@@ebanksstudiosGuessing because Daniel Logan's lived in the US for quite a few years (must admit, when I first heard Mox I wasn't _totally_ sure it was a Kiwi doing the voice rather than someone going for a Kiwi accent - realised it was pretty quickly of course). (Logan and Morrison are actually originally from closer to each other than either is to where Dennison is from)
The most exciting moment of this episode for me was when Wrecker mentioned how the planet they were on smelled like a “Jotaz”, which is the big enemy with lanky arms on Zeffo in Fallen Order
Roland was in S1E13. He made several mentions of his mother Isa Durand and said she was the head of a powerful crime syndicate. Cid even told the Pykes they wouldn't want to risk a war against her. I thought that was a bit too big a tidbit to be left unused, glad they got around to actually showing her.
I love how with most Star Wars actors (even those cut in the relased films) seems to always come back. Daniel Logan has been Boba since Ep2, in the CLone Wars TV show, Boba fett as a cameo, Lego Star Wars, and now here. Hayden and Ewan, obviously all the OG 3 Mon Mothma actress was in a cut scene in Ep3 and still returns for TV shows and movies The emperor has always been played by the same guy... even in the OG films.. Love how the star wars family never forgets you, love that respect
Wasn't expecting to see the Bad Batch fight something that looks just a little bit like The Flood, but I'm not complaining about it. I was also really interested to see what happened to some of the Clone cadets - I'm so glad that Star Wars is answering these kinds of questions.
Hopefully this means that Daniel Logan voiced Boba in this season as well. Also, if they somehow make Omega related to Rey, Rey Palpatine Skywalker would actually be a Fett.🤣😂
I was definitely thinking there might've been some sarlacc DNA in the slither vine especially with the mouth shape and the way it was trying to pull the ship down like the sarlacc did to Slave 1. Just missing the weird beak tongue but maybe the manipulation eliminated that feature.
You may have pointed this out later in the discussion, but the queen at the beginning is voiced by Anjelica Huston! Morticia Addams! Awesome to have her in Star Wars, even if just a little bit.
Well, if by "later in the discussion" you mean "30 seconds into the discussion" :). (she was also in 'Visions' S2 BTW though she mostly just did eerie screeching in that one)
the slither vines kinda remind me of the necromorph hive mind in Dead Space, just silently evolving to be more and more horrific in the forgotten corners of the world
15:44 Actually, we do see and hear very briefly, in season 1 episode 14 of the Bad Batch, a Clone Cadet. But I'm not sure if it's Daniel Logan or not because for some weird reason it's not in the credits for that episode. 21:50 Season 1 episode 13.
Many thanks to Eric, Rick, Calvin and Aaron! ⛓ Isn't it interesting that Julian Dennison voiced 'Deke' and 'Stak' while Daniel Logan only voiced 'Mox'?
I assume maybe mox is meant to be slightly younger. In clone wars some of the older clone cadets were voiced by dee Bradley baker so I assume Jullian is being used as a new middle stage voice
To be fair, we've had differing voices between the clone cadets waaay back in both the episodes ARC Troopers and Lethal Trackdown. They're kids, so of course puberty is going to be a factor and so they won't be fully developed until around teen-age, both voice and looks. Also interesting to note that none of these clones in Paths Unknown are necessarily the "in-between" (Bodie Rook model, Eric ;)) or young clone cadet models we've seen in Lethal Trackdown, ATOC and select scenes in ARC Troopers. The clones we see in Paths Unknown seem to be completely new and original clone cadet models, even more different ages and phases of the clones' life we've never seen onscreen before! Pretty neat.
On the topic of wanting more like what was mentioned at 4:03, I've been wanting a show based around The Old Republic since The Acolyte was announced. I was excited, less so now that I know it takes place during The High Republic instead, but I'm still looking forward to it.
I dunno, guys. I don’t think I would want there to be a self-destruct built into my valuable, top secret laboratory. Someone could break in, or someone inside the lab could use it to destroy the lab. BTW, according to the “Descriptive Audio” track, that large creature was unrelated to the vines. It was some type of native animal species.
I agree with Eric: I really wish Star Wars would make more animated content, whether it be shows or movies. It really is the best medium for Star Wars, where you can create these extremely alien environments without having to worry about it looking 100% real and merging it with real actors and real sets. It's so frustrating that live action shows are allowed to flourish but animation is always held back. Even more so considering animation carried Star Wars on its own for 5 years and created characters and storylines that current live action Star Wars is benefitting from.
I am not a fan of animation in general and I enjoyed Andor, Ahsoka and Mandalorian, but the more I think about Bad Batch, Clone Wars and Rebels, the more I wonder if all Star Wars should be animated now. Some of the writing and visuals just work so much better in animated form. Also if location shooting is so cost prohibitive that most things are gonna be small scale to allow for the Volume, I'd prefer more of the expansive scale that animation allows.

