I think this is such a unique film. It starts out as a typical 80s war movie and then changes genre and becomes a horrific gore monster film that also happens to be an extraterrestrial! -OG
You wouldn't know it from the final product but filming Predator was a SLOG! Weather was rarely working with them, people were getting injured or sick including Schwarzenegger, the actor who played Billy was constantly getting in trouble on and off the set! But all the hard work and determination paid off and Predator still stands up as one of the greatest action/thriller/horror/survival films of all time! "Anytime..."😈
Look people can argue it if they want, but I think this is Arnold's best movie. I've seen Predator so many times. I've watched it at least once a year since I was 10, and it never gets old. There are a ton of great Arnold movies, but Predator is the one I come back to time and again. I think because it leaves so many unanswered questions it never really feels stale. Plus, this is pitch perfect 80s macho cheese. The lines are so cheesy, but the little boy in you still thinks they're bad ass. Me and my friends all still quote this movie at least once a month. It's just perfect.
"Get to the CHOPPA!" Because...someone has to say it. Anyway, after this and Terminator turning to comedy was one of the most brilliant career moves ever. The contrast is genius.
At the very end of the movie after the predator detonates his bomb the chopper pilot who looks down at the explosion is the guy who plays the Predator. The director felt bad because he was in the predator suit in the heat for so long and decided to give him an extra part in the film.
Fun facts, the black chopper pilot at the end is the actor who was in the predator suit. The predator image running towards Dillon was a clip used when Jean Claude Van Damme was the predator, but quit due to the heat. When Mac goes nuts he is singing the same song "Long Tall Sally" as Blaine was playing the chopper. If you notice, in the beginning, the predator uses the trees and is "invisible", this dynamic changes, when Dutch uses the Mud and then attacks from the tree. And the predator reacts just like the commandos, by shooting in every direction.
"You're hit, man. You're bleedin'." "I ain't got time to bleed." "Oh... okay." Fun Fact: Theatrical film debut of Jesse Ventura and Shane Black. Don't Drink It Fact: The Predator's (Kevin Peter Hall) blood - a goopy substance with the color of Mountain Dew - was made on-set using a mixture of the liquid from inside glow sticks and KY Jelly. Practical Joke Fact: Jesse Ventura was delighted to find out from the wardrobe department that his arms were one inch bigger than Arnold Schwarzenegger's. He suggested to Schwarzenegger that they measure arms, with the winner getting a bottle of champagne. Ventura lost, because Schwarzenegger had told the wardrobe department to tell Ventura that his arms were bigger. You're going to have to get up much earlier in the day to get one over a professional practical joker. Practical Effect Fact: The invisibility cloaking effect was achieved with a bright red suit (because it was the farthest opposite of the green of the jungle and the blue of the sky) the size of the Predator (Kevin Peter Hall). The red was removed with chroma key techniques, leaving an empty area. The take was then repeated without the actors using a 30% wider lens on the camera. When the two takes were combined optically, the jungle from the second take filled in the empty area. Because the second take was filmed with a wider lens, a vague outline of the alien could be seen with the background scenery bending around its shape.
I'm glad they don't reveal too much about the Predator in this movie. They say less is more. The less you know about the Predator, the scarier he becomes. But it's also twofold. Because we know so little about the Predator, the more we want to know more about what makes him tick! The perfect formula for a sequel! -OG
For me this is probably Arnold's best film in regards to overall acting, story and production, nothing I can put in the negative column for this one. That being said, it's not my favorite film he has done, but as far as checking all of the good film boxes go, Predator does that. This movie for sure was better than the sum of it's parts, as it was way better than it had any right to be(especially hearing about production issues it had) Total Recall is probably my favorite, but that movie has some not so perfect effects, and a few scenes come off a little janky, but overall an amazing film and story. T2 get's an honorable mention, as it falls in between these two amazing films, and is one of very few movies I saw 3x at the theater(as I almost never do that), as most films for me aren't worth one viewing.
