Oh man, I know a lot of people skip the first game, but they really shouldn't. It's an old game and it shows, sure, but it's the beginning and is actually really important story-wise. You get to feel and appreciate how the games changed later on, beginning to flow better and adding new, experimental features like in Revelations. The first few generations of Assassin's Creed are so good.
This game gets judged way too harshly. It was groundbreaking at the time. As the games progressed they learned what worked and what didnt and with Ezio having his trilogy Altair tends to get pushed aside. Its worth remembering that without Altair Ibn Al-Ahad there would be no Ezio, or any of the others, and especially no franchise.
@parsman9914 "No books. No wisdom. Just you fratello mio. Requiescat in pace, Altaïr." I was tearing up. Revelations was the first Assassin's Creed I played.
Dont judge Altair harshly. This is setting the groundwork for an incredible tale. The story is literally telling you everything you need to know. As Bruce Lee once said,' its like a finger pointing at the moon, concentrate on the finger and you miss all that heavenly glory'
As much I adore the AC Ezio games, the vibe and atmosphere of AC 1 truly still feels the most unique out of all of the AC games. The Middle Eastern setting taking place in the time of the crusades is not something you would ever see in video games. Hopefully AC Mirage (coming out next month) gives us this unqiue feeling back as it really gives off AC 1 vibes.
From what little gameplay we’ve seen…I do get AC1 vibes from AC Mirage. Seeing Basim parkour through Baghdad reminds me of the GOAT…Altair Ibn La Ahad…bustling through the streets and rooftops of Damascus and Jerusalem. Can’t wait!
Nice to see someone discover this gem :) You've had several problems with assassinating from above. To assassinate a target while you're on a beam/roof/etc., you need to lock on them first and then you can assassinate. The agent of the Jerusalem bureau has a very good reason to hate Altair. He's Malik, the guy from the beginning if you remember. Altair basically caused his brother to die and him to lose his arm by 'abandoning' them in the temple.
I've watched plenty of videos of non-AC fans reacting to the cinematic trailers. You're the first I've seen that followed through and started playing them. Respect! I forgot how awesome this game actually was. You're in for an amazing journey.
Your reaction is what I expected after you said you love stealth and history) It is such a joy to see a first-time reactions from a guy like you. So cool, man!
I have not seen AC1 in so long, yet it brings a lot of good memories :') An interest fact, AC1 was actually designed to be played without a HUD at all. Developers put a lot of thought into environment, so that you need to see and listen to know where to go and what to do. They obviously made a HUD option so that everyone could still play, but I do recommend to try it as a second playthrough maybe
1:41:13 lmao throwing that beggar cracked me up 😂😂 yeah they get pretty annoying especially if you're on a mission. Anw can't wait to see more of your AC playthroughs! Trust me it gets more exciting the further you're into the story
The first game feels kind of repetitive, but what else do you expect from a 2007 game. The parkour is really enjoyable and atleast it doesn't have any tailing missions (if you know, you know). My favourite game is AC4 Black Flag. Kind of cliché but you know, it's just that good.
Agree with everything you said, but differ in favorite games. My personal favorite was AC3. But ive got an unpopular opinion on the sailing aspect of the Assassins creed games. Im not a big fan, and that being such a big part of Black Flag, made it hard for me to really enjoy as much as the other AC games.
Yeah I didn’t like AC4 that much either. There was to much sailing and ship battles and took too long to get to every island. It made fast travel that much more desirable. And I liked the parkour and combat in the Ezio trilogy and Unity better
AC4 the least Assassiny gamble. It took most of the assassin creed aspect of the series out of it, it felt like I was playing a pirates of the Caribbean game with a side of cosplaying an assassin
Altair kills his interrogators because he sees them as risks that they'll warn their associates of Altair's pressence It may seem out of line, but it is his way of making sure no loose ends are left untied
People say it’s repetitive to a fault but that simply isn’t true. This is the only game in the series where you play as a assassin as a job enjoy it don’t let comments form your opinion on it and try to do everything you can you’d be surprised how much depth there is in this game.
