Looking forward to the new look. I've been watching Dewey work his magic, it's gonna be great bro! Well you have to wait until it stops snowing of course.
Finally getting a chance to catch up on these. Stoked to see it come together! As others have also said, I agree. A bare swingarm has always looked so good to me. It looks incredibly clean. Can't beat the look of brushed aluminum. Just made some stainless steel radiator guards yesterday as I was out of aluminum to run on the CNC plasma so thought "shoot! Why not?!" Lol. Brushed it after I cleaned it up and deburred it and it looks sooo good! Only 1.5mm thick and is super strong and light!
@@korabeats_ that’s awesome! It doesn’t stay bare like though. It does look clean, but I had something else in mind for that real estate. You’ll have to stay tuned to see how it turns out! Appreciate you watching and commenting man!
Yooo brother glad to see you uploading ! I’m looking to get my first bike this spring, and I was looking at a DRZ 400sm. I’ve seen many of your other vids (like the kickstarter install), and it makes me excited to get a 400sm. I work at a heavy equipment rental store so I’m hoping that’s enough experience to start working on them!
@@alexgroezinger762 not sure yet. I’ve thought of a few combos. I think I’ll start with stock 15/41 SM gearing. See how it does. And make some videos comparing different gear combos. Might help some people out there figure out what could work for them!
@@boroggema49 man. Honestly I have a ton of different kinds from over the years. Craftsman, gearwrench, snap on, Pittsburgh, icon etc. I probably use the icon ones more than anything. I wouldn’t spend your entire check on something crazy. You could get a combo ratchet and socket set from Lowe’s and accomplish 90% is what you need! Good luck. And thanks for watching!
No sH!Te, you're gonna go ahead & do the wide gearing? That's just WISE to Do especially sense you are already doing to be pulling/cracking the case. This is the time/place to do it instead of doing at 2 different times. I know some can't pool the cash but if you do have the money, Smart Money says do it all in one swoop as you are. I'm here awaiting b/c this might be the way go, peace & GB ALL
Yes Link, I expect nothing less & if I had the choice between the DRz4 and your year/model, I'd go w/ yours & do the big bore/gear widening setup. IF one has the money to do the Big Bore & Gears, that would allow you to buy a used bike that had a bad engine for less bucks & then do it up. The parts you pull out of yours are probably a good set of parts but I digress ; I can't wait to see how this work flows. Take your time & do it well b/c I'm am thinking a lot of folks will be interested in both the case-cracking upgrades on this bike ?! peace/be safe man
I will do that. I'm unable to do all this work(no tools no know how) but these are the two upgrades that many serious DRz400 Owners would like for their bikes to have. You know the new bike failed to provide a bigger motor(CC's) nor did they put a 6th gear transmission. Those have to be the most wanted items on the bike. Anyhoo, I'll at least be able to tell a mechanic exactly what I want = and to Show Em'. See you guys soon.
