  • How do you build a strong culture if you run a remote team?
This is one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as we’ve scaled Self Publishing School to 20+ full-time team members over the last 4 years.
As much as it’s fun to be able to work from home…there are some serious challenges that come from only seeing the people you work with 2-4 times a year in person.
People like to poo poo on having a physical office…but it does make a lot of things easier when it comes to culture and team building.
In this video, I talk about “3 Ways To Build GREAT Culture On A Remote Team” (and when to switch to a physical office)
I’ve screwed a lot of things up and I feel like I’ve learned these lessons the hard way over the last few years.
Hope you find the video helpful! I’d love to hear how you build culture on your remote team.

LOVE this company and being a part of it! It's so clear you're intentional about building culture and one of the first things I boast about when telling people about my job :D

These have already come through so clearly as highly valued with SPS. I am thankful to be a part of an actual team. It speaks volumes that I've worked for a non profit that couldn't maintain the sense of cross-team camaraderie that we manage at SPS.