I know I am pretty late to the party in this topic of which Assassin's Creed game is my favorite. But Assassin's Creed 3 is my favorite, because of the Native American Assassin named Conor. Because of his awesome and unstoppable fighting skills taught to him by the Black Assassin Achilles's. You can tell he just to be a beast at fighting.
Thanks so much for playing AC1! I must say, Altair might seem a certain way, but it's all a part of character growth. You'll eventually understand it more as the game goes on, as well as when the rest of the games come into the picture. I absolutely love how you try to guess things and connect it to the bigger picture. It makes the gameplay even more exciting!
Been feeling the same, strongly. The depth of the concept is brilliant because of how much it connects the essential narrative of the creed and Altair's path with the game's storytelling, that is grounded to Desmond being the closest representation for a player. Hence, the evident interaction of Desmond with a machine that simulates a story, making the person immerse like a gamer playing in a console. Also, the short thrilling cinematography, organic and focused dialogue, adds to the story progression very well. It catches our interest easily. Of course, the idea and mechanics are incorporated as they should so when you are outside the Animus you feel back into a reality, not merely simulation.
Oh god I hope you'll like this game, just let me tell you this, mostly everyone finds this game boring which I very much understand but still, this is my favorite game of all time and I'm not blinded by nostalgia since I played this game for the first time 5 months ago and loved it.
I love the early assassin's creed games! and the first one always gets overlooked even tho its story is what started it all! so glad you are playing it! Also, you probably realized this by now, but the reason Malik hates Altair so much is because he's the guy from the beginning, the one who was against killing the old man and retrieved the treasure (and lost his arm AND brother in the process)
I bought Assassin's Creed at the midnight release back in '07 and immediately loved the game. As to which title is my favorite now, mine is Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
I haven't played all of the games yet, so I can't claim which one is my favorite. The Ezio trilogy is said to be the best storyline, but I just love watching the graphics grow over the years
The group that Altiair’s targets belong to believe that freedom and free will causes chaos and disorder and believe taking away one’s free will and freedom will dispel chaos and bring about order, structure, stability and peace
Assassin's Creed 3 is definitely one of my favorites. The rope dart is fire! Overall, Origins is my favorite. The Egyptian is so beautiful. Odyssey is also up there. I enjoy using the spear.
I'm just enjoying so much watching your reactions. Thanks for sharing them with us. i want to add something that I didn't see in the comments and may give a upgrade to the gameplay and immersion. In te menu of the game, while playing with altair, there's a section called "memory log" where you can not only access the thoughts of Altair about the information he got while investigating about his target, but also read documents and see maps about the place that the target will be. The maps contain value information about guards and access/escape routes, while the documents give more infomation about the context about what is happening. Those are attached files in each of the memory segment in the memory log. When I discovered about it, watching a gameplay on youtube, and started replaying AC1, I decided to read everything and use that information in my favor, visiting the local of the kill in beforehand so I could prepare better myself. I truly felt what it was this game about and made the experience far more rich, both for gameplay and knowledge. P.S: This "detail" is not explained in any tutorial, as same the ability to vault while doing parkour...
I love AC 1 for atmosphere after finishing game try turning off ALL huds and etc. You will become a real assassin, you will hear how random people on the street talking about places you searching, in a dialogue of strangers they will meanwhile mention a direction of famous place of the city, you will go south as random people told, while walking you will hear another guys arguing about terrible dictator, which ur going to kill. You will be climbing on high points to see the city, not to unlock the map. Collecting information by small pieces is beautiful in this game. Also i wanna mention chase theme. This is the best atmosphere in whole AC series, this game was made to make you feel a real assassin.
I'm sure you figured it out but Malik, the bureau leader in Jerusalem, was the one who's brother died in Solomon's Temple and lost his arm because of Altaïr's actions. His hatred is especially justified.