MY #1 FAVORITE ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER! Originally Jean Claude Van Damme was hired to play the title character, but quit production as he grew tired of wearing the suit, which looked like a lizard/insect hybrid. Kevin Peter Hall, 1955-1991, was cast as the Predator as he was 7'2", making him more of an imposing figure against Arnold's character, Dutch. Half the cast and crew got good poisoning except for Arnold and Director John McTiernan, whom ate spaghetti O's and PBJ sandwiches as they didn't want to eat any of the food. They would eat protein bars instead, as no hot meals were allowed onset. The producers hired a bodyguard to protect people from Sonny Landham, 1941-2017, as he was prone to violent outbursts. Landham said in an interview that "it wasn't a movie, it was a survival story for all of us." It was 110° in the shade, while it was 42° in the shade. It rained for 2 weeks, making filming even more difficult. The scene where the stuntman falls off the cliff and into the water blew out his kneecap. Oscar Winning VFX artist Stan Winston designed the Predator suit and would later return to the franchise for PREDATOR 2 in 1990. The film was a box office success, making $100 million dollars ($360 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget. It was nominated for Best Visual Effects, but lost to InnerSpace. It has been considered as one of the best Sci-fi Action movies ever made.
Additional fun fact. You got to see Kevin Peter Hall (The Predator) for a few seconds out of costume at the end of the movie. He was the helicopter pilot.
Me too, as a kid. I was born in 1981. Last part I remember was the handshake. Fell asleep after that. Woke up when he was flying out on the chopper. That music was loud ASF, woke me up lol.
2 governors and 1 almost governor came out of this movie: Arnie, Jesse Ventura and Sonny Landham (RIP 2017). And I don't know if it's coincidence or not but the names Billy, Hawkins (the guy who died first), and Jim Hopper (one of the hanging skinned people), they're all in Stranger Things. If you haven't seen that show, DEFINITELY watch it.
This movie was the first and the only great Predator movie. On a scale of 1 to 10, with ten being the best, Predator is a 10, Predator 2 is a 6, Prey is a 5, and all of the others get a 1. John McTiernan directed this movie. He went on right after this to direct Die Hard (1988) and then The Hunt for Red October (1990). He also directed Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). In the early 2000's he ran into some problems involving illegal wire tapping, a messy divorce, and lying to the FBI. That killed his directing career for the most part. He hasn't direct a movie since 2003.

Here's a bit of trivia for you... Stan Winston who created the Predator creature suit for Kevin, he wanted them to be a race of really tall like Rastafarian Warrior's called the Yautja that live for the hunt and only hunt the most deadliest of prey such as Human's Aliens etc, cause that's how they command the most respect from their tribes back on their home world, whichever Yautja has the most skulls as trophies commands the most respect... now because of the Yautja's size and height they got a great actor called Kevin Peter Hall to play the Predator, you may of also seen Kevin play Harry the Bigfoot in the movie Harry and the Hendersons staring John Lithgow... well Kevin Peter Hall in bare feet without the suit on he was 7 foot 2, but with the Predator suit on and wearing the feet that added a couple of inches plus the Predator head itself being bigger and higher that Kevin was inside, it made Kevin Peter Hall around 7'5 to 7'6, and Arnold is only 6'2 and the scene where Kevin as the Predator grabs Arnold and slams him up against that rock by his throat to where you then see Arnold's feet dangling in the air as the Predator holds him there before dropping him just shows the utter size of Kevin when he played the Predator. Another piece of trivia for you is you know at the end when the Predator has blown itself up with it's self destruct weapon and you then see the choppa pilots and you see the black choppa pilot say... WHAT DA FUU...???... well that black choppa pilot is actually Kevin Peter Hall who also played the Predator, John McTiernan the Director of the movie Predator wanted Kevin to have a cameo appearance in the movie as a Human also as a thank you and a sign of respect for playing the Predator creature and for spending hours and hours in makeup and in the suit and not complaining once while in the suit for sweating and being able to barely breath and stuff while inside the Predator suit, John McTiernan the director said in an interview that Kevin was an absolute star and legend for never complaining once while in the Predator suit because it was so hot and sweaty in the jungle while shooting the movie on location. 😎👍
Oh please tell me you're gonna watch Prey next! In my opinion, it's the only other movie featuring the Predator that is as good as the original. Predator 2 was fine, but it leaned heavily on conservative (and frankly very racist) stereotypes of "gangs taking over Los Angeles", the kind of stuff that inspired Bill Clinton's disastrous crime bill with mandatory minimums. Predator 2 hilariously treats weed like it's meth or "bath salts." The movie "Predators" isn't bad, it's just kinda forgettable because there aren't any likable, memorable characters. Alien Vs Predator: the first one is silly fun, the second is just godawful. "The Predator" is awful. Prey on the other hand, is DEFINITELY worth watching, it's definitely the best "film" out of all of them, including the first. Even though it definitely isn't as fun as the first movie, it is the most compelling by far, and the most emotionally engaging.
