@@ShaftaloooooSomething like that wouldn't do much to protect other escorted ships from incoming missiles in such a mission, which may not be exactly what it was meant to do. It is weird that a ship even as big as that lacks air defense missiles even for self-defense in my opinion, even though it is meant to rely on its stealth for survivability in combat in littoral waters. This type of ship looks to me to be basically a big missile boat. The Finnish stealth missile boats do have a rudimentary defensive missile capability and I believe Sweden could upgrade these to match.
@@herptek it is scheduled for upgrade British CAM Sea Cepter will be installed, but you are right should been there out of the factory but budget cuts.
@@benktlofgren4710 If I remember correctly Sweden and Finland were planning on procuring a common naval defensive missile back in the day, but only Finland went through with it after money dried up in Sweden.

Men from now onwards from the armed forces will smile and blush as they handle torpedoes and missiles as an unofficial informal protocol. (other guys were more into hide and seek business)
If this ship was as good as it was supposed to be it would have bin amazing but it was a major failure . If it was all that it was supposed to be and the US had a bunch of them it would be awesome in the Persian golf , mediterranean and Red Seas . It’s a shame that it was such a dud and money pit
@@kristofferhellstrom the LCS was the one that was a money pit and was a piece of junk . Out of I think 300 ( might be high ) went to something like 150 then somewhere around 75 to being cancelled after 2 were done and 1 was getting finished up . Way over budget , Stress cracks between mettles , corrosion from salt water and other things plugged this ship .
@@frankiskeens4081there are quite a few LCS ships in service, they just run without there modular modules concept. The Zumwalt destroyer is what only had 3 of them ever completed. That the DDG in short I believe.

The Saab corvettes are cool 😎 ! The US should adopt some of technology used in Sabbs for American ship building. 😃😃❤❤
Both US LCSs have the Bofors gun and the Independence class has a SAAB Giraffe radar.

Sweden sent two corvettes to suppress pirates off the coast of Somalia but they were the older Stockholm class. Not the Visby stealth corvettes.

The ship is not intended for deep sea operations. And how do you conclude exactly that this class is a huge failure?