If you want to air assassinate someone that means assassinating someone from the top of a building you have to lock on to them the assassinate theme (you can't do this if your really high)
Youve got me as a viewer if you make videos playing through all the Assassins Creed games. Love seeing your reactions seeing as youve never played the games. Enjoy man, these games only get better until the more recent games imo. The later RPG style games are good dont get me wrong, but not the same as the OG style games.
Don't forget that Malik in the Jerusalem bureau is the same guy who lost his brother AND his arm in the very beginning due to Altairs arrogance. So of course he's mad. Also, you can adjust the POV by the click of a button while talking to the bureau leaders.
i'm not one for playthrough videos but for some reason i can't stop watching this one. i really enjoy watching you play this game, it really brings me back, i'm so glad you didn't skip this one. also, your reactions are hilarious and hella entertaining, keep up the good work!👊
AC 1 is kind of dark and has so many interesting questions and topics, watching you play with the thoughts you share has been really fun to see, I love this game and I think it has the best story (a shame that nowadays stories aren't really at the heart of games), I hope you enjoyed playing it, and I'm already curious to see your reactions to the underrated AC Revelations (my favourite AC game.)
Also…thank you for not skipping AC1! Never understood why one would skip the very game and the character that kicked the franchise off - Altair Ibn La Ahad. How important Altair is will be made known as you progress through the franchise
You can speak with the woman when the man isn't in the room. Beside of that you should exlpore with Desmond as much as you can because it's really interresting!
I always really enjoyed the idea of doing missions to get intel for alternate routes and weaknesses and stuff to aid in completing the mission in an easier fashion.
I remember getting This and Ninja Gaiden 2 as my first Xbox 360 games. Played this sooo much back in the day. Hidden Blade was my favorite weapon, even in high profile combat.
I am so glad you are starting this journey! My favorite was actually Origins and Odyssey. I know Odyssey isn't the typical assassins creed game but it was a lot of fun being a Spartan and exploring Greece. All of the games are connected in some way and Odyssey was no exception, as small as that connection may be. And Origins was AMAZING. Bayek was my favorite Assassin. I honestly have a soft spot for all the games. They're each unique in their own way.
I’m glad you started with AC1. It’s worth it even just to learn the present day story. I thought it was amazing the first time around especially since it’s a new story/experience. It’s just hard for me to replay now. Gameplay mechanics may be a bit dated and repetitive. But still a great story. Excited to see your reaction.
Got my sister into the series years ago, she likes Ezio and I like Altair 😂 I also like Jacob and Evie. But Assassin's Creed isn't a game I could play over and over again. I also like Origins, cause I like Egyptian mythology.
AC1 is my favorite other than AC Origins and I think even with AC 1s repetitiveness it’s still top 3 of all time bc the cinematography and the atmosphere in this game is unmatched the way the shot this game is just insane!! Easily top 3 game out of the franchise
Hello there as I am new to your channel, but I am a player of the Assassin’s Creed games as seeing a new player to this long journey of Assassins is a nice touch to watch or see your way of the creed 😄 I hope you have fun with this game series as some of their story is beautiful and interesting. While there be some shocking things out there. I highly recommend you check out some mini games as well as some being missed out there. As well some movies that take place during the AC journey. With all said, since you ask on what Assassin’s Creed is the favorite. I have to say that mine is Origins as something about that one spark wow and have a unique way of mechanics in that game that spark a wow and the story to music is just amazing. 😌
Malik was the one who accompanied you on the first mission when you killed that innocent man in the underground tunnels and then exposed yourself to the enemy. He’s the one who came back with an injured arm. He’s missing an arm because of you
Yeah, PC ports of early games can be quite wonky, especially with controls. So I'd advise you to map things like that (if you use XBOX controller): Head (yellow) - Y Empty Hand (Red) - B Armed Hand (Blue) - X Legs (Green) - A High Profile - Right Trigger Lock on - Left Trigger That would be the most convenient for ealy games. Starting with AC 3 the control scheme will change a bit, but you'll get used to it fast. Mostly, the control scheme stays the same throughout the series, except for Mythological Trilogy (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and etc.) Also, due to wonky optimisation and how old games work on modern machines, I advise you to try out different settings for VSynch. For example, in the first Dead SPace game (which laos came out around 2008), VSynch on modern machines makes ragdolls jump around the environment spontaneously. Oh and yeah, for some games even high FPS would cause bugs and script failures. So I'd advise not to play AC1 on FPS around 60. 30-40 would probably not cause anything, but I know for sure some 2008 games work terrible on 60+ FPS.
