    Great video! Never knew that grouping an MG operator with an MG assistant in the same squad makes it so that the ammo gets automatically fed, really useful tidbit of information 👍

    Oh damn I didn't realize they had the recon ability. I wish they had that symbol on their icon.
    I do like the brandenburgers and they are very fun but early game I'm a little hesitant to take them because to get the most out of them I'm either spreading them out as recon spotters in bushes or I'm holding them on the far end of the map waiting for enemy arty or field guns to roll in. So for 20 pop cap it takes the place of another infantry squad that I might really need to defend my artillery or "screen" for my tanks/field guns.
    I'd recommend taking the upgraded halftrack (the one in the drilling line right before the flame halftrack) it has a belt mg42 on it that I'll either give to my brandenburgers or to my panzernests.
    Great video!

    Love my burgers.
    They sprint, they flank, they spot, they hide.
    They pump out lots of frags and suppressive fire with dual mg 42s.
    The only lack a bit in close quarter due to low hp regen and bolt action rifles, but they are still the best all around squad for Germany.
    Also much cheaper than the fallschmijager, I see no reason to pick the paratroopers over the chads from Brandenburg

    I think Blau division underated for conquest, tiny investment for elite infantry to tie you over until late game, has a gewehr or two as well. Only one mg though. Didnt know about the vision and speed of Brandens, very interesting

      They are the best early war inf but get outclassed tech wise by mid game. I love using them myself. Historically the Blue Division saw alot of it's more famous action in the earlier year or two of the Eastern Front so it makes sense for the game to put them as a strong "early game" style elite unit.

    haven´t played germany for a while now. But i used to combine the brandenburger with the Panzerschrek team. Felt a whole lot safer if a tank rolled around the corner. Only downside is that the AT team has lower stamina and health. So running across the map they always have to catch up.

    Useful review. I'm new to the game, and after testing out the pioneers, Gebirgsjäger, Großdeutschland, and the Jagers I've found the Brandenburgers to be the best German infantry of the five. Speaking as a noob, after seeing your vid I do think they're a little OP.
    Off tipic a bit... I do think it would be nice if the attributes of all the infantry types were a little more spread out. This may make it a harder choice when selecting them for a specific role, such as attack or defense, and encourage an infantry type's continued use later game. To better clarify, I've got a soft spot for the Gebirgsjäger, and if they had the recon attribute instead of the Brandenburgers I'd still be encouraged to use them.

    • @SkilledKill
      @SkilledKill 2 месяца назад

      You can still use them. Gerbigsjagers has different strengths and besides the recon ability Brandenburgers aren't purely better objectively. I love having a bunch of different type of german infantry spread. Jagers pioneers etc

    For me these guys are great for early to mid conquest for both attack and defense, but when it gets to late conquest these guys are perfect for defense split them into 2 squads with mg and mg assist to both squads and theyre enough for 2 trenches to hold one point then leave the attack missions for the fallschirmjägers

    I think it would be really cool if we could upgrade our squads as time goes on (same for vehicles). I feel like what is holding back basic rifles is that later in the game they dont get the mg42 or any panzerfausts/at grenadiers.
    I also feel they should try and add a bunch of variaty stuff, like tanks with passangers on the back, different squad loudout (1 research cost). Maybe they take some inspiration from multiplayer and make it scale in early-med-late, unlocking more units as time goes on, or allowing to upgrade stuff.
    I think this could add so much variaty to the game in general. Hope they bring more changes to conquest!

    The most fun elite infantry squad in the entire game is the soviet paratroopers. Has 0 bolt action rifles. Not a single one. Even the MG assistants have SVTs/AVTs. With these guys, I don't even THINK about looting anything. Can't dig in but who cares when you have 4 smgs, 2 mgs and bunch of grenades. Just keep advancing. NOT ONE STEP BACK.

      @@PuggoRebornChannel Looks like i will exchange the FSJ with the Brandenburger Squad. Not only because i live in Brandenburg (federal state) but also it fits my playstyle better. They are cheaper and i can rotate them a bit faster thanks to the speed. The wider field of view also helps me personally a lot.

  • @kylerees9242
    @kylerees9242 6 месяцев назад

    I'd say the motorized Auklaufer has better bang for your buck, they mightn't carry shovels or A.T. but there's nothing I can't steal from the battlefield, also charging armor with infantry is cringe when you can neutralize them with a pak or tank at range.
    Along with the free halftrack (for pulling field guns and infantry support) I really like squads with multiple mg gunners and ammo bearers, where at the end of the battle I'll trade the mg 34's to the ammo bearers so I can double my damage output; ammo costs to replace weapons is rather cheap I find.
    That and like the Brandenburger they're really cheap research wise, and I often get the unit day 1 along with a panzer II (on low resources). They mightn't be "elite" but with the right placement and patience they'll survive long enough to pay dividends.
    Edit: Do you also have an opinion as to what American infantry unit is best? I have a soft spot for the Veteran rifle squad with dual BAR's and starting veterancy. Also the infantry troop tree seems rather convoluted and far too expensive.

