Come on, man, Chicago was the best race of the year last year in NASCAR handsdown. Not only was it the best race, it got massive viewership and it pulled in a huge international audience for people watching SVG. That Audience has continued on with SVG racing in Xfinity which now gets broadcast in Australia and New Zealand when it wasn’t before. I’m quite confident that this weekend will be a good race even if it’s dry because street courses are unpredictable, and the drivers have to push the limits to be quick, you’ve got concrete walls 3 feet away that causes drama. I can’t wait. 😊
Last year the Chicago race was a shit show because of the rain, you only think its good because svg won
Let's be honest. On a Street course, if you're 3 feet away from the wall, you're not trying hard around
Listening to NASCAR diehards complain about an event like Chicago is bewildering. Especially when the majority of ovals don’t produce anymore exciting racing than road courses. This event offers exposure to a new market not only to the people of Chicago but interest from around the world. A bit like how F1 globally has grown because of interest in North America. 25 years ago the interest in F1 was far, far lower than today in the states.
Next gen cars are known for producing dogshit racing on road courses
NASCAR Should Run a Street Race In Pittsburgh or Denver IMO.
I’m not a fan of the Chicago Street Race, but I’m not gonna act like it’s the worst thing ever.
I am open-minded about NASCAR street racing, but I do wish it was on a different location. If it doesn’t workout in long-term, it was worth a shot.
Indycar has been coming to Toronto for over 30 years now and the Direct Energy Center or whatever it's called is more than large enough to hold both Indycar and NASCAR teams for a triple header.
There’s a reason why IndyCar Street Races like St. Pete, Long Beach, Toronto, and even Belle Isle (when it was a thing) are successful for not only the sport, but those cities in general! And there’s reason why the other random street races either don’t last long or why they even fail.
But IndyCar has way too many circuits in general… way too much…
Besides, there’s better track options for a NASCAR/IndyCar Doubleheader
3 more more roadcources would shutup the nascar " left haters"
fans complained about 7 road courses in 2021, they're going to complain about 8.
also, Road course racing sucks, how about no
I'm making a Pokémon ROM hack based around Chicago. The Steel-type Gym Leader is named Shane.
I'd love to see a street race as a non-points Clash maybe somewhere like Mexico (which would help logistically), and give Chicago's date to Chicagoland!
The assertion that street races produce ‘sub par’ racing is a bad take. Have you watched V8 Supercars? The best races in that series are on street circuits.
He's an average nascar fan. He doesn't know that the world extends outside of Hawaii
V8 SC is a unique series though, the drivers have a different mentality there, and it’s honestly one of the biggest reasons it works.
@@Jangmo_SC not sure how that supports the argument?
Your Xfinity car just crashed 😭
Man, I miss the Road America date, I went to those races and they were phenomenal for fan experience. I hope they go back soon.
NASCAR should race on the streets of Miami in 2025 Especially towards the release of GTA 6
PS: Congrats on the Sponsorship Deal
Bruh!
Hard pass. Homestead is a top 5 track. Also, Miami is the most overrated city I've ever been to.
I liked this race, and it seems when I talk about racing that non fans knew about it too, imo we shouldn’t shit on new ideas - the sport isn’t gonna last if we keep crapping on everything.
cant wait to see Daily Downforce on a race car! this is awesome and im sure it will look great.
They have been racing in the streets of Long Beach for all most 50 years Formula 1 1975 to 1983. CART/Champ Car from 1984 to 2007 and IndyCar from 2008 to 2024. So if difference cities want Nascar to the streets then I am all for it.
I would love for a race in Pittsburgh so much, I’d be there every day for certain
Last years race was average at best, the rain definitely hampered things. The SVG hype train seems to be cooling off and we'll see how he does in his return.
Nascar has always been and should continue to be primarily an oval series. There are plenty of other racing series that race on street courses, Nascar should not be one of them.