The ac games I like are Odyssey, Valhalla and black flag but I like Odyssey more only because of the sea battles. And it's cool that you are from Michigan, I'm from Midland
1:24:13 This game focuses more on "social stealth" rather than traditional stealth. Performing socially acceptable low profile actions acts like crouching in this game.
Bro you know quite abit about history and stuff would love to see your journey through the AC series, it has its ups and downs though edit: there are reasons why Altair is so bitter and cold here, idk if the game tells you this or not Also my favourite AC is Blackflag for a few reasons like the setting, gameplay, protagonists and characters
I rmemembr the wait for ac2. I think i played this game right before they showed off ac2 and i was very suprised it was in renesaince italy. I liked the change tho
Long time subscriber here, and answering your prompt a little late I feel, but I'll say my favorite assassin's creed game is brotherhood or quite possibly black flag. Black flag was the only one I 100% though. So take from that what you will. Comparatively though, my fiancee's favorite (so far) has been Odyssey
i never had any glitches playing AC 1 on xbox besides sometimes collectible flags i know i haven't gotten or touched in a new game over all enjoyed the video hope you will finish the game. ps i think you missed the chance at the end to pick pickpocket the code from the guy to access his laptop and to get all dialog options with lucy skipping the first day where its just you two as you didn't wait for the guy to fully leave the room first
My feelings on the combat are that I stopped using melee weapons and just started countering with the hidden blade exclusively, because why not. Still quite fun even if it is a bit easy. My favorite AC was Brotherhood.
In order to air assassinate in this game you need to hold down the high profile button. Just thought I should let you know because it’s something I didn’t know on my first playthrough
The ring finger is missing that doesn't mean it's tradition. It's the sacrifice ring finger when you're going to lose by death, and let you live by sacrificing your left ring finger by using your hidden blade. By the way, you realized Al Mualim's betrayal was just a beginning since the templar raid the location? There's some hints that you listen to their NPC and their 8 target will listen to you.
Just keep playing them bro. They are all awesome. The first one,I'm sure you kno now is it was very repetitive lol. Like horrible repetitive. It becomes a new monster after the first game.Ezio is a beast. I found your video randomly when you watched the cinematics and you got me down your rabbit hole on your journey. U are fun content to watch and keep it up. I'll be watching while our on your journey😎🤘
My favorite assassin's creed is between AC brotherhood and revelations because of the assassin recruitment system. I believe you will have a split opinions about the games after that, since they remove some things and add new stuff and you will probably enjoy all AC games either way. They all have their own charm and it's always great going into a different time period with every game. (not including the platformer ones).
Subscribed to the channel. Just a foreword before you move forward. Could you please do a reaction to the cutscenes for Assassin’s Creed - Bloodlines after AC1 and before starting AC2? It helps explain more about Altair. There’s a 55 minute compilation available on RUclips
Some of the games mid way and on through the series at very very very long games so I will be mad surprised but extremely happy if you makes videos playing through every one. Don't forget Freedom Cry and Liberation, the DLC Standalones!
Imo AC1 and the Ezio collection are THE pinnacle of AC. Black flag was good, AC Unity is good now that its patched, Syndicate is alright, AC Origins is the only RPG AC I fully invested in other then that rest are 💩. Again my imo. Btw use Eagle vision as Desmond in the bedroom you'll find something...interesting.
You can check out the info you gather on your targets in the mission tab on the start screen. They show a few schematics on the possible ways to get to your target.
Thing about killing “preachers” is coz u r assassin on a mission, if u let him live, he might tell someone, this way mission aproach is safer. Also you can visit mission handlers (bureau) before intel missions, i prefered that way coz i think they tell you who target is and where to gather intel… that was my immersion tactic as a kid 😁
I remember my dad got the game of the year edition and I would look at it, and being 7-8 at the time, thinking I wasn't ready for blood and murder. But I'm glad I got interested in the series in the end.
