Hi Rob. Nearly bought a copy of Folk Club 2 last weekend, but I'm glad I didn't as I'd already got it! It's Volume 1 I want. Age and too many records results in duplicates in the collection too often 😂.
I'm a fan of Osibisa. Their first 2 are the best, but the ones immediately after those are good too.
Need to get Walls & Bridges back into the collection (don't remember what happened to my original copy). Decent album that doesn't get mentioned much.
Damn the Torpedoes along with Hard Promises are my favourite Petty albums.
Another Thompson - excellent - I need to get that one too.
And finally one of the top 3 live albums of all time. Shame those concerts were never filmed. I first saw Hawkwind in 1977, the only time I ever saw them with Robert Calvert at the helm.
    Have a great week...Pete

Perhaps there were more copies of that Folk Cub Vol 2 pressed?.
Yes, delighted with Space Ritual, so rare to see an OG in such great condition.
I should have said Walls & Bridges was Lennons' last album of original material until Double Fantasy ( he of course did Rock N Roll album of covers in '75 I think).
Thanks for watching and commenting Pete.
      Have a great week.

Hi Rob great too see Birds of Fire which is indeed very ‘fiery’ , my favourite of the Mahavishnu releases, great writing and playing . Currently few days in Berlin and hoping to get some German Prog/ Kraut .

Hi Rob, shame the container wasn't more successful but the three albums you did get looked nice and clean. I've seent he Richard Thompson soundtrack shown a few times but haven't picked it up. Lovely looking copy of Space Ritual, which are rare in minty condition. I got a big pile of fairly rough records from the boot sale this morning so have been cleaning them today and trying to salvage something decent from them. Cheers Dale

Hi Dale ..Yeah, it was a little dissapointing, but great fun going through them.
Some of those soundtracks could have been half decent, I was just unfamiliar with them.
Looking forward to seeing what you picked up at the boot fair.

Hola Rob. Some quite obscure finds. Have never come across Denny Doherty before. Very unglamorous bathtub cover photo! I do remember Ashton Gardner & Dyke though from school days but always assumed they were American. Was their hit ‘Resurrection Shuffle’?
Congrats on finding that first press Space Ritual. I saw Hawkwind on Friday night at Newcastle City Hall. Dave Brock’s still cutting it at 82!
    Take care, John.

Ah John, it's many years since I've seen Hawkwind, but Dave Brock still bangs that drum and gawd bless 'im!..I take it there's still no naked dancers?..Ressurection Shuffle..thank you!.. I was hoping someone would jog my memory there .
Yes, delighted to find a keeper copy of Space Ritual..I just need Doremi Fasol Latido ..I found a copy at the Stratford fair with the original Foil cover in nice condition but the vinyl was a bit ropey..so I left it..oh well, you can't win them all!.
      Cheers John.

@@robison5396 I’m after Doremi Fasol Latido too. Have never seen the cover in good shape. I’d be happy if it was reissued...No naked dancers with Hawkwind but stunning light show and projections.

This may come as a surprise but I’m a big fan of Obebisa Shocker. Good Tom Petty album, he grounded rock and roll music again as it was going in all sorts of crazy directions in the US in the mid 70s. Did you add a room to your house with all of these r3cords, wow Rob, you have been busy. LOVE that Replacement album, they were young loud and snotty but they began to mature with this album.

      Hi Steve
Osibisa are great, really funky and upbeat.
Love the Petty album, long overdue edition.
I like Let it Be, also their later period with All Shook Down, although that's a tough album to find here in the UK.

    Hello Rob,
I've got Denny Doherty's Whatcha Gonna Do. It's a rather nice album of country/folk rock, ably supported by some great session men. Produced by Bill Szymczyk, who would go on to great success producing the Eagles...So it's him we have to blame.
I generally dislike Beatles covers, but the mashup of Here Comes the Sun and The Two of Us is great fun. The title track and Still Can't Hear the Music are my favourites on the album.
I love Richard Thompson's soundtrack from Grizzly Man, and the film is great as well. I've got the CD, but it would be nice to have the record. Top find.
I've think I prefer the later, more sedate, Replacements. I was turned onto All Shook Down by Ryan Adams, who you can hear was heavily influenced by them. At least I can listen to them, I find it impossible to listen to Adams after the stories came out about his creepy and coercive behaviour with women.
    Cheers - Hedley

      Hi Hedley
Didn't know about Ryan Adams' ' creepiness'..I sometimes try to separate the person from the art, but it's not easy.
Yes, looking forward to spinning the Denny Doherty, it certainly looked interesting and was glad to pick up.
I don't think I want to listen to another Eagles song as long as I live!.
      All the best
      Rob

I really love Walls & Bridges, I think it's a great underrated album by Lennon. People knock it for having a more American sound than usual but I think it was a nice departure for him after the Spector years. Those first few Mahavishnu Orchestra albums are mad as hell but great listening. I've only heard Let It Be by The Replacements once, via streaming. I thought it was pretty good. Cheers Rob, James

Hola Roberto I'm not sure I have any wise or intelligent to add to your findings suffice to say it was the stories behind them that drew me in. Always, always arranging a viewing then a huge disappointment to see records stored horizontally for example or just a pile of crap 😅 at least your time consuming trawlings brought some nice memorable rewards and that's half of what it's about.
I'll use that phrase again 'there be ALOT of money in records' and 'they are coming back again'
I dread what condition the film posters were in in a moist lock up........

Yes, it was a little dissapointing there wasn't more, but it was fun sorting through them.
