The average player might play 1 game every 2-3 months while contending with work or school. People aren't changing games quickly anymore. Many are simply sticking with older reliable titles they know aren't disappointing with massive monetization schemes built in. This also means that game pass costing hundreds a year isn't feasible because they could outright buy the games if they are only switching every 2-3 months and selecting better value indie titles. The current trend of the industry is going to implode when there is a mass exodus from battle pass style games because players have caught on. It's already happened in several titles.

Filun fact: Black Desert Online was originally made as a PVPMMO. They changed to be more in line with a traditional MMORPG because there was a small group of PVP players while the larger group was just normal MMO players.
To this day BDO has one of the best combat systems ever. Plus if you like crafting and gathering it's a dream come true. The only problem was PVP but they made it so you can play PVE only now.

Forget about getting Suicide Squad for free, they'd have to pay *me* to get me to play it. Hell, Rocksteady would have to offer me a job just to get me to touch the game at all. Also, as much as I am interested in the next Bioshock game, where would the story go for that series? The story was essentially wrapped up in the third game. There's almost no where to go in exploring Rapture and it's history without the story doing something completely different.
My issue with Concord's presentation is that in the trailer, it doesn't look like a multiplayer PVP game, but a PVE game. Like, are they fighting each other for no reason? With Overwatch, everybody had their own story to be on one side vs the other.

And if you do a bit of math and calculate how much money you spent on GP, you'll realize you could have bought a nice library of games especially if you buy during sales or used games. To me GP is a completely unappealing service.

There was a video talking about GP and it mentioned one of the XB trailers, i think it was during the XB show case just recently which stated the game was on GP or something. Then weeks later MS mentioned about the new tiers. If that's true, then the trailer was somewhat misleading as the game wont exactly be on GP due to the new changes. I didn't watch the showcase, but the video that was going on about the new changes showed it.

Personally I don't mind the price increase too much for GP, yes it sucks when it happens but it's not as though it's a huge jump. I love sour candy (Sour Patch Kids are the best), but for some reason, with Sour Skittles, I feel like it leaves what feels like coconut flakes or something in my mouth. It's weird. I heard it was 20 for everyone to keep day 1 access (please stop playing the game of calling 9.99 9 bucks guys, always sad to hear poor financial literacy). Gamepass buys beware if you care about day 1 access.
IMO the service is dead, their games were barely worth the 10/month I'm definitely not paying these bilked prices.
