We sang it together and would repeat the end credits of Dracula repeatedly when I was little. Lost her three years ago today ❤️ such a hauntingly, beautiful song.

Every time I hear/play this song I think about my own rarest rose that ever deigned to bloom: my daughter Gracie. This song reaches out to me stronger than ANY other song every has and always produces tears…Very sadly she passed away on the day she was born after 11 hours in 2004. We will be together again one day.

I thought the same thing when I listened to it. It may have been a subconscious thing, or a coincidence, but one does think of it as a possibility if one knows about that episode in her life.
A song I return to, because it has left such a powerful memory. It can be interpreted to death, but, its really about the love one feels for another. Gender has no place. This track is so beautifully done by Lennox, you may remember "Bram Stoker's Dracula," or the powerful song during the end credits.

I saw the movie when I was far too young to fully understand the characters but I immediately fell in love with the song. Fast-forward to 30 years later and it's still one of my favourites, possibly my favourite Annie song of all time.

Did anyone ever notice how similar Annie Lennox's Love Song to a Vampire is to Bette Midler's The Rose? I think Annie was influenced by it and therefore added a reference to a rose in the lyrics.
Both songs have that slow buildup to an emotional climax, and neither one has a chorus that repeats. And both are achingly beautiful!