For your information the animus in the earlier games the reason Desmond looks like Altair and Ezio is simply because of the face was hard to actually have it the same reason you can’t swim
I would describe it as group of games are my favorite like Ezio's and Kenway legacy. I hope you try to play the multiplayer games AC 4 since is the more active in these days ( at least a session) so you can experience all full AC.
Amazing first playthrough! Liked and subscribed. Im glad that you did not skip AC1. This is the way. Hope you will play through all of them! Also, Im really happy to see that you so interested in all that's happening. That you talking to Lucy, reading emails. Keep going! AC universe is full with conspiracy theories and such, hidden beneath these "side" activities. Also, you've probably already skiped few conversations of Desmond and Lucy. One is about Desmond's past, I believe. But you can still catch it up in Revelations. The interaction button dont always appear immediately. Or it may not appear until Dr. Vidic walks out the room. So dont rush. P.S. And PLEASE stop using "Creed" wrong. Creed =/= Brotherhood. Assassin's Creed is what it is - their creed. Their organization is called the Assassin Brotherhood (rarely, the Assassin Order).
These four games are about to say you’re all tied for first in my opinion sasses creed two, brotherhood, revelations and three, they’re all just great.
*deep breaths* I just have to say it here at the beginning of me watching this Altair is one of my favorite Assassins. I know you opinion probably changes later but he is one of the brightest minds in the brotherhood. Also the only reason he missed his first assassination is because the other assassin shoved him and made him miss his mark.
I beat this game in the next video here: ruclips.net/video/60lYWNoEeP4/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Altair was an important part of Revelations too and had a great character arc. The ending of his and Ezio's story gives me chills every time.

Don't forget that Malik in the Jerusalem bureau is the same guy who lost his brother AND his arm in the very beginning due to Altairs arrogance. So of course he's mad. Also, you can adjust the POV by the click of a button while talking to the bureau leaders.
i'm not one for playthrough videos but for some reason i can't stop watching this one. i really enjoy watching you play this game, it really brings me back, i'm so glad you didn't skip this one. also, your reactions are hilarious and hella entertaining, keep up the good work!👊
Can't wait for you to get to 2 and Brotherhood, they're my favourite games in the series along with Black Flag and Origins. Have fun!
Now this is epic. Hope you have fun as you explore the great world of Assassin's Creed!
Ima big asasins creed fan
Man this game sure does bring back memories! Glad to see you playing it!
I remember getting This and Ninja Gaiden 2 as my first Xbox 360 games. Played this sooo much back in the day. Hidden Blade was my favorite weapon, even in high profile combat.
Yes, it is Kristen Bell, Lucy's model was made in her image as well
i hope more of this comes out! Ac 1 is so cool if you're playing it for the first time, I still think its pretty good
Many hours I spent as a kid on these games, such a throwback
So excited for you to play the Ezio Trilogy and Conner is great in 3. AC1 is a slow burn of a game but it is worth playing.
So I'd advise you to map things like that (if you use XBOX controller):
Head (yellow) - Y
Empty Hand (Red) - B
Armed Hand (Blue) - X
Legs (Green) - A
High Profile - Right Trigger
Lock on - Left Trigger
That would be the most convenient for ealy games. Starting with AC 3 the control scheme will change a bit, but you'll get used to it fast. Mostly, the control scheme stays the same throughout the series, except for Mythological Trilogy (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and etc.)
Also, due to wonky optimisation and how old games work on modern machines, I advise you to try out different settings for VSynch.
The loss of the ring finger "was" the price for an assassin's initiation. That's why the ring finger is missing.
That’s interesting, they showed that in the Mirage trailer and now I see why.
