No, that name was something made up for the “extended universe” that only exists in novels and comics. They are never called, or given, that name in the movies. They are called Predators; just Predators, because humanity can think of no other way to define them. That same nonsense happened with Alien. The word xenomorph was used one time, solely as code word, and everybody latched onto that thinking that’s what those creatures were called. It persists to this day, helped by novels and comics, while having never been their name in the movies. They are called Aliens; just Aliens, because humanity can think of no other way to define them.
@@TeenTyrantthank you ! Glad I’m not the only one that keeps pointing it out. The AVP crossover only came during the long term absence of movies in both franchises. Until predators was released, the past predator movie at the time was in 1990, and the last alien movie at the time was 1992. The best predator movie since predator and predator 2 is prey.
@markwebster7435 Predators from 2011 was decent. Not great but decent, it would’ve been better without the bigger predators. If they wanted to do a rival clan between predators they didn’t need roided up preds. It was tacky and too much. Less is more. Prey was a bit too on the nose with the female empowerment. Ok a few non spoilers to help you out, it will make more sense the more of the predator(s) you see. Predators are a warrior society, they pride themselves on being able to hunt and kill anything they come across. They travel the universe searching and hunting the most dangerous species. They do this to make themselves better hunters, and like any hunter they take trophies of their kills. Taking a human skull is no different to mounting a deer head on your wall. That being said, they have a code of honor, fair fights only. If your armed, their armed, if your unarmed their unarmed. You will notice how he had Arnold pinned a number of times but didn't kill him, this is because he wasnt a threat and it wasnt a fair fight. They have respect for those that can beat them, they take what they have learned, adapt, then come back and try again until they can beat you with ease before moving on. The lore can be a little Shakey at times but ultimately its about being a better hunter and improving. An unpopular opinion is that technically Arnold cheated, the predator wanted a one on one fair fight unarmed towards they end, but Arnold only managed to beat him with a trap, and therefore wasnt honorable, hence the attempt to kill him with the explosion. You will find throughout your predator journey that those who fight fair are respected and sometimes honored with gifts. Its not particularly well explained but if you keep these points in mind it makes way more sense :)
The scene where they're lighting up the jungle trying to hit the Predator is so dope. They don't know who or what they're shooting at, they just know their boy saw something and starting shooting, and they trusted that he had a legitimate reason. That's a real squad.
Arnold dominated the action movies of the 80s. But he was always so much bigger and stronger 💪 than his opponents. There wasn't much question if Arnold would win in the end. However, this film was quite different. For a moment, it didn't look like our hero, Arnold, would even make it out alive! Of course, it helps to have a 7' 3" tall actor to play the Predator for intimidation. The late Kevin Peter Hall also played Bigfoot in Harry and the Henderson's! You should check it out! -OG

You were wondering what the Predator did with the bodies, and there's basically a list of what they do, based on how worthy the prey was. If the body is just hung in a tree, not skinned, that means you're food. You weren't a good hunt, so you're just food. When the bodies are skinned and hung, they're basically a warning and territory marker. If you continue past that point, you're accepting the challenge that something is there that will hunt you. When the Predator collects the skull and spine from the body, that means you were a worthy opponent and he's adding you to the collection, about the highest honor they can show an opponent. One thing to keep in mind is that, with the release of the movie Prey, the Alien vs Predator movies are no longer cannon to the Predator franchise. This is because AvP claims that the predators had to have found earth over 10,000 years ago, whereas Prey specifically states that it's the Predator species first time finding and hunting on Earth, and its set in the early 1800s. However, Prey does not remove the aspect that the Predator has hunted the Xenomorph before, as you'll see in Predator 2.
It's never stated as far as I am aware that prey is the first time the predators come to earth. It is the feral predators first time on earth but not the first time predators have been to earth. In the movie predators there are plants from other worlds on the game world. One of these plants is from earth but has been extinct for around the same time as the dinosaurs. This implies that the predators were on earth over 65 million years ago when the plant still existed.

Based on that, it's set up to literally go both ways. You can either have the standalone Predator series, or the mixed universe series and have both be accurate. Additionally, the director of the just released Alien: Romulus said that he wants to co-direct a new Alien vs Predator movie with the director of Prey.
Arnold Schwarzenegger preceded this with Commando and Raw Deal, then followed this up with The Running Man. This has the same composer as Back To The Future. Nice Adidas shirt by the way...and I'm glad you did not give this a 5 out of 10 like you did to Aliens...

Mano esse cara ja assistiu o filme. So podemos confiar na reação da mulher.
Predator > Every movie every made...................................................except Big Trouble in Little China
Snoopers Gonna Snoop if both of y'all Love 💞 Birds 🕊 thought the Wilderness Predator in this Original Classic (who only has a Shoulder Mounted Cannon (an extremely/very Advanced Gun), a Medical Kit, Wrist Blade & Infrared Thermal Vision) was a completely total badass then wait till both of y'all get a load of the Concrete Jungle/Urban Jungle/City Predator (who has so many/much more Options at their disposal very Batmanish in a way) in the Sequel (Predator II 1990) sometime!
Also a fun carl weathers movie to check out action jackson
Если ты за русских,то продолжай это дело.Мы вас поддержим.
hey guys. Predator, Aliens and Blader Runner share one universe :)
The guy who played Predator was a black dude. He was married to the actress who played Rose on the 227 sitcom back in the day.
3:40 - INTERESTING FACT - Jean-Claude Van Damme was the original predator but the movie makers were mad at him because he was doing martial arts and kept shouting to him, "he's an alien! He doesn't fucking know martial arts!" 😂😂😂 it's a good job they changed because I believe the Predator wouldn't be half as intimidating if he was 5 foot 9! 😂😂😂
In the scene just before Mac takes the scorpion. One of those who are dead! A tap on the foot! Strange that the risk taker didn't see it!?
Carl Weathers was a good actor but he was never anywhere near that fame or fortune of Arnold.
44:10 did she say "terrible effects for the time it was"???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Yea at around 13:00 it's just like a war movie. Could be watching Platoon. But then it gets...weird
Dude i need that shirt 🤣
Fireworks,Whitegold the Yautija and Xenomorphs share the same universe except the movies take place centuries apart from each other
Trivia: Which 3 male actors became politicians?
25:04 Like Whoopi Goldberg! 😬😆🤣

2 governors one movie
Here's a film for you. "Help I'm a Fish!" An Animated movie with Alan Rickman
If you two watch Agyaat (2009), you have no idea what to expect the unknown creature, except refer to this movie.
2 future governors in this movie (California and Minnesota, not Tampon Tim).
how did the alien and predator universes collide? i'm pretty sure the same way movie universes have been colliding since frankenstein met the wolfman back in 1943. one movie producer ran into another movie producer at a party ...
Late comment but you guys should do dog soldiers.
yo Do Predator 2 1990’s Movie