Arnold dominated the action movies of the 80s. But it was never questioned who would win. Arnold was always so much bigger and stronger 💪 than his opponents. However, Predator was different. I actually questioned if Arnold would make it out alive when I originally watched this film. Of course, it helps to have 7' 3" tall Kevin Peter Hall to play the Predator for real intimidation! Kevin Peter Hall also played Bigfoot in Harry and the Henderson's. A fun family friendly movie. -OG
Please watch this😊 Das Boot / "the boat"(1982) Famous (German) warmovie There is also a series. Movie you should watch which took place before series and its Split into 6parts. So its different to the series and its like a miniseries.
Mac climbing the hill chanting, I'm gonna have me some fun sounds like he's losing it. But he's reciting the lyrics to the Little Richard song 🎵 played earlier in the chopper. It's his buddy Blain's song. Blain was into music 🎶. Hence, his MTV shirt. Mac had a score to settle with the Predator. -OG
The only Arnold 'tough guy' movie where his character actually shows some fear. Love this movie. And you might as well keep going so you can see the Predator fight the Alien. All fun movies!

Arnold was in the army in real life. The Predator was originally going to be played by Van Damn and look and sound completely different but he left and and real big black played the predator and they completley changed the look and sound. The guy playing Mac played with Arnold in Commando but was bad.
A demon in Hell is as strong as that thing and no human can beat that in Hell. Many demons are even stronger and have more super abilities. On earth Arnold beated that demon in a name of JESUS lol. In Hell theres no power of GOD, no GOD's people, so no one can beat those demons.
This was one of my favorite movies at a young age, so THANK YOU very much for reacting to it! 🥰 So much so that I actually recorded the entire thing on audio cassette (by placing the recorder next to the TV and letting the movie run), then playing it back on my walkman whenever I couldn't fall asleep. So, in a sense... the Predator "serenaded" me to sleep with his terrifying screams 😂 can you tell I'm a mega fan? lmao 😅 the other franchise I grew up on being "Alien" and now you know I'm a horror / Sci-Fi geek. Anyways; many people gave the 2nd movie some flak for being... "not as good" to put it lightly. I'd say: give it a fair chance. I enjoy it just as much as the original, if not even a little better.
I wanted to be a fire fighter but then decided not to because as a rookie you had to shave your moustache. I did made a link with bushy mustaches and older fire fighters. Must be because they made them shave. So I never pursued that career.
The part of the preditor is played by Kevin Peter Hall. He is also the helicopter pilot at the end of the film. They wanted the audience to see him. A great Arnold film. Your reaction was great. Y'all be safe.
24:00 Its not a small feat to take down a wild boar alone, with a knife. A few years ago ISIS militants stumbled upon a few boars and in tusk-to-AK combat killed more than one of them.
Here's a little interesting tidbit: The actor that played the helicopter pilot at the very end of the movie is the same actor that played The Predator.
This is simply one of the greatest 80s Sci Fi stories out there. When it came out, the looks of the pred's cammo had an amazing " did i just see that" effect on anyone watching and it's a double whammy in that regard that when you got to see it without the reflecting cammo it was even more futuristic.. and the face was so realistic. Plus the acting is great, story line.. lots of action & suspense. And it ages like French wine. I watch it at least once a year.. including part 2. Wich is just as great imo
Off the wall from this movie & genre but checkout "Higher Learning " (Ice Cube, Omar Epps, Tyra Banks, Michael Rappaport, Laurence Fishburne, Busta Rhymes, Regina King, Kristy Swanson, & etc)
Here in the UK this is on every year & I watched it every year from the time I was dressing up as Spider-Man in public with my parents actively reminding me to stay up. This was what we emulated playing outside when my illegal climbing faze was hitting it's peak. Hell a police officer asked me wth I was doing on top of my school & understood when I was taken home. Btw Arnold regretted much later on following up so. .

Predator 2 hilariously treats weed like it's meth or "bath salts."
The movie "Predators" isn't bad, it's just kinda forgettable because there aren't any likable, memorable characters.
-OG
Please watch this😊
Das Boot / "the boat"(1982)
Famous (German) warmovie
There is also a series.
Best soundtrack of all. There are more epic soundtracks. There are bigger, grander soundtracks. But there arent more fitting soundtracks.