Combat tip for you
You can do a counterkill with your hidden blade
Only counterkill
It needs perfect timing
Pro tip, you can also assassinate them when their guard is down, like when they’re flinched or taunting
Hi SHSL Blaze I love this and I hope you have a good day and you are awesome
AC 1 has my favorite story of any of the games honestly. Altair is such a great character
Bro you know quite abit about history and stuff
would love to see your journey through the AC series, it has its ups and downs though
edit:
there are reasons why Altair is so bitter and cold here, idk if the game tells you this or not
Also my favourite AC is Blackflag for a few reasons like the setting, gameplay, protagonists and characters
My favorites are unity and brotherhood just for gameplay and unity's stealth and parcour is just a whole other level
Blaze: How come there's not a modern day Assassin's Creed?
Watch Dogs: Please allow me to introduce myself~...
I rmemembr the wait for ac2. I think i played this game right before they showed off ac2 and i was very suprised it was in renesaince italy. I liked the change tho
Thank you so much for starting with the first Assassins Creed this is my favorite out of the series😁
I played AC since 2007 and first one will always have my heart
Long time subscriber here, and answering your prompt a little late I feel, but I'll say my favorite assassin's creed game is brotherhood or quite possibly black flag. Black flag was the only one I 100% though. So take from that what you will. Comparatively though, my fiancee's favorite (so far) has been Odyssey
I've always wanted to play this game but never had the chance. Thanks for posting.
Now I know why the movie was the way it was.
i never had any glitches playing AC 1 on xbox besides sometimes collectible flags i know i haven't gotten or touched in a new game over all enjoyed the video hope you will finish the game. ps i think you missed the chance at the end to pick pickpocket the code from the guy to access his laptop and to get all dialog options with lucy skipping the first day where its just you two as you didn't wait for the guy to fully leave the room first
My feelings on the combat are that I stopped using melee weapons and just started countering with the hidden blade exclusively, because why not. Still quite fun even if it is a bit easy. My favorite AC was Brotherhood.
In order to air assassinate in this game you need to hold down the high profile button. Just thought I should let you know because it’s something I didn’t know on my first playthrough
Thanks so much!
Would have to say assassin's creed 2 is my favorite by far much love to see you playing the series
The story is good, but the lore u find out about the creed and "those who came before" when exploring is amazing. Iykyk.
I love that u gave ac1 a chance! LET"S GOO!!
You can check out the info you gather on your targets in the mission tab on the start screen. They show a few schematics on the possible ways to get to your target.
My fav games are the Ezio games. I love how they aged him from a teen to an old man. Also you stream on RUclips?
Assassins creed 3 is my favorite ac game EVER! Just cause it’s during the revolutionary war and Connor is just a bad ass
I’m not that big fan of assassin Creed but I did see some trailers and they look cool so I might give it try!
You should play assasin's creed unity
@@nicbckp boring as hell unity
if you play them do it in the order they were released
You can notice that when Altair is damaged, you are desynchronized a bit. This means that historically, Altair was never hit by an enemy.
I remember my dad got the game of the year edition and I would look at it, and being 7-8 at the time, thinking I wasn't ready for blood and murder. But I'm glad I got interested in the series in the end.
very well edited video, was worth every minute
Fun fact, Assassin's Creed was originally supposed to be set in the prince of persia universe where you played as the prince's bodyguard
Trilogy of the second assasin and the third game - my favourites
These four games are about to say you’re all tied for first in my opinion sasses creed two, brotherhood, revelations and three, they’re all just great.
that failed leap of faith glitch gets me every time 😂
I’ve never seen that happen before! That was hilarious 😂
Broooo huge respect for playing ac1
*deep breaths* I just have to say it here at the beginning of me watching this Altair is one of my favorite Assassins. I know you opinion probably changes later but he is one of the brightest minds in the brotherhood. Also the only reason he missed his first assassination is because the other assassin shoved him and made him miss his mark.
Honestly I'm excited though to see you get through more of the games :) I see you have just made it through brotherhood so I can't wait to see more.
Watched your trailer reaction loved it and became your subscriber and here we are 😄
Also loved your Stanley Parable Deluxe Edition 💙
This game so damn hard
