This video convinced me to buy a Mustang III. I've already got a few tones I love and haven't really gotten very deep into it yet. I can't play like you, but this amp is inspiring. I've been playing a lot more since I bought it. Thanks!
I love my Mustang lll I haven't had the time yet to 'DEEP EDIT' the thing it gets thrown in the van and gigged!! the Deluxe model is great with comp and delay super tones and outstanding value
Thanks for your vids on these Mustang amps, I have really learned from them. Have the Mustang III and it has been love at first hearing. Very impressed by the amp models and the effects, one can create their own sound and there are many tones to choose from. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your playing.
Great videos. I enjoy watching all your videos and always look forward to the latest videos posted by you. I had the Mustang III V1 and upgraded to the V2. They do sound great and videos of other guitarists using these amps are very helpful in dialing in sounds that perhaps we might have overlooked. Keep up the great work buddy! "Cheers"
Great demo, I really enjoy the Mustang videos. My favorite model is the basic 65 Deluxe reverb with the green stomp box on level 5.8 & gain 6.2, sounds incredible.
Hey Shane, i've been looking to buy a new amp recently and discovered your videos while doing some research. I was initially thinking of getting a Vox VT80+ but then i watched about a dozen of your videos demonstrating the Fender Mustangs! Man, you make those amps sing! I'm definitely getting either the 3 or the 4 (can't decide which yet) and i can only hope that it sounds as good when i play through it! Thanks for the informative and passionate reviews and for your tasteful playing. It's inspiring.
had many amps thru the last 35 years.just got a mustang v on a trade.........awesome is all I can say.........no more guessing the tone is phenomonal,,,.INMHO..........OF COURSE.Great vids.no bull down to earth like it is.TKS a mil!.CHEERS
This is vid is 6 years old but I subscribe and follow the channel. Fender discontinued the software fuse and no future successor. could you shed some light on that? you seem to have friends at fender :)...thank you!!!
Shane, stuff like this is SO helpful - I am try to decide DDRI, Supersonic 22, or Mutang III. I mean I know the DDRI and SS22 are tube and all, I get it. But at the price point (and knowing I own a BillM modded Blues Jr), the Mustang III might just be a reasonable option. AND.... a video like this is really helpful. Thanks :-)
I think that most of them sounded really good. There were a few that had some unfriendly overtones, but not to the point of bad or unusable... just not quite as sweet as the rest of them. Considering the functionality / features (USB I/O -recording or tweaking + pedals + tuner, etc..) and the quality of the models these Mustangs could well be the best bang for buck amps in the history of music. That sounds like a brash statement, but when you think it over its really not.
I've seen these mustang amps at some of the local music stores, thought bout getting 1 but was unsure. but from the settings u played with it seems good. I'm leaning to a more positive impression on them.
Thanks you do a real public er.. Enthusiast's service. A thing worth noting if I may is the solid state amp has better fidelity and as such the tone of a guitar or lack of will be evident. That tele sounds great. It would sound great if you listen to it unplugged. You need a great sounding guitar to get a great tone the amp is half of the sound. Stevie Ray Vaughn's number one is a perfect example of what I mean. A person might find out they have a dead sounding guitar when they have been blaming the amp. The mustang is a good choice for comparing guitars. LISTEN to a guitar unplugged before you plug it in, if it sounds dead unplugged it will be dead amped, you can use this method to find a great sounding Axe without being blinded by price or glamour.
One more reason to just setup your first 5 to 10 favorite amp models on the Mustang to the first 5-10 presets and then just turn the physical amp dials as needed (assuming you wont have laptop when gigging or practicing with friends)