Please Do Predator 2,You Will Definitely Love That One Forsure Guy's
Your channel is new to me so I did watch some reactions from you two to make sure that youre not acting like 90% of these "first time watching" channels who are... fake. Youre not, so I keep watching you! Another channel that aint a fake is Asia and Bj. I bet you know it :)
Arnold was in the army in real life. The Predator was originally going to be played by Van Damn and look and sound completely different but he left and and real big black played the predator and they completley changed the look and sound. The guy playing Mac played with Arnold in Commando but was bad.
First time? WHAT? Have you been living on a desert island or in a cave the whole time? OMG 🤣
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you reacting to the movie 'Prepator'. That's a good one as well!!! 😅
I have a funny feeling Kindergarten Cop might be your new favourite Arnold movie Devin 😅😅😅
Yall should check out the newest Predator movie called Prey(2022) its really good & I think yall would enjoy it.
At the beginning talking about the the Creed movie makes me think ya'll haven't watched any of the Rocky movies
Saw this in the theater when I was 19. It was my favorite movie ever for awhile. I thought it was the most badass thing I ever saw.
Arnold stated that he wanted 'manly men' for this movie. And, yet, they're playing LIttle Richard.
I wanted to be a fire fighter but then decided not to because as a rookie you had to shave your moustache. I did made a link with bushy mustaches and older fire fighters. Must be because they made them shave. So I never pursued that career.
2045 la méthode la 🤣 plus efficace pour fabriquer une clairière !!!!!😳😄🤣👍
15:58 Just put your hand back. Unless she's your Sister, then don't.
I’ve watched this movie as much as big trouble in little China. That speaks volumes
Devin has never seen (Kindergarten Cop) or (True Lies)???? 🤯🤯🤯🤯
The reason Billy's aware of the predator hunting them is he hears the predator copying his laugh after Hawkins joke
Pls watch Alien vs Predator movie. I lovs❤🎉🎉 your reaction
Y’all should watch the rocky movies then creed movies
Fyi carl weather's played appollo creeed in the Rocky series,he also played action Jackson.
Another great reaction! I really enjoyed it. I'm still really looking forward to when you're doing "The Bourne Ultimatum". :)
ALL WE WANT IS BAD BOYS 2 and LIFE WITH MARTIN LAWRENCE EDDIE MURPHY
You did a good cut there....but you cut out "if it bleeds, we can kill it," which is the halftime turn of the movie.
Billy cut himself to deny the predator the chance to draw first blood.
dude the audio is much better, no damned echo.
Only movie to have two US Governors star in it.
Predator is hands down better than Terminator IMO. This movie was ahead of its time
Awesome reaction. You guys need to do the rest of them. Not for the actors but for the predator alone. The newest one prey is amazing
Here's a little interesting tidbit: The actor that played the helicopter pilot at the very end of the movie is the same actor that played The Predator.
yes lemme watch this by myself foor one channel. then watch it again with my girl on another channel. great...
Thanks for the recommendation
You guys would love True Lies. Another Arnie classic.
Thanks for the recommendation
@@snackandreactWHERE IS BAD BOYS 2 🤞🏾🤦🏽♂️💔
Here in the UK this is on every year & I watched it every year from the time I was dressing up as Spider-Man in public with my parents actively reminding me to stay up. This was what we emulated playing outside when my illegal climbing faze was hitting it's peak. Hell a police officer asked me wth I was doing on top of my school & understood when I was taken home. Btw Arnold regretted much later on following up so. .
Good reaction do another Arnold classic End of Days 1999 😉
Can't believe no one has mentioned this - Arnold and Jesse Ventura - both became Governors. Arnie in California and Jesse *The Body* Ventura (Former pro wrestler) of Minnesota.
Hope you to are feeling good u to are beautiful hope you to have a good new year
Terminator 2, Total Recall and Running Man were better.
Just wait till this earth feels God's wrath. it's a coming
Love your reactions. Happy for you both❤
You look like you've been snacking on push-ups and weights. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Don't forget Carl Withers is also in Happy Gilmore 😂😂😂
Para véi! Tocava aqui dentro com Adam Sandler não sabia isso
I keep a minigun to ensure home security.
you have to do part 2 now and part 3 lololol before it fall off
Smashing the like button seems a bit extreme. I don't want to break my keyboard. Can I just press it?
Yes that is acceptable as well! 🤣
I’m so glad I found y’all’s channel