Nascar already has series in Canada and Mexico, no need for Cup races there or overseas, especially when owners have been complaining about expenses for years. I believe F1 has an arrangement called the Concorde Agreement which deals with shipping of their cars all over the world. Also, I'd like the price of Nascar tickets to not reach F1 levels.
There are experiments in Nascar that have failed like; Steve Kinser, Dario Franchitti, caution clock, odd/even pit road rules (1991). The jury is still out on the Chicago Street Race.
The Chicago street race is cool, but not practical during the Independence Day holiday. Might run in 2025. Think they will go back to Chicagoland Speedway after that.
Ovals is okay, But street racing is closer to driving typically.
Nascar needs to grow it's fan and spectator base, Internationally and Nationally, Street Racing has done this ! 😂
Las Vegas they should do support sprint races for cash...
I do expect Chicago to be in the 2025 schedule. I think it has higher chances knowing that if it is in the schedule, it will be during that In-Season Tournament.
I sure would love to have a street race in the Scottsbluff-Gering area of Nebraska. And that is if the Chicago Street course gets removed and Chicagoland is not in talks of being revived for the Cup Series.
well yea, everyone wants a race in their hometown, but that is just not practical for a long list of reasons
I’ve never heard of that guy’s hometown. Not saying I’m some authority on what Midwestern towns are worthy of such things, but it doesn’t bode well
@extragoogleaccount6061 the fact you've never heard of it should prove a point
I work with opticoat for my detailing business!! Awesome
I would like to see NASCAR in Pittsburgh personally. It is the one sport, besides the NBA, that doesn't have a track "close" by (closest tracks are Pocono [EAST],Eldora [West], Bristol [South], and Indianapolis [also West]) and doesn't really have a following for Motorsports at all. Pittsburgh is a great sports town and I would like to see NASCAR try to make it happen here.
I know Chicago has Lousy mayors. The only reason they are even racing in Chicago was all thanks to the Worst Mayor Ever In their history then she's un-elected and give it to someone who is even worse. TO ME If I want to see NASCAR back on the streets again try it somewhere else! Not Chicago after this season! If you want to race in that area go back to Chicagoland Speedway I do that.
the city let her do it so that they could get her voted out
I want more street races, but I would not take any claims by NASCAR (as far as economic value) as gospel. They are very good at disguising how much money they make, and how little they share with team owners, track owners and the communities they're racing in.
NASCAR Claims 109$M in economic value, but the municipality walked away with less than $650,000. This feels like the French family continuing their trend of pocketing everything while the sport suffers all around them. I have a hard time believing they care about the sport at all, let alone a track they don't own.
Something definitely feels fishy with the numbers
@@mattcardarelli This is pure speculation on my part: I can't help but wonder if they include all of their revenue from the event as "economic value". There were also other events on in Chicago that weekend, plus it was the weekend before July 4. I've already seen people claim that the hotel revenue was $27.2M, but that is based on the assumption that 100% of hotel stays were for Nascar. It just really doesn't make much sense when you look at a variety of sources.
I miss the days when Nascar had a little more financial transparency.
Come to Greensboro North Carolina
The last place i want To Be is The Gang Bangers are all over Chicago Ducking Bullets would not be in my Job Discription . They wanted Soldier Field Moved .
You might want to take a break from some of the crackpot media you binge on and enjoy reality every once in a while
Just use your real voice and cadence. When you try to do the diaphragm pushing delivery hack broadcaster school presentation we can hear your deviated septum because it just flattens out the tonality of your voice similar to what plugging your nose while talking normally does.
Racial overtones is unnecessary unless it appeals to your fans.
I am Anti Street Course
I predict Christopher Bell will win this year's Chicago street course race
Bring Back Chicagoland! I'm all for a street race but go somewhere you are wanted.
If there were no street races I would be fine with that. Road course is ok. I hate so many walls on a street course. It looks silly to me. Like bumper cars or something.
that's kind of the point
Feeling sick to my stomach ur sponsoring thomas lmao… kid could never beat me ever