    Brand New Burgers

  • @yootoobnao
    @yootoobnao 6 месяцев назад

    Blau division are the best german infantry imo. 4 research points. They only have 1 mg34 (vs brandenburger's 2 mg42s) and they have a lot less grenades. This means their default inventory is very empty so if you give them all MG34/42s, you can load them up with so much ammo you only have to resupply them every 3-4 missions IF they have been in heavy combat. Their hp regen is WAY high so they just don't die (esp if dug in) unless they are hit with a mortar/artillery/tank. It's the only infantry I bother manually doing inventory management. 10 blau men dug in with mgs outperform every other elite infantry in the game. And in an offense mission, they are godly when they form your front line by proning and crawling forward to screen your guns/vehicles. Once again, no other infantry can match their survivability and your guns/vehicles do most of the killing anyway - so you just need good body bags right? Blau divisions are so good I usually prohibit it from my conquest games. Makes the game too easy. If you are min/maxing: 2 points for 7.5cm leIG + 4 points for blau mean you can have it from day 1. Their biggest flaw is that they don't run fast. They are a defense oriented infantry, so their gameplay isn't as fun.
    The biggest flaw with brandenburgers is that their gun loadout kind of sux. Too many bolt action rifles. They are an offense based unit and many will likely die in each battle (so that kinda rules out looting equips). Their saving grace is that they have lots of grenades. If you want an offensive infantry, it is a LOT more fun if you run falschirms, smg infantry or pioneers because of the better default gun loadouts.
    Extra Tip: when you give a blau unit a shiny new MG34/42, make sure to move his original kar98 into the other inventory before putting it back. This makes the primary default weapon of that unit the MG rather than the rifle. So you won't ever have to worry about changing their equipped weapon - they will use their MG until they run out of ammo before switching to rifles.

    • @PuggoRebornChannel
      @PuggoRebornChannel  6 месяцев назад

      Based on what you said, couldn't you do the same with Brandenburger that you do with Blau? They have plenty of space and come with better equipment, excuding more karabiners. Your assessment hinges on giving Blau squad more equipment, but the brandenburger has .3 better speed, stealth, and vision. I do like the health regen, but that's what I see going for Blau. Let me know what I'm missing.
      P.S. I started a campaign last night and played 3 missions with them. I really like them, but I wanna pick your brain about it

    • @yootoobnao
      @yootoobnao 5 месяцев назад

      @@PuggoRebornChannel while you can still do it with brandenburgers, it requires more micro because brandies have nades and stuff (eg throwing knife).
      So while you can load up a fresh Blau with a new MG + 6 ammo belts, you'll get a MG + 2 ammo for a fresh brandy. Knives and nades come back when you resupply them at the loadout screen. So if you want to upkeep high MG ammo count, you will need to refill them at the end of every mission so that they don't get refilled on their default gear. Blaus don't have stuff by default so that is all free real estate and you can restock on mg ammo every 3 missions no problems.
      Having free real estate also means that the initial micro is EASIER. For brandies, you would need to look at each man's inventory and remove the stuff you don't want. For blaus, just keep them in a full squad and go to the nearest tank to get your fill then: separate a SINGLE belt ammo then right click it (to autosort someone's inventory). Right click again to fill that ammo up then separate another single ammo and right click it. Do it until you can no longer move a single ammo into the squad inventory. Micro is complete. Everyone has maximized ammo loadout. You didn't need to look at any individual man's inventory even once.
      Brandies speed is the BEST thing going for it and it makes them so much better than blaus if you are looking for offensive infantry. The extra vision is nice but isn't necessary when holding the front line (standard vision is enough). The stealth is so-so if you aren't scouting with more than 1 man per squad and you WANT your front line infantry to be spotted and shot at (reveals the enemy guns).
      And when I play, I usually don't re-equip any of my infantry (too much micro). You just need high HP bodies so you can use medkits before they die. All the kills will be done by the panzer 4, brumbar, drilling, tiger, pak40, flak 36 and whatever else you've got placed well behind your infantry line. This is a bit harder to apply for the new liberation maps because there are a lot of sight line challenges, but the principle still holds very true.
      My experience with vsing ai in this game has been: if you are good at using your infantry to screen your valuable assets, you can add on all sorts of extra challenges and still perform very well. You can play 0 tanks, 0 vehicles, limited troops, conquest enhanced mod, whatever else but as long as you keep playing around your most valuable asset/s, you will likely win (and quite easily at that). Infantry is the least valuable asset so you will be using it the MOST to protect your valuables. Feel free to use them as bait, and if you can ensure they survive while doing it, you will be getting super high value.

    • @PuggoRebornChannel
      @PuggoRebornChannel  6 месяцев назад +1

      If you press "I" and then double-click the case of ammo, it will create the drum for your MG. The game naturally does this without you seeing it. Personally, I have never had this issue. I'll have to double-check the ammo now just in case

    I love the unit diversity of the Pioneer squad. American squads also tend to have a lot of specialized units organic to it. IMO, they need to re-do some German/Russian infantry to be on par with the Americans in that respect.
    For example, the Russians have a squad with 7 guys. half smg and half flamethrower. Neither weapon is optimal for long range, and I don't need 3-4 flamethrowers, 1 is enough. Meanwhile some American squads have (a) flamethower or grenade launcher and (b) maybe even a bazooka.

    • @PuggoRebornChannel
      @PuggoRebornChannel  6 месяцев назад

      Groɓdeutchland units are in the in-between. Weapon Proficiency is above elite, but their HP, Stam, Regen, and speed aren't. I could be wrong about speed, but they're in a league of their own. I'm not sure how to evaluate them bc their equipment isn't great. MG-34s and fewer grenades per unit. They do come with 12 units, but to field them, it's 28 unit cap. Very hefty price for odd, low-tech, elite units.
      The Blau Division dead-ends, but it might be worth a video. I honestly didn't know they were as good as they are. Glad I checked them out. Could have sworn they were worse
