I was really excited to see the Select Object and Refine Edge functions that were demonstrated during the introduction of PS for iPad during Adobe Max 19, after a few days of having tinkered with it I almost don’t want to touch PS for iPad anymore until the functions are fully implemented 😒
Hi, I am starting my journey on Aero and I remembered your tutorial from last year. I have checked your link below but it is on read only. Do you have another link where I can download the images to follow along with your tutorials? Thanks in advance!
Awesome example of the capabilities of this app. As a photographer, I was very excited, and ultimately disappointed by this 1.0 release of Photoshop. From the perspective of a photographer, the toolset is unbelievably limited. I understand this is a 1.0 release, so I wasn't expecting feature parity with desktop Photoshop. When I downloaded the app to test it I was immediately disappointed when I found out that for my workflow, this app is utterly unusable. I'll be watching for future updates, but with Affinity Photo already out there, I can't understand why this was released with such a limited feature set.
I agree that the current version is very limited and I also hit a lot of walls during my first time experimenting with it. Adobe is promising fast and frequent increase in features, so I'm sure it will get more robust eventually. In the meantime I think the best way of thinking about it is to embrace the restrictions and find a way to integrate the app into your desktop workflow. Also I'm hoping to see some innovations introduced to the app that is not even in the desktop version yet. Since the app is built from scratch it will allow new features to be added more organically.
its more like a pre release beta version if you ask me. I wonder where all their money goes because it aint all going to software development. Fresco was a joke and now this half baked photoshop. Lucky i only have 2 months left of my sub and then ill leave.
@@uglystrawberry yea same here bro!!! They will only listen if we talk with our wallets :) I already bought both Affinity apps for my iPad and both are pretty awesome. Yes, you can do pretty amazing things but its not that fully packed as the Adobe apps but most their features i hardly ever use so im fine with that. If you not in a hurry then its best to use sites like appsliced.co etc to make a wishlist with the apps you want so that you get a notice when they are on sale :) Affinity photo for ipad is now on sale for 9.99 dollars but only handy if you have a ipad of course :) Anyways, keep up the fight and spread the word because this the only way we can fight these retarded subscriptions.
Sayak Bhattacharya the team working on the app is working hard implementing Ps for the iPad and I actually find it refreshing for its restrictions. The important features like Smart Objects, rotate view, etc. are all coming soon so the app is going to get closer to the desktop functionality.
hinduspl it's a normal monitor that can be rotated 90 degrees and set it up as a portrait format screen. I use this as my secondary screen where I have references and notes. Landscape format is great for designing but portrait is better for copy and mood boards in my opinion.
This Adobe's app hasn't any vector tools and needs 10$ subscription monthly. Are you serious?! Affinity Photo for Ipad looks much more powerful and useful. And hey, it works without any subscription!
It performs laggy just like the desk top version......open procreate a file 25inches x 25inches..... both procreate and ps and affinity.... you’ll see with brushes. Photoshop lags like as if you’re using a pc
@@teckncal oh I bet it does. Haha willing to bet money that you can't use ALL your brushes and custom ones because some will lag more than others. Unless you draw in small amount of pixels I have a i9-9900k, 32 gigs of ram, clocked at 5ghz, temperatures at 25 degrees and photoshop still lags because it's not your pc. It's the software. They are cheap. That's how adobe is. An iPad with affinity performs way faster and accurate than the latest wacom and a high end pc. (Which I happen to own the latest gen)
Deebo Nash lmao no u don’t 😂😂 if u genuinely had the money to afford that then you wouldn’t be complaining about how cheap Adobe is. You’d move on to something more expansive😂😂 which btw 90% of movie studios use photoshop to make textures for 3D models or to make the movie posters. Never once have I ever heard of anyone complaining that it’s not powerful enough. Or your custom brushes are cheap and shitty😂😂 don’t blame adobe. If you really had that strong of a pc you wouldn’t have felt the need to boast about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ a “nah my pc if definitely powerful enough” would’ve worked just fine.
Deebo Nash also if I happen to be wrong, and u have your pc is running at 25 degrees. Try slightly over clocking to get more power. Your pc will definitely be able to handle the temps
Deebo Nash actually Man I think I know what your talking about. That’s not lag, change the spacing in your brushes properties to as low as it can be for a very smooth and non jagged experience. Cheers man hope that helps
I am not sure you answered the question of the title of your video, so I do it for myself: does photoshop worth the wait? NO, definitely doesn’t. If you make the same poster with Affinity photo on iPad you will notice using advanced and almost desktop features, you can work much better and faster, and you can also export in psd to finalize it using the REAL photoshop on PC. For now Adobe Photoshop on iPad is trash, really hope I’ll change my mind in future updates.
You can save the document in psd and pdf and open it in Ai and Ps or send it your email. But it would be great if we can save documents into the folder of this operating system. Nowadays they are being saved in the cloud. Yes, it is under development. Maybe after 5 or 10 years it will be great. Yes, I pay for Fresco and Photoshop 87 euros per year in Finland. I could not have Mobile bundles, which include 5 programs (also Illustrator there) + creative cloud membership and 100gb cloud cost 145 euros - each country has own rules.
They are going to allow importing brushes in the next update coming very soon. I agree that it is extremely important. What I'm missing even more is the rotate canvas option, but that is also coming in the next update.

Thats awesome u give this free IPad course just for free. Unlucky I dont have one but I appreciate and I hope people will use it well
This helps me a lot. Thank uuu
Awesome video!! I have a question, is it possible to import fonts into Photoshop for iPad?
Do you have a tutorial on how to do this on windows?
Awesome video
Does PS works with iPad air 2?

@@TheChameleon2008 I am cancelling my adobe subscription... i hear great things about affinity photo ipad and desktop same with thr designer apps

I done with adobe. Paying monthly for it is ridiculous at this point.
great video!
How did you record the process here ??
Awesome! Thanks so much:)
So the iPad does take quality away with resizing ect??
Yes, at the moment. But I was told that Smart Objects will be added soon.
I still think that ipad isn't utilising it's full potential by not allowing the exact same version of Ps as in a pc or a mac.

whats that vertical monitor behind your back ? 0:35 Great video. Thanks.

Wow it’s so good to have iPad versions now
Hertz GFX I agree and it is just going to get better plus Illustrator is coming to the iPad too. I'm super excited about that.

Yes I'm a Designer can’t wait for the Illustrator version #IllustratorisLife

When ps touch does almost everything and was last updated in like 2016. It is free and really powerful. Really not impressed
The ipad version is a shallow cash grab on adobes part, they see the successes apps like procreate or affinity have and want a piece of the pie.
It definitely wasn’t worth it. ONE brush, are you kidding!
Ashley you hold the brush tool to bring up different brushes
Sad Sheep YT yes I figured that out, but the selection is minimal and I can’t import my abr brushes like I can in Affinity & Artstudio Pro.
