i wont share here. I think Lucas would get away with less offline. However, I think this is definitely something to think about.

I'm a very causal puff main, and I kinda think Cloud is puff's 2nd if not worst matchup. Just feels like I get outranged the entire match and can't do much.
You just need to learn the matchup, just try to edgeguard cloud when you can and you can move around his hit boxes with your air speed.

This may be a stupid question but do you think Cloud plays the game for you? And if that’s the case I was wondering if you think Aegis or Cloud are like characters that play the game for you, meaning, they’re easy to pick up and win with
Cloud doesn't really carry, besides his limit, Bair, his ability to force approaches, he moreso relies on the fundies and skill of the player who plays him

I don't think any character plays the game for you. Cloud is one of the simpler characters but this game is so optimized by now it comes down to mind games. No character has the ability to mind game for you, brain over coding basically.

Jesus the amount of lack of understanding of certain characters is crazy. Banjo and kazooie go either even or slight win on cloud. VARS reasons: "mu check , banjo plays defensive but cloud mostly wins ok moving". Such a naive take and shows the level there at.
What are you on about. Cloud has better frame data range and tools to kill. The only threats Banjo has is Wonder Wing and grenade if you're constantly hitting them.

Cloud mains are so lazy at the game they somehow convinced everyone that banjo and kazooie wins again them. That win on sparg0 it’s just toriguri being godlike + as a player, having one of the greatest neutral game this game has ever seen
