Being the first person on the Isle of Wight, England to own an i30N ( bought mine nearly 6 years ago), I have seen the popularity of these incredible cars just go through the roof. Now with the new ioniq5 N , I am wondering who is going to beat me to the showrooms to purchase this fantastic car.
are you particularly a fan of SUVs on dropped springs with a 2200-2400 kgs in weight and the size of a bmw x3?, because, honestly, I don't understand the hype; since when SUVs pass as driver's cars?

I am also not a fan of EVs either, what I am a big fan of though is the Hyundai N brand and the fact that they have put a virtual gearbox plus simulated engine noise into this car does really excite me. I just hope it lives up to all the hype.

what is compelling?, the bmw x3 size?, the 2200-2400 kgs weight?, or the fact that all of the driving part is a simulation, having some guys with their laptops programming the way the vehicle goes around corners, having zero mechanical input, just an algorithm that decides how fast or how slow the electric engine will turn the wheels. Please, do tell where is the compelling part?!

This is probably the evolution from their goal to make EVs fun to drive. Maybe to enthusiasts, driving an EV (though quick) is like watching a silent movie. Maybe this will bring enthusiast to jump into EVs just like Apple utilized skeuomorphism to ease people into iPhone’s touch UI. Is it gimmicky? Absolutely… but is it fun? We’ll see
only Hyundai can understand the complaints of car consumers, because so far what we have complained about from electric cars is the sound of speeding cars, because the adrenaline in driving a fast car is not only from the speed of the car but the sensation of the sound of a speeding car is very much needed.
Years ago i sent a tweet to Elon, encouraging him to create a sounds for Tesla. But of course I never got any reply coz I'm no body. Fast forward today I saw a cool implementation of artificial sounds on EV by Hyundai somehow it just makes me happy. Dodge also implementing this to their new muscle car but so far only Hyundai that shows how its done. Most of petrol head might be sceptical and said that this just a fake sounds, but no matter what they said this thing pretty sure will become a standard, a benchmark for other manufacturer. The future is coming with or without you. Congratulations Hyundai for such a brilliant achievement and really cool EV car that set a high bar! ❤

Car makers should do something like what AngeTheGreat (on RUclips) did where he made an Engine Simulator. He could literally make any engine with sounds, horsepower and torque number, etc.
I always imagine how an electric motor would sound and the evolution sounds just like how I imagine it. Was disappointed with how quiet when the EVs first came out.
Interview and lens teleprompter do not mix. This feels so awkward for a lot of reasons. But the main reason is the interviewee reading as they stare at us in the lens. In a normal interview the interviewee (and most of the then interviewer) would never look into the lens.
Japanese manufacturers have to worry, because lately Hyundai and Kia products have started to dominate the western hemisphere and even in Southeast Asia, Hyundai cars are already busy, especially the PALISADE.
I was very surpriced when I saw Honda Civic type R had problems to cooling down engine on the track in the first round! But Hyundai I30N was far superior. I mean in stock settings of course. That's really game changer for me. Now I have no doubts about division N capabilities.

all good and sound(pun intended) but there is no hiding on the weight(probably 2-2.5 tons) and size of this ioniq 5 n(it is the size of a bmw x3); making it with 650 to compensate make the non driving, non enthusiastic drivers happy but, as every real driver knows, size and weight matters a lot when we talk about sports driving and sports cars in general. Try to brake and then turn a 1200 kgs vehicle and then try to do the same thing in an SUV with 2400 kgs of weight. No matter how trick the suspension are, how powerfull the motors are, how grippy the tires are... weight cannot be hidden. Has anyone seen a rhinoceros making a sharp turn as a cheetah can?, I guarantee no one saw this and it will never bee seen.. as the law of physic do matter and cannot be overcome regardless of how many hp the engineering team throw at the wheels. Having said that.. it looks like a legit performance EV... but a sports car.. so sorry but, it is not!
It's on par with an RS7 power and weight wise. And probably roomier interior wise. It's not an SUV and CG a lot better. But true it is a big car overall. There is the original Tesla roadster, besides that also waiting for the first light-ish sports EV car.
@@onehp2559it is not an SUV per se, but it dimensions are very similar(if anything, a little longer) with an X3; the fact that it sits lower to the ground does not masked its massiveness. If they'd made one at 1600 kgs, I would have apauded with my feet as well, not just my hands; at 2.2+tons.. it will feel very heavy on mountain passes or back driving roads.

What is your point in that? Cars are more heavier even not EV, so why bother? It only needs better suspension, brakes and systems. Only downside is it’s still a Hyundai. I have 2 i30’s and my experience is they are poorly designed, with cheap materials that don’t last. And the customer service is absolutely woeful. My vehicles I would almost classify as lemons. I would never pay money for a Hyundai again. But each to his own. I too thought they were wonderful when I drove them of the lot feeling great about my purchase. If I can save anyone from the real Hyundai experience, great.
