I’ve never heard any of these records but have a feeling I would probably like them. Thanks for this. The weather not quite so good here in the north east. Sadly it’s wet but the colour of the trees is wonderful this weekend.
Thanks John I definitely reccomend December and Autumn by George Winston and Michael Hedges, particularly Aerial Boundaries or his debut Breakfast in the Field. sorry to hear about the weather where you are..if it makes you feel any better it's clouded over here now and we're going to get rain soon!!.
Hi Rob. I love autumn and autumn music. I've heard you talk a lot about the Windham Hill label, I must look out for some of their releases. As much as I love autumn, it does make for a lot of work raking leaves.
Windham Hill really put out a ton of albums. Very peaceful stuff. I use to have a lot by them. Got into them due to Mannheim Steamroller, before they did only Xmas music
hi Rob , I started like many with Aerial Boundaries and then December , also have a couple of the great sampler CD’s. Picked up Michael Manring Unusual Weather on vinyl v cheap a while ago, he’s a fretless bass genius who plays gorgeous lines on the cover of After The Goldrush.
Hi Rob, I've seen you show the label over the years and the covers typically look inviting. I realise do have the three George Winston albums you showed on CD but not played them for years and I've heard nothing else. I probably should revisit the Winston albums when they are in season. Cheers Dale
These are the sort of records I'd have been sniffy about in my youth but would appreciate more now. There were a couple of them at Kendal yesterday, but didn't pick them up. If there's ever anything from the label that you'd like me to keep an eye out for at the fairs just let me know. Seems like you're getting the better of the weather - it's been cold and miserable here - though thankfully we did miss most of the worst of the recent storms so can't really complain.
I have a lot of them after finding two in my wife’s old records. Used to find them super cheap here in the States and in great condition. Many are audiophile quality imo.
Hi Rob, I have to admit I’m not familiar with any of those albums! They do sound interesting tho, and some really nice covers there too. I was just thinking the other day when I played a particular album that it really reminds me of winter. The album was ‘Ashes and Fire’ by Ryan Adams, and it’s a great album. I think I bought it in November 2011 or something like that, but other than that I’m not sure there’s a real connection to winter, so maybe it’s just a personal thing. Interesting how you associate music with different things isn’t it. Cheers mate
Thanks Jamie I do like some of what I've heard of Ryan Adams, but didn't really know where to start with his catalogue..thanks for giving me a point of reference. Yes, there are some lovely titles in the Windham Hill back catalogue..cheap too!.
@@robison5396 I’ll be looking out for them now cheers pal! Yes I have most of Ryan Adams’ albums. ‘Ashes & Fire’ is certainly a good starting point, and ‘Gold’ might be even better.
Don't know much about this label so a brief but nice introduction though I prefer solo piano to guitar. Do I call this new age or that a bit unfair? Suffice to say atmospheric/ambient music I am partial to so perhaps I'll grow into it with some experience you've exposed to me.
Hi Martin I think ' new age' was a term bandied around a lot in the 80s to describe any modern atmosphereric instrumental music..not sure if it has negative connotations, but I've heard people use that term in the past to describe music they found airy, nondescript or even boring.
Hi, nice video. Windham Hill are cheap and good sounding records. I own Scott Cossu-Islands and Shadowfax-ST. Check out if you don't know them. Greetings
Rob, I have a handful of Wyndham albums and really enjoy them. They are fall time records. Cheers.

Yeah, listening to music is definitely more satisfying than raking leaves!.
I actually rake leaves while listening to music! Did it to Led Zep 3 on Saturday, perfect.

That's a kind offer, will bear that in mind.

Yes, familiar with both, but don't own anything ( apart from samplers).
@@robison5396 Both good as hole albums. Thanks for replying.
