I have no idea about comparative capacity but a significant space in 9 volt batteries that use cylindrical cells is air, that does not contribute to capacity. The rectangular cells seem to make the best use of the available space. Big companies source their batteries from a lot of places and you may find that that construction varies within the same brand.
8:40 That construction of a stack of bricklet cells, sealed in that plastic encapsulation, seems better built against leaking than those composed of six AAAA cells?
I bet duracell or energizer probably owns or is licencing the Rayovac. Chemistry type, current rate, and total capacity matter more then how the cells are arranged internally to get you close to 9v..
Why would the Rayovac have a lower capacity if the its cells waste less space inside the 9v casing? (not to mention they look like naked cells without their own individual casing)
Surface Pro 3 stylus pens take AAAA batteries, so now I know that I can get these cells most easily by cracking apart an Energizer 9v. Previously I just purchased some Amazon AAAA batteries, as these are not easy to find.
I have an HP Spectre x360 (it's pen also uses AAAA batteries) I though the same thing that you did, and unfortunately the batteries that are supposedly AAAA in 9V batteries are actually just a little bit shorter that normal AAAAs. For the Spectre pen that meant that they didn't fit right. It might work on a Surface Pen though.
AAAAs from a Duracell 9V work just fine in my Surface Pro stylus. Yeah they're a bit shorter than store bought AAAA but the spring inside the stylus seems to be long enough to make up for the difference.
I tried open the plactic of rayovac battery inside its like some cloth or fibre and some kind of carbon thingy in it(dont actually know what they all called)
If 6 1.5 volt batteries equal 9volts in series doesn't 6 A batteries equal 9volts as well in series making a longer lasting 9volt for use in portable amplifiers like the fender mini tone master amp that would lengthen playing time. That's what I'm working in now. The amp came with 2 1 amp speakers that I have swapped for a 6 amp flat screen speaker that eats more juice.
Yeah, Bob Lazar says their good for powering Alien spacecraft too! Get the Energizers, more bang for your bunny! Oh Ohhh 😮 I hate batteries cause I have to change them 2-4 times a year in my smoke detector (one 9Volt only) Located in the garage attic. Heat killer for sure! Which brand of 9V do you recommend for the attic?Just went thru HEAT WAVE IN KANZA 100-113 degrees outside for 3 weeks, did not venture into attic until this morning after a 3” rain and 68 degrees. Please I’m desperate, as my wife keeps telling me the smoke alarm in the attic is chirping again! Dang it anyway!
If you can deal with the $6 + price, go to lithium primary cells, not rechargeable lithiums. Several are rated 1200 mah, a lot more than an alkaline and rated for a wide temperature range
my tablet stylus recent runnin out of aaaa battery and i was like totally screw nowhere to buy it LOL. btw.the orginal battery also say not for retail to add salt to the wound. so i search for easy way to get it. yeah , i am in macao and bought the energizer duracell around a total of six type of 9v battery, all are the layer type???. so i guess i have to place an order.
Owais Mahomed That's because until very recently the "9V Battery A/S" (owned by GP batteries) had a worldwide patent on making alkaline 9V batteries as a stack of rectangular cells, which allows more capacity (no empty space) for a lower price (assuming same build quality). In this video, the stacked construction happened to be represented by a brand the guy didn't like, but don't let that confuse you.
So you make no critical analysis other than to show construction. The welds mean nothing. The chemistry and materials is unkown to you, and will likely remain so, further inquiry would show a higher level of interest. So what does the $ 9-12 differnce of capacity vs price mean- you do not say, and why?
Just opened a Duracell 9v battery from costco and it was like the Rayovac battery

I took apart an Energizer 9v and it didn't have the AAAA cells it was made just like the Rayovac battery.
I think they switched to that construction method shortly after this video was made. Someone else brought that up in the comments before I believe.
Oww... I hope the battery I have has the cells.
Mine too
Very informative. Thank you for your time.
So it's true!
Just 6 1.5v batteries in series
They are all 6 cells in series. Just the mechanical layout varies
Fascinating! Thanks for sharing this
They are all (the aaaa batteries that are in these 9 volts) just too short and will not work in styluses in case you have that thought.
damn its so hard to find AAAA batteries
Or just shove in one of the spare contacts you now have from disassembling the 9v to bridge the gap.
The Rayovac looks like a 9 volt transistor radio battery I took apart as a kid in the 1960s.
Rayovac are good in a pinch, but don't leave them in you divices too long, because I have had many Rayovacs leak.
Duracell reputation for leakage is not great, either. Alkaline batteries in general are leakage prone.
@@jeffreydeutsch7336 you are right here is a video of what happened to me. ruclips.net/video/NCEfSh5hKQQ/видео.html
do you know what the materials inside of the rayovac battery stack are? i think one is zinc, is the other manganese?

Thanks for the tip. I'll stick to Amazon aaaa

Also the 9V i bought said 6LR61 in small print somewhere on the packaging, I do suppose that's alien code for 6 x LR61 cells
Can't you just shove in one of those extra contacts from the 9v disassembly to bridge the gap, though?
I think of Duracell when I think of the stereotypical battery
I tried open the plactic of rayovac battery inside its like some cloth or fibre and some kind of carbon thingy in it(dont actually know what they all called)

Disassembly starts at 2:40
Make sure no voltage in left in a 9V battery
An AAAA battery is used in hp stylus pens.

Try a better roof vent for your attic.....or wire your smoke detector for a remote battery location i a cooler spot.

Please don't disassemble any 9V battery.
"FOR A MOMENT I WILL TAKE EVERYTHING, YOU WILL HAVE ONLY BOOKS !!!!!"
Why not?
They would clearly say lithium on them though. And these don't

None of them are.
only alkaline 9v battery's have the 6 aaaa battery's in them.

I actually use 3 4a batteries in my streamlight and to buy those its crazy expensive but dirt cheap to rip out of a 9v ... stinkin rip off!!
Whoah. These are for $1 in my country. That's funny price