Props to Daniel Logan for voicing a clone again, but also Julian Dennison for a new voice to the younger two cadets
Julian sounded more like Temuera Morrison
Man like Ricky Baker.

"The sarlacc's Louisiana cousin." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“…it’s the Sarlaac’s Louisiana cousin.” That one got me…
That’s exactly what comes to my mind. So where are the teeth?
In which the Empire accidently creates the fucking Flood.
Literally what I was thinking 😂

Im so happy we got to see what happened to some of the young clones.
Same
Yeah, last time we saw them they were being evacuated on Kamino.
Happy we got to find out, not happy with what happened to them though 😢 Poor kids
Daniel Logan played Mox and not the other two because they wanted Mox to sound older.
I love when Star Wars leans into horror territory, it's not frequent, but it's always so fun.
It broke my heart only to see that it was just still two of 99 left
Anjelica Huston also voiced the creepy sith lady in Star Wars visions episode Screecher's Reach I believe.
That's why she sounded so familiar
She also voiced Angela (the tv executive) from Bojack Horseman.
Roland was in S1E13. He made several mentions of his mother Isa Durand and said she was the head of a powerful crime syndicate. Cid even told the Pykes they wouldn't want to risk a war against her.

This episode gave me straight horror and alien vibes & I’m here for it. Also it’s awesome we got to see what happened to the cadets!

Waiting Episode for Palpatine
When the vines started to grow legs and walk, they kinda reminded me of flood infection forms
idk if it was just me, but it sounded like the gonk said "badonkagonk" at one point
Daniel Logan was also Boba in Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga
Eric is my Star Wars Spirit animal. 💙 💜
So true

Hopefully this means that Daniel Logan voiced Boba in this season as well. Also, if they somehow make Omega related to Rey, Rey Palpatine Skywalker would actually be a Fett.🤣😂
I think Animation is generally the best medium for Star Wars, animation and video games.
Especially if force shenanigans are involved.
especially TCW/TBB style
The immediate first second I saw those vine creatures on that planet it was NOOOOOOOOPE
The vine monster reminded me of the Watcher in the Water from LOTR.
Edit: Eric just compared it to Moria hahaha
17:53 Lost a planet, the Empire has.
I've just noticed, Hunter has changed his headband, it's a darker red & the skull emblem is gone❤.
Love it when Star Wars does horror themed episodes!
Slither Vines could be an experiment made on "The Drengir" from the High Republic era?

Hey! You put some _respect_ on my man Jeremy Bulloch! If it wasn't for him, you wouldn't even _have_ Boba Fett!
Damn right
Eric was talking about Bodie Taylor, he did the portrayal of Fett for the in-between of Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan in Attack of the Clones.
My theory about the young clones is that they might be part of Omega’s squad in the future.
God this episode was so good. I was so worried that one of the kids were going to die, I'm so glad they're safe!

Maybe I've just been reading too much High Republic, but I wonder if the empire was trying to weaponize the Drengir. Probably a stretch.

The mutant sarlac is epic
6:52 Is this the first new canon instance where someone actually referred to an orbital bombardment as Base Delta Zero?

It almost reminds me of the thing that was in the trash compactor on the death Star. It's not the same but it reminds me of it
The Dianoga. Yes, I was hoping that is what it was in there but then the vines came out of the water and dashed my hopes. Still creepy as hell though.