WOW! I bought the Mustang 3 from your recommendation and found it to be more than what I need. I thought I needed an effects pedal and didn't really realize the amp does everything for me. I loaded the computer with the amp and WOW more stuff to get into. It's so much. I saved over some good modular channels, is there a way I can reset everything?
Does the astonishment wear off after time and you return back to tubes and pedals? Or is this really that good? I run a blues jr and marshall DSL 40c on stage seperately although not as happy with the marshall as I thought, may keep it any way just cause I paid to much for what it is, or just trade it in and go ss.
Is there a way to run to the mixing desk in mono out of the XLR outputs? I am allowed one channel in the PA... I have not seen where you can pick one of the XLR outputs and assign it to mono... Any thoughts?
Hey Shane I also have a mustang IV. Just wondering how you're capturing your guitar sound for these video? Do you have an interface a mic? Great video!
Hmm. I try to use virtual compressor AND overdrive at the same time put it s impossible. It s one or the other.. i think after all this time fender should update his fuse. It could be a great program. I think if you want better program we have to change brand. But i like my little mustang 1 v2..
I have the original Mustang III, and although it has great tones, it has that underlying "fizz" sound on almost all settings. This is obviously granular noise from the A/D converter or something in the digital processing. I wonder however if Fender fixed this in the V2 model?
Great demonstration! I'm very interested in that combo but there's one thing i would like to know, is there a pure clean tone available on that amp? Because sometimes i want my multieffects to emulate the amps, so if the mustang emulates an amp too on top of it, it will mess up the sound. In the amp menu, the very first setting i can see is "studio preamp", could that be the pure clean tone i'm talking about?
Jee Couss "the very first setting i can see is "studio preamp", could that be the pure clean tone i'm talking about?" yes. notelr.com/roheylivne/The-Definitive-Fender-FUSE-List
i just got the mustang iv v2 150w version. i don't know if i can do so safely, so I'm afraid to try it, but is it okay for me to use this combo amp as my attack head? i would be attaching it to an engl 412 240w thank you for the help of possible. i look in the back panel of the fender, and it doesn't mention specifically (like the Line6 spider combos do) speaker cable input... i.e 8/16 ohm
Ok I've been really wanting to get one of these amps I have like 5 guitar pedals I really like to use. Would this amp still be a good choice for me? Or what would be a better solid state amp choice for me a champion 100 or what?
Hi there Shane! Nice video and nice playing as well man! I'm from Brazil and I'm a huge fan of your videos. Let me ask you something...In this video are you using what kind of distortion? The greenbox,orangebox...? Thank's anyway!
Does anyone know the differences between v1 and v2 of the mustang 1 (20 watt) and If I will still be able to use the fuse software with a used amp? Thanks
much better review cause we got to hear other amps be nice if you play some well known songs to relate but I see you are a blue player try thrill is gone thanks for time on demo
Yes, you can decide which amp model you want. the software is only an easier on screen way to go through the same settings that you can do from the amp too. :)
This video convinced me to buy a Mustang III. I've already got a few tones I love and haven't really gotten very deep into it yet. I can't play like you, but this amp is inspiring. I've been playing a lot more since I bought it. Thanks!
This is the best demo of the models on this amp! I'm still torn between this and the Blackstar ID series though...Thanks man and peace.
I love my Mustang lll I haven't had the time yet to 'DEEP EDIT' the thing it gets thrown in the van and gigged!! the Deluxe model is great with comp and delay super tones and outstanding value
The good thing is, they are easy to get a good sound out of. If you don't need to tweak much, it's a good sign :)

