I have the RI 1000 DTG printer. From day one this printer has given me nothing but problems. Ink leaks, error after error, I have even sent this print to the shop twice to be repaired. This printer has given me PTSD. I paid just over 17 thousand for the " pro " package and another 2,600 for a new printer head that they like to call a carriage unit. It is not a carriage unit it is a printer head. I have purchased about 3,000 in ink. Most the time my DTG printer has been turned off with cleaner in the lines. Every time I turn it on I get nothin but errors and now it has the 900 error. To clear the 900 error you have to replace two parts the carriage ( printer head & and a board ) Carriage was offered to me as a referb for 1,500.00 with board. just at 1,600. The auto mainence is awesome for a DTG printer, but please know that the auto mainence your printer will produce what is called waste ink. For me it was about 150.00 in waster ink a month. Also because the ink is not in a air tight or vacuumed sealed bag it is not a air tight when incerted into the ink port. The ink for the Ri 1000 is a water based ink meaning there will be water evaporation. So you ink will get thicker as time moves by, and the water will separate from the ink and clogging printer heads is a natural response to the evaporation of water. You will be required to " shake " the ink every 12 hours. Again this is due to the separation of the water from the ink. So no matter what you will be required to drive to walk to or call someone ( if your away on holiday ) to shake the ink every 12 hours. I beg you to invest your money into a Direct to film printer. Small business DTG is a dying industry. I will be moving my Ri 1000 to the back yard where I will dismantle it with my favor SLEDGEHAMMER ! Thank You for reading. This is my story.
@@frkk6933 yes do your research on what DTF works for you. If you are working with dark fabric be sure to get something that has white ink. Do not be in a hurry. I would say don't trust what you see on youtube. There are many just wanting you to use a link to purchase. So, of course the one they have is always ALSOME. PLEASE take your time and look at all of them.
I have been working with DTF printing for a while now and I do love it. You can cure the print then you can transfer that print just about anywhere. With the DTG you are so limited. The DTG printer can print DTF but that is very expensive DTF printer. For me I prefer the DTF printer. @@frkk6933

Yes, yet there are instances where the print comes off, so to fix it, you just have to iron the inverse side of the tee where the printed side is.