I have to say that im extremely impressed by the sounds, didn't expect them to be so great! thanks for this demo!

The best review of the amp I have seen. Thanks.

Great job Shane! I bet that this video becomes one of your most popular ones.
Thanks for the nice comments Lorenzo :) cheers mate
sounds awesome- I just managed to order one of the last new Mustang 3's in Canada !
That Princeton model sounded great !
Wow, they nail the deluxe reverb right off. Great demo man. :)
:) thanks mate cheers!
anybody who can make an orange sound good like that is ok in my book. great demo. my personal favorite is the vox
Shane, you are a Heavy Metal player!!! Hair long and Headbanging!
HI BLUESMAN !! YOU ARE THE BEST ON YOU TUBE !!
I love the sound starting at 1:53 Shane. Blues On....
This is vid is 6 years old but I subscribe and follow the channel. Fender discontinued the software fuse and no future successor. could you shed some light on that? you seem to have friends at fender :)...thank you!!!
You should demo the cab models as well ..... quite effective for quickly changing tonal character to suit different guitars.
thanks for a nice demo.

This is a great way to see the software in action... Excellent. Mustang III v2 coming next week... Chalk up another convert on your resume...
Thanks TJ! :) You'll love it mate, these things are great.

The Orange amp model sounded damn good.
Thanks Shane !
nice fender fuse
@TAKridge the British watts amp is a Hiwatt emulator.

Nice job but I'm missing the typical Fender 'belll like' clean tones. Are there any ?
Nice demo. I'm amazed that your guitar has little to no 50Hz hum pickup. How is that?
Does the astonishment wear off after time and you return back to tubes and pedals? Or is this really that good? I want the upgraded and new amps and effects of the III v2... I will find a way to use it... Thanks though..
IIts a nice amp from fender - but for a practice amp I like Blackstar ID core they sound better and are less expensive
Is it possible to save the newer amp models like the Orange on the amp or only fuse? I'm using the Mustang 1 v2. Great review!!!
Great, thanks.

Daniel Alfredo
That's good news! Thanks.

Hey Shane, how are you dealing with noise ?
What is the British Watts supposed to be? I can't seem to find a answer about this.
Definitely Hiwatt.
sounds good, jcm800 sound pretty similar
which modell is supposed to be the JCM800?
Ok I've been really wanting to get one of these amps I have like 5 guitar pedals I really like to use. Would this amp still be a good choice for me? Or what would be a better solid state amp choice for me a champion 100 or what?
That,s was a Orange end Hiwatt to!!!
What's that American 90's and Metal 2000 supossed to be in real?
Is one of them a Hughes & Kettner?
American 90's is Mesa Boogie. I'm not exactly sure what the Metal 2000 is sorry mate. :-)
Davide Messina intheblues
Okay thanks. And do you have any idea what the british watts and the 60's thrift are supposed to be?
Davide Messina
intheblues
Maybe the British Watts is supposed to be a Silvertone Amp and 60's thrift maybe for a HiWatt Stack? What would you think?
+2Phipps British Watts is the Hiwatt (Watts)
Hi there Shane! Nice video and nice playing as well man! I'm from Brazil and I'm a huge fan of your videos. Let me ask you something...In this video are you using what kind of distortion? The greenbox,orangebox...?
Thank's anyway!
shane...Have you ever thought of uploading your seeting to thefender fuse community so that we all can have your tone?
Search "intheblues" @ Fender Fuse : )
Yep, aLinux has it right :)
Does anyone know the differences between v1 and v2 of the mustang 1 (20 watt) and If I will still be able to use the fuse software with a used amp? Thanks
Mike Porcoro V1 is older and won't work with the majority of the V2 presets. The V2 has loads more options.
What's the 60s thrift supposed to mean ?
A Sears Silvertone amp
Can anyone pls help on this: Will this amp Work with an acoustic guitar ??
+Flemming Dohn Vognbjerg No it wont
Thanks Pal - Had a hunch about that, but thanks anyways.
Pe Peroni actually it can! You have a dedicated preamp-setting which is especially for this purposes
And acoustic simulator sounds too.
You need to explain what you are setting.
How dare you do a deluxe reverb and twin reverb without cranking the reverb itself. :) Surf man, think surf!!!!
+Blake Wright Haha i was thinking the same.
much better review cause we got to hear other amps be nice if you play some well known songs to relate but I see you are a blue player try thrill is gone thanks for time on demo
@TAke
"another metal player..." XD
Is it possible to save the newer amp models like the Orange on the amp or only fuse? I'm using the Mustang 1 v2. Great review!!!
Yes, you can decide which amp model you want. the software is only an easier on screen way to go through the same settings that you can do from the amp too. :)
By default the newer amp models are as a part of version 2 but not an option so to speak on the amp itself (selector switch). I'm using Mustang I ver2
Frank Philip Ah Mustang 1 sorry, I didn't see that. I am not too sure about how they work but it may require the USB connection.
